Quote:Downloading this right now to try this weekend.I downloaded the Mac install from Vidiotmaps.com and doubleclicked it. I often but not always get a black screen on load now. No other changes or patches, started immediately after. Deleted the game, reinstalled from disk, worked fine for two weeks straight. Re-downloaded the map pack, reinstalled it. Immediately got the black screen issue again.
Temporary fixes include:
Boot into safe mode, load a character, quit to desktop and then boot into normal mode.
Reboot computer then boot only the game and nothing else. -
Quote:The funny thing is that I didn't have to create data folder, the decompressed archive was named "data" already so I just moved it into the coh folder and then launched the game. My installation didn't have a data folder to begin with.Pum, can you post the structure of your data folder? I've tried everything and these darn power icons won't work. Maybe there's something I'm missing. I figure if I make my data folder exactly like yours it ought to work, right?
Do you have an existing data folder already with other mods in it? -

OK I just installed the Corva assets and they seemed fine to me, the icons all were changed without any issue.
I used Safari to download the .zip file and it automatically decompressed the folder called 'data'. The weird part is that Safari called the download "texture_library" after decompressing it, which is the folder inside the 'data' folder in my downloads.
I simply dragged that into the coh folder of my gaming contents, according to the instructions here.
I got the zip download here. Original thread is here.
Was that the same way you guys installed the patches?
Note that other methods of unzipping or installation my create folders with hidden files/meta data inside. -
Quote:That should not happen. Any attempt at an attack should result in your bodyguards returning fire, whether it misses or not. You can test this by taking your much higher level MM to a lowbee zone and using an non damage attack (debuff) on a target while your pets are in complete BG mode.I've also had henchmen "forget" to attack because my Defense was so high all the foes' attacks were missing me.
It would be the equivalent of being def capped.
If you have a hold or a stun that can be perma, try attacking a boss level creature with lots of health while in BG mode. After your first attack the pets will defend you but if you are able to perma mez the boss, you will find that your pets will lose interest without you changing any pet mode.
Once you allow the boss to resume attacking, you'll find the pets will respond to the attack again. -
Just remember that BG mode is a per pet counter so you can have some pets in Defensive mode and others in attack mode.
Also BG pets trigger a response when any of your pets/henchmen get attacked as well, so it's not just the MM that will trigger the response.
I frequently put my Assault Bot on attack mode and when it gets hit in response the other pets light up on the attacker even though the rest are in BG. Note that BG pets will remain in a responsive attack only during BG mode.
I've had BG pets that have stopped attacking because the target was held/knockdown/mezzed long enough where the BG aggro wore off.
Also remember that during the first 5 seconds of BG mode your BG pets will not respond to any attacks (by design). You can force them to attack if you want but then they will be out of BG mode, of course. -
I'll try replicating your problem on my mac to see if I can trigger it and to see if there's any work arounds.

Quote:Can we just leave the crazy at home? That a known fact? Or just speculation?
Cause I really don't see the logic in that. You don't axe a veteran animation lead when there're plenty of others you can get rid off.
Maybe he took the hit instead of one of his animation team or something. Maybe because he was on the look out for new challenge anyway. I can see that. But amongst the handfull of people that got tossed out they lose the loyal, experienced lead animator? Doesn't make the least bit of sense.

Follow Dawn's link. He said he didn't leave voluntarily.

Quote:Not always true...I know a couple of people who had broken up with significant others and lost either the account or had been looted because it wasn't a friendly split. My big objection to those people is this:
There has never been a single documented case of anyone hijacking an account, in this MMO or any other, unless they were motivated by the potential of acquiring real-world money from it in some way, which is possible only if RMT exists.
These people are the sole motivation of a great deal of malware, keyloggers, and more, and I can't comprehend supporting them in any way. -
Welcome back! Best to join Justice United and JFA2010 chat channels.
I think most of the action is in the channels vs sg chat but I could be wrong.
If you need to crash out at my base I can give you an invite anytime but most of the sg chat is pretty lame since only a few of us left. -
Once they parole me I think I will do just that.

If you put them on a spot so they don't move, you can use SuperSpeed to dump them onto spots so they don't aggro everything.
I can't remember the bind command but I have the shift left click to position them and then I can take off to the point where they get rubberbanded to my current spot, which is usually 2/3 to 3/4 to the next pylon. Of course they get whacked a lot more than usual, but generally it helps more than it hurts the raid. -

If I gave you 2B would that be too much to manage? 5B?
Is this a massive Ponzi Scheme?

I am very tempted to use the "Buy It Nao" price and corner the market on these puppies.

If you win anything you can always give it away to someone who needs it more than you.
The name doesn't have to be exact either if you're making a replica toon on Justice from your main on another server. -
Quote:Sorry, I'm with Castle on this one. Pretty sure it's more than a simple cookie expiry.I know that Castle responded a while back, voicing an opinion that it was a bug. Still doesn't make it a bug.
Default lifetime for a vBulletin cookie is a 1 day logon. It CAN be changed. And I've given them the information to do so. But there may be other considerations besides simple technical feasibility (CAN this be done) of changing it on a bog-standard install, as NCSoft's version has been customized to interface with their authentication servers.
Got this one last week on top of the spontaneous kick outs (not just a 24 hour timer on the kick out):

Quote:There was a good thread in the i17 beta discussions about the use of /graphfps that's since been nuked.Surely at least partially forgivable considering the game was released over 6 years ago and has since had a companion game released, then merged into it (CoV) and even recently had an upgraded "modern graphics" mode stuck onto the side of it. About the only way for the game to compare in terms of performance per parts is for them to reprogram it (nearly entirely) from scratch with the current incarnation as a goal. Who knows, maybe we'll get only 1 new issue in 2011 and it'll be just that.. a complete rework of the game so it runs as efficiently as more modern stuff. Currently though it's pretty cool that it runs as well as it does, and does what it does, considering its age and the complexity of the modifications it has gone through.
I think that the older systems that have northbridge memory controllers (ie. the non-core i3/i5/i7) tend to suffer more as the settings get turned up in Ultra Mode.
I found a google cache link about graphfps and how it can show if you're CPU or GPU limited here. Probably can help you tune your settings for optimal results. Just remember to try various zones, Grandville is probably still the most intensive zone to run through. -
Quote:Did I miss seeing a resolution in there?I reset all nvidia settings to default, changed to single display performance, and closed all programs. I ran CoH, enabled all advanced settings, set...
8x AA
16x Anisotropic
VSync Enabled
Distance 124%
Ambient Occlusion to Strong w/Color Bleed, High Quality, Trilinear
Particle count 50000
Every other setting is as high as possible, and I get a max fps of 22. I still only have a load of around 60% per card. I have played around with three other computers with different generation cards (8800gt, 9800gt, gtx280) and processors, and none of them come close to the OP's frame rate. The game is playable once I turn a few things down, but it seems like I'm not getting the performance I should.
