On a note for the whole incest thing. I can give an example of it being socially accepted in, at least, one society. In an African tribe incestous sex is used as an example to teach the children of thier society about it and to show them of what/why/how it is and to get them comfortable with the idea. It is another teaching/learning experience that is used for such purposes. Does this make people monsters for using the 'teach by doing' rather than 'teach by speaking'? Personally, I do not. (Of course it is an example that it is not always an absolute.)

Also, another thing I think is always glossed over. If you are Christian, do you believe in Adam and Eve? In the Garden of Eden? Well, if you believe in creationism like that then you have accepted that incest was used to create human beings to begin with, as Eve had to have sex with her sons in order to produce more offspring. And if that is true, to a degree, everyone in the world is having some form of incest with just sleeping with someone. (Of course if you go with the laws of 'First cousin or closer in genetic standing' then it wouldn't be that generalized, but I admit, I was saying the last part to be a smart ***.)

I decided to comment. (Obvious isn't it?)

MRP is fine, in my opinion, but outside of SG/VGs where they are explicit to that type of thing, or to teams of those that are in agreement of what is good, it should remain to a T rating. The Public should try and stick with the whatever bureau we have here. Be gritty, be violent, be vulgar, but if you do it in public, expect backlash.

ERP is similar, but it has the problem of being more volatile than MRP, as some might cross off bad words or some blood, but when someone talks about <Censored> worthy things most will report your butt.

Given that, I don't see a problem with either. Though, I only ERP with characters in a relationship as it is my strong belief that sex is a big thing that could make or break a relationship, including little details in performance, as seen in many divorces where fetishes or overall eroticism is missing that makes some people incompatible.

P.S. I know I love XPing and teaming, too. The ga,me itself is awesome, only augmented by the RP, IMO.

But you just said THAt didn't happen in the D. Infact I was got a proposition for ERP in the streets with my low level blaster as she was zappign things to hit 5 or get invited to a sewer team. So... Yeah... The game itself has that but it's apparently NOTORIOUS in the D, according to the rumors and such... So off here and there things, it happens in all MMOs I noticed.

No matter where I go in relation to City of Heroes/Villains, I see everyone that starts a comment about Pocket D, whether good or not, gets a response of some kind about how Pocket D is a festering filth hole that is nothing but sex, drugs and violence. Now, I go to the D frequently as my characters. Either to people watch or to actively RP myself, and I have NEVER seen this open sex people claim, ever, not even a mistell (Though I have in other zones). I have seen only two instances of people peddling/receiving/using illegal substances (And one of them was with my own character) and I have seen a few amount of violence (Which I do disagree with, what with the blatant pop up that says there's no fighting).

But, Despite my own anecdotal evidence, I keep hearing people say these things happen, frequently, like several times a day. I play randomly, and even more random when I go to the D, from the morning, afternoon, night, late night, I go at all times over the week, so it's not me just playing off hours or some nonsense like this. But It just gets on my nerves, especially when there's a new RPer and the first suggestion is to 'never go to the D', overall shrinking the pool for those who do RP there, and giving it a reputation, I believe, that is ill deserved.

What I really want to know is, what experiences do you all, as people of virtue, have there to give it such a bad reputation, or is this just a running joke I saw too much and got tired of seeing?

In my opinion, I beleive SOME extra slots be good. Say four for the expansion (Like with buying CoV and CoH together), and have the option of buying another eight. (Give you a total of four pages of character slots to fill out, AKA 48, per server.)

I, personally, beleive that would be a nice compromise, because we all know some people would love another page pof slots on their home server.

Overall, I am saddened by the 'trading' of the Name Watch thread. it was originally 'I have this name, but am deleting the toon now, have fun.' But now it degraded to black-market dealings. People can grab a name and sit on it the peddle it for one they REALLY want. I find it stupid and crazy.

If they traded it, screw them. If they gave it up and then they gave it up. But if they gave it up and you go around and try to trade it, I say that's wrong. They gave it freely, nothing in return and now you're going back and saying 'I want something for this thing I got for free!'. I find it disrespectful, like regifting, or trading back something someone had a close attachment to.

Overall: I just don't like 'trading' names. It's stupid and sucks. If you don't want a name anymore, and want to tell someone 'I got this name that I don't care anymore' have fun! Be nice! Trading names you don't want to use, though, is disrespectful, IMO. I know I can't tell you what to do, but I just know how I feel...

As with males, females used to have the fury style... I thought. Maybe I'm just remembering things differently. I am wondering if they used to be there, because I was making a character, female, who wants short hair, really short, because of being a speedster, and long hair is a... problem. Fury, I figured, would look perfect for her, and noticed it was gone. Closest to fury was 'spiked' which is too butch for her, and I decided on 'Styled' as an alternative, but still a bit too long for my liking.

So! Am I nuts or did it exist for females?

I love CoH/V and to tell the truth I am kind of offended at some of these people saying the game's not heroic, then pointing to CO for examples. I die a little inside hearing CO is considered a CoX2 when out of this forums. In CO I have yet to see anyone take 17 enemies and live... Solo, let alone beat everyone up before someone 'saves' them. I have yet to see anyone on CO take on an AV solo (Of course here that takes work and might need to for things like what's his name four armed mutant...). CO feels less heroic than CoX IMO.

I love just having a new toon and taking 3-6 enemies at once at level 1. I love getting a good duo going and taking out 30 people at a time. How is that not heroic? I'll concede to it being repetative, and the reason I enjoy the game so much is friends and RP. Though, honestly, I solo a lot now, due to time contraints, but I still feel super. I shake my head, saddened when I tell my friends I play CoX and they laugh saying the game is crap, or to get something 'fun' like Warhammer, Warcraft or, even CO, just because it's new.

I love this game, and would not abandon it for another. I admit a remake would be nice. Get me the customization of APB, and that is all I'd need. Sure, other things, like more zone events, a team of fliers needing to stop meteors, etc, be nice, and little bonuses, but I love the game! I will stick to it to the end. I look at other MMOs, I do a trial of friends accounts, and the only one I even enjoyed other than CoX was Matrix Online...

Admittedly, I hope the new Star Wars game does well, and I may find something else to wste money on. But I will NEVER trade out CoX, bollocks on those that say it's dead, dying or needs anything more. It's fine, and so much better as of I16, I can't think of what else they could do! And I don't need anything else. As far as I'm concerned, past this Issue, all others are bonuses to make me smile and go 'that's nice'.

I want Dark Miasma for my Controller and Thermal Radiation/Fire Blast for Defenders (Finally!). Other than that, I don't think I need more... But a Broadsword for Brutes be nice.

All right, I get it now. I thought Energy Cloak did suppress, wy I was a bit anrgy, but still, why are the smashing/lethal toggle different from the fire/cold/energy toggle? I get the Psionic and Negative Energy difference as holes, but it seems off that one is 12 and the other is 15 percent. I don't recall any other set doing that.

I decided to make a claws/Energy Aura brute last night, and I have been playing him. For Both of the Defense Toggles they are less than the stalker's values. Instead of 16.5 defense for the primary defenses (Smashing/Lethal, Cold/Fire/Energy), they are 12.8 and 15 respectively. Is this a serious oversight or what? A Brute that gets less defense than a stalker seems ridiculous, especially with their fitting into the role of Tank in the general consensus of the game.

So what do you all have to say about this?

My own anecdotal evidence. I remember being able to play on teams fighting enemies below 7 having NO bosses spawn except end bosses, but now, even set at +0 x1 my two-person teams are spawning bosses every other group. Which is dangerous, especially low level where I'm currently playing a couple controllers and a new curroptor.
