Fatal error while launching

After todays patch (2/1/2011) when I try to launch the game from the updater, I get this error box


I've tried re-verifying all files and shut down the comp completely and restarted. Only thing I haven't done is uninstall the game and reinstall.

Well hurry and do something!
Its ... not actually much different with no WTF announced.

Did you try just deleting the offending file in that directory or that directory and then doing a verify (forcing the files to be redownloaded)? Might save some time vs downloading the entire game again.

Got it figured out. There was an errant texture file in the data folder that the game seemed to be trying to access. Deleted that file and everything is good.
