  1. Knockup (snicker) with Knockout Blow is definitely weaker. I've also noticed 'stuttering', where the mobs kind of flinch when I use Footstomp. I don't know if that's a graphics glitch or if they're being hit by a very, very, VERY weak knockdown.
  2. You guys broke the Mission Architect feedback window. Now it says "MMColumn1Keyword1" with different numbers.

Tested, and the reduced rewards are certainly in there.
  4. Nope, new trial is not available... at least not from the LFG thingy.
  5. Very disappointed that the collection system made it in like it was (if it behaves the same as it did in Beta, anyway... still patching). It does not fit with the rest of the UI and made it even MORE clunky, unappealing, and complicated.

Well, just to give a few examples...

A game I purchased recently, which has been out since much earlier this year, had an account issue that made all new players' accounts unusable. This bug persisted for well over a week with zero developer commentary on it.

Another game that recently went free-to-play has queues on their two servers every night. While that in itself is not a bad thing, the queues last for several hours. Heaven forbid you disconnect for any reason.

Another game that's been out for.... well, longer than CoH, used to regularly have unplanned outages. When I say 'regularly', some of the playerbase began to suspect that they were actually planned outages for maintenance that they didn't want to let us know about. It was somewhat suspicious that they happened at regular times during the week, and not at peak hours either. These outages would last between 2-4 hours. 2-3 times a week.

To put it bluntly - if you're going to play a massively multiplayer online game you really have to expect downtime for maintenance on a regular basis. The team at Paragon Studios has been pretty good about giving us advance warning about this as well as fixing problems as soon as they can.
  8. How is it not creepy when you have David Bowie in a wig & tight pants singing and dancing to/with a baby in a roomful of angry puppets?

    Yep, that's what I meant.
  10. I used to be subscribed to them so I could see the new dev/community digest posts. Now it doesn't seem to update anymore - and I updated my add-on/plugin. After trying to run them with another program it seemed to just take me to the main CoH page, not even the forums at all. Am I just doing it wrong? It used to work just fine.
  11. I have had very few problems with the GMs/Customer Service with this game. Very, very few. I can think of maybe three times over the past... what... 8 years?

Hell, just yesterday I filed a naming violation ticket and didn't expect a reply... but I got one in about 5-6 minutes, they just wanted confirmation of the name, server, etc.

Oh, this is kind of on-topic too - I bought a new keyboard from a company not long ago. When I hold 'home', which is my jump key, it toggles the left shift key and also hits enter a few times. I told the company, after a little troubleshooting they're sending me a new one. The customer rep's name? Majin Buu. I am not making this up.
  12. Really don't like the idea, also don't like all the negativity that comes up whenever someone mentions AE.

My solution would be fairly simple to detail, but require real work to implement:

    1) Non-VIPs have their arcs unpublished when their subscription lapses, or when the future re-occurence of the license in the store expires.
    2) New Ratings system. "Like". No dislike option.
    3) Divide Story Arcs into different tabs. "Canon", "Non-Canon", "Social". Canon and Non-Canon story arcs would be the only ones that could be rated, *period*. Social arcs are those that people make for themselves or their friends/SG-mates to play involving their own characters and their friends' characters in custom situations. It would also be the place for people to put Farms. Social Arcs would only be available to characters that have a relation to the publishing character. Characters on that character's friend list, in the same SG/Coalition, etc.

There's more, but that's the gist of it. Each suggestion is something that others have talked about at some point or another, I don't know if they've all been brought together before.

    What Not MARTy

MARTy triggers on aggressive exploiting, or accidental exploiting with bugs. Discussing either here would be against forum rules, so you're probably not going to get many replies on it :/
  14. I like slows in PvE, especially with -recharge. -Recharge can be a huge factor in denying a mob a chance to cycle its attacks. Unfortunately, this can lead to mobs fleeing... but if they're slowed, that's not much of a problem.
  15. A while back I talked about disliking Rad Blast for defenders. The -Def is largely negligible in the end-game in my experience with the prevalence of set bonuses and other factors, liking stacking Tactics. I had played a Kin/Rad, Cold/Rad, and some corruptor Rad/? up to 50, and a Rad/Rad defender up to... 30-something. I just didn't like Rad blast.

Then someone in my SG said, "Well, have you tried it for blasters?" ..and I had to admit that I hadn't. They said I should try it. So, after a little thought, I came up with a Rad/Fire blaster. I figured I wanted a PBAE DoT machine.

I hit 47 on him last night and started to set him out, and tonight I hit 50 and finished setting him out. I didn't expect to make it past the early 30s with the character, I felt it just wouldn't work out for me. How wrong I was.

Immediately after hitting 50 and getting everything finished (or frankenslotted a little because 26 hitpoints aren't worth 212 million influence to me) I decided, "Let's see how many enemies I can take out before they get me!" I have 35% S/L defense on the character, so I carried a couple purples and some breakfrees just in case.

Not wanting to go too far, I set it for +2/x8, hit up a random Council radio mission. The mobs just melted. With Blazing Aura & Hot Feet running (with 2 damage procs in both) I have pretty good ticks of damage going up just passively. Then you add in Irradiate, Combustion, and all the minions are dead. The lieuts die after the Fire Sword Circle. The bosses are swept aside with a couple passes of Neutron Bolt, X-Ray Beam, & Cosmic Goo Ball each. I think I got hit twice in the first group, nothing substantial. Now, while I'm aware that many blasters can achieve the same sort of thing with just one or two powers, I was not really expecting the level of survivability & damage I achieved with the character. I was very pleasantly surprised. He's an endurance hog, but it's a pretty fun character.

    What are yours?
  16. I love how a whole day goes by during the fight. Talk about epic battle!

  18. Dang, I missed today's due to a dentist appointment. Hope you start feeling better soon, VK.

Guess I'll have to watch it as a recording. Be forewarned, I shall gif any gaffs you give me and I don't want to hear any guff about it guys.
  19. Did not care for any of it, personally. A lot of people liked it, though.
  20. I've cancelled my subscription to save the money as things are fairly tight over here at the moment, but I will still play the game for a while, definitely. I'll be a little sad I can't post in most of the forums, though :/
  21. Disappointing at best. These expensive consumables just aren't worth it. I haven't even claimed any of the inspirations that I got for being a veteran player.

    What happen?

Most SGs will boot characters that are inactive for a certain period of time.
  23. Well, this was certainly a fun thread. Go. Hunt. Defeat Hellions.
  24. Let me just say that I think it is a crying shame that there will not be any slash fiction on the UStreams.

You ever wonder why every Task Force contact/Trainer combo has a Male & Female? You've got Posi/Valkyrie, Synapse/Mynx, Aurora Borealis/Sister Psyche (you know what's up there), Manticore/Swan, Citadel/Luminary (Male/Female robots. Uh huh.), Infernal and... um... the other chick.... I'm probably forgetting some. But the vast majority is a male/female pairing.

    ....
    ....
.... don't tell me there isn't anything going on there.
