If you want the "threat of death" you now have a slider that you can push to the extreme setting ! There was no need to force everyone into this situation . I could kill for hours bosses without being in real danger and still not get bored . You see ? Everyone is different . LEts just hope Statesman will come with something acceptable for both of us

Seriously not trying to start an arguement but ... if you notice I do have mine turned up all the way. That's what the "invincibility" comment was about. Sorry guess I should have made that more clear.
What I was saying is that even with it turned up all the way I still wish there was an even higher setting on the slider.

I'll admit I haven't read all the pages of this thread ... too tired but I did want to throw my opinion in with the rest.
I do like the new boss changes, solo or teamed it adds a dangerous quality to teaming that was lacking before. Without the threat of death I am one of the ones that got quickly bored.
I regularly team up with a Defender and we are always saying how even on "invincibility" mode the missions are too easy. We actually get happy when there are a couple bosses next to each other in our missions.
Anyway these are just my opinions,

Also keep in mind that when people ask for scrappers (or whatever archtype) duel wielding pistols ... Pulp is what they are really after.
Give me a Rocket Pack, a piece of chewing gum (to hold the Pack together) and a pistol any day of the week.

I had been playing DAoC when I heard rumors of a "superhero" game. I did my research and finally found the CoH main site.
At first I was big time turned off because there was no PvP at all and I had been through EverGrind and had no desire to go through that crap again.
But I decided I would keep checking the site and see what happens.
After weeks and months of reading the website I saw it was delayed, can't remember when, just one time it said it was delayed indefinately ... I thought "crap it's not going to happen."
I was really disappointed ...
Then I checked back one day it was a "hmm wonder what's going on?" type thing. I saw it was going to finally be released!!!
I still had reservations about the no PvP thing but decided to give it a try ... I'm not normally known for my good decisions so I was surprised by the game.
There have been ups and downs as with any game (grumbleNerfUnstoppablegrumble) but we adapt and move on. It's what we as players bring to the table ... we get hit wth a nerf bat and we say "Ok ... that's all you got?"
Here's to CoV in 2005,

There are far more important issue about Tankers and Scrappers then waiting for a mob.

I think I speak for alot of people, not all, not 99.9%, but alot when I say ...be silent.
To Martin: Thank you very very much. As another poster pointed out taunt has made the runner issue not so bad, however when starting from scratch at level 3 when there is no taunt available this will be really nice.
At first I did take taunt JUST to stop runners, I did respec out of it and just kept Provoke ... so when a mob runs on me now ... I hit Provoke usually pulling a second group that the runner is passing at the timeGo Me!
Looking forward to hitting foes in the back like a true hero,

Issue 3 is in internal test already. QA reports suggest that it is already better than sucktastic. Your mileage may vary.

For the love of God leave the +1 level mobs in the missions.
Before all of you roll your eyes and say "you must have a x AT and it's easy for all of you." Let me tell you my 2 characters that I play.
1. Main Toon: Tank - Inv/SS
Pre-Patch I never even turned my toggles on because with them on it was just not a challenge. The only challenge was to see if my endurance recovered fully by the time I found more mobs to slap around.
After the Patch, sometimes I wonder if I am going to even make it out alive of some fights (Behemoth Monsters that have Invincibility paired with 2 or 3 Fire Thorns that can hold/fire blast). THAT is fun for me because I have to use strategy, inspirations (before patch I don't think I used a single inspiration) and strategy to get through the fights.
2. I also have a defender, Empathy/Dark. level 6.
Yesterday I got that mission to clear Outcasts from the base. Went in with a full group, we got slaughtered (mainly by the patrol). However I went back solo and completed the mission. Was it easy? Nope. Was there an Orange boss waiting for me at the end? Yep. I was ducking in and out of Line of Sight the whole fight, keeping him at a distance and firing from around corners and such. Was an awesome fight.
Summary: Pre-Patch those of us that wanted a challenge had to ignore missions, they just didn't have any challenge to them. After patch those that want it easy now have to ignore missions until sliders comes in ... sounds fair to me.
