Quote:Shouldn't that be Hall of Shame? Also, you forgot a 't' in the first title wordJust like the title says. Post you're award winning bad builds. The ones that you look at an think what the heck was I thinking. Here's mine. http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/downl...43CC1F116CDB00
I have a fire/ice tank that is totally gimpy. Don't need to post a build because the only synergy was that it used to be for herding around a corner with ice patch/burn-repeat to get around the fear component in burn.
Aggro caps put an end to that tank, and now it is just a toggle heavy underperforming toon. -
Quote:Someone here has an itchy necrolock trigger finger.I'm not a mod here, but as a rule of thumb, I consider necroposting on the forums I run when you "resurrect" a thread that has been inactive for more than 3 months. Anything other than that is fair game for a repost. Of course, on forums with high traffic, I guess that would be a far too long margin.

Quote:Pulling to the ship probably wouldn't work well since the mobs there can't stand up to the sig AVs long enough. Perhaps if you were able to get the entire ship going on the AV but usually only a few Longbow aggro on the AV at a time, enough to just get tumbled like dominoes (at 50). You would need a whole clumped bunch of 54 Wardens to bring down one of the signature AVs. Perhaps a mind controller might be able to sleep/confuse an AV enough to slow them down but I really doubt it.Pulling to the ship would be REALLY hard. Sometimes pulling her too far aggros the others for some reason. And she would constantly hit me with Gloom. And Gloom is unfair. :P
Duoing the STF has been done before...
I think the only way you could finish LR is to cheat and get him stuck along the back wall, and then you could finish off the towers and then LR. -
Quote:Just looking at their pretty pdf on the earnings release, it shows that CoX accounts for about 2-4% of overall revenue to NCSoft, which is pretty d000my.it can decline for quite a while and still be worth NC's while to keep around.
I've been seeing posts like yours since probably the middle of 2005.
I expect I'll be seeing them still in 2015.
However, if you take a look at NCSoft's North American marketshare, you can see that CoX probably accounts for 25-35% of their North American presence, which means that this game is still quite important for them. -
Korean accounting rules or US accounting rules? Or are they working the same way?

Quote:Have you thought of upping your difficulty to +3/+4? That way you might be able to get a boss level spider like a Toxic over to the AVs and see if they can work the AVs down. The sig AVs are locked to 54 anyhow. Just a random thought. Not sure about what you'd do with LR and his towers though.Hello all that have been following this thread! I decided to post my results of the solo STF.
I took screenies of nearly everything, but ended up falling short of my goal. So I won't bother posting them. I finally defeated Dr. Aeon using a more agressive "just kill him before he kills me" method. I burnt a shivan on him as well =/
So I got to the last mission, and I decided to play around with Confusing the AV's. I was able to get BS and GW to team up on Scirroco, and they eventually killed him. Me being a controller, I wasn't able to perma-confuse them so I could only use this method for one AV.
I tried getting mako to help so that I could maybe use, Mako, BS, and Scirroco to kill GW. But mako seems nearly impossible to confuse, I couldn't do it, even with Vanguard Medal.
After using this method to defeat Scirroco I pulled Mako and after many failed attempts I got lucky and only he came. He was tricky because he has really high defense, and even with Sleet and Infridgate always on him, Benumb missed often. So that fight took alot longer than expected and I did die a few times.
Next I pulled BS, BS has the highest DPS out of all of them as far as I could tell. (I just went by how much damage they dealt to each other when they were confused)
BS was pretty easy. But he was possibly the scariest.... =P
On to Ghost Widow. Ghost Widow is different than the others because all pets apart from Decoys are useless on her. So I was limited to only using Decoys. To make a long story short I just didn't have the DPS to kill her. I tried using shivans but they died relatively fast and she just healed off of them anyway.
After many failed attempts of the last mission I finally gave up. I'm sort of content with how far I made it, but on the inside. I wish I could have gotten GW too. I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to defeat LR, but still. Woulda been alot more satisfying.
Welp, that about does it for this challenge. I am however interested in doing a duo STF. I feel like 2 ill/cold's or ill/rad, or ill/ anything really could do it with relative ease. If we alternated Decoys instead of casting them at the exact same time. WE would always have a "tank" out and would never take any damage. The hardest part of this TF was the gap you get while re-summoning Decoys. I used the temp Kinetic Dampener? during re-casting so that I could avoid some of the aggro i got between castings.
Thanks all for following this thread, was a lot of fun! Thanks for all the support! -
I did my 2nd WST and have 2 Notices on my MM who (didn't) have anything slotted but did finish the incarnate arc.

Quote:+1.It's not all DOOOOM and gloom. Adjusted by the exchange rate CoH is only down 15% year to year. In KWN we are down 17.5%.
If you look at the rest of NCSoft's bread and better MMOs, they are all down by a lot more than us Y2Y. Their two old faithfuls are down 16.1% and 18.6% while their latest big hit is down 27.8% as the newness wore off. So if anything we aren't standing out like a nail looking to be hammered.
CoX is holding steady, even in the face of newer, more hyped hero games coming on the market.
Even if this game goes F2P I don't mind as long as I've got an option to keep a subscription going as it holds now (free issues etc. with the occasional pay expansion).
Whatever can get people in the door and keep them in here means that the long term growth of the game is assured, I'm pretty OK with.
The only thing I'm going to ask for is that mitten hands go away very soon. It's the dead giveaway that this game is based on an ancient engine. -
Looks like everyone has weirdo shapes for their supplementary trays. Is there a reason to make them not straight across?
-
Quote:I can see why they put it in because there are no way points within the mission to show you where the AVs are hanging out, so if this was your first time doing the STF it'd be pretty easy to get lost I 'spose...not that that's ever stopped them from doing stranger things with less information. It never ceases to amaze me how some people get so bent out of shape by the way other people play this game.
I agree with Nord, Uber and others who suggested having an option for everyone to anonymously vote to opt-out of cutscenes. Most of the cutscenes in the game don't bother me, but Dr. Aeon can get tedious after a few viewings. Even just editing the part where he names each Villain-in-waiting down to a simple line of naming them instead of name-show-name-show-name-show-name-show would do wonders for this particular cutscene.
If I can leave my computer, take a bio break, mix a rum and coke in the kitchen and make it back to the computer before the cutscene is finished... yah, it might be too long. After 100+ viewings? Definitely too long. -
-
Try monitoring your combat attributes to see if you are getting debuffed or endurance drained.
-
I've seen this cut scene hundreds of times. Literally.
I think it is the best way for anyone to take a break, especially if they *like* speeding. You can't normally go anytime else. >.>
The shorter ones I can do without, but this one is long enough to get up and do whatever needs to be done, and wash afterwards.

+4 ITF is easily doable easily except the final Rommie and his Nictuses (Nictii?).
For that we had to modify our method to go back to a roof pull...just like the olden days.
Basically this means you stand on the roof of the little building behind Rommie and snipe him or whatever. The ideal situation is that only he comes running and the rest of the gang doesn't do anything, but Rommie will be in LOS so he does his rez thing.
Also it works best if the aggro tank stands right at the corner of the roof (where Rommie jumps onto the roof) to keep Rommie pinned there for the LOS rez to work. That, or immob him.
With that method the peak of the roof serves as a block to LOS for squishies to prevent the stun from hitting them during the rez. -
They are probably mad as heck that Intel didn't give them *any* advance warning so they are probably in panic mode.
Also with so few qualified motherboards in the channel, buyers who don't know that the 1155 motherboards are not available and Sandy Bridge is not 1156 compatible might reduce confusion.
Just taking them off the market for a little bit might be a good game plan in terms of returns and PO'd customers. Almost everyone is unhappy with the situation right now. Except AMD. -
Did you try just deleting the offending file in that directory or that directory and then doing a verify (forcing the files to be redownloaded)? Might save some time vs downloading the entire game again.

"Yes, that likely means the replacement of all Sandy-Bridge-based motherboards, laptops, and pre-built PCs currently on store shelves or already in the hands of consumers."
Sigh. Of course I just switched over last week to Sandy Bridge. Can't seem to win for trying.
At least the corporate upgrades I ordered were discounted i7-870 systems. Would hate to have replace a bunch of work machines. -
You may not want to get a Sandy Bridge system just yet.

Don't know how true this is or the extent of it. -
Quote:Going up to 8x FSAA at 2560x1600 drops my frame rate to 5-6ish. Obviously need more VRAM since it hovers around 30fps at 4x FSAA. 5970 2GB (1GB addressable per GPU).Particle count only really comes into play on large teams where many players and critters are activating many emitters simultaneously, and that's when you usually see the effect of lowering it. Under normal circumstances, it shouldn't come into play.
As far as AA and AF go, I have mine at x4 by x4. I tried turning AA off entirely, assuming that my resolution was so high I wouldn't see the jaggies, but I was wrong. Very wrong. x2 is doable, but I can still see the interpolation. At x4, my eyes cannot notice any hard line jaggies unless I rub my nose on the screen and put on my glasses, which is good enough in my book.
4x is mostly good enough for me, I can see jaggies easily when it's off. 2x never worked right for me. -
+1. Would like *some* information about crossfire support. Whether it is "we are working on it but it is backburner" type of thing or "forget it, it's too small of a market" that would be better than hanging onto a useless feature.
Was hoping for eyefinity and crossfire support when the AMD/ATi sponsorship thing was announced, but looks like I got suckered.
Went AMD (5970) for this game (don't play any others) but if nothing is forthcoming when my GPU upgrade cycle comes around again, it will be a once burned twice shy thing for me and I will be back to Nvidia permanently.
Currently eyeing up Dual GTX580s but maybe The Television can convince me otherwise. Only thing is that the 1.5GB seems a bit constrained...would be nice to have 2GB+ per GPU. -
Quote:Don't forget the always fun [Self Destruct] that comes with the cyborg booster pack.In the past, /stuck worked for me in a hot dog stand next to the store in one of the villain areas (might be the same one for all I can recall). You might have to stand right up against a wall and you might get shifted just to the other side of it.
The other way is to 'port out. Do you have a base teleport power, Pocket D teleport power, day job teleport power (either base or Wentworth's), or mission transporter? Any one of those ought to do it. Failing that, ask in broadcast for someone to team with you and recall you out of there.
If you can walk any distance inside the place, an Oroborous portal might work too.
