Are you sure? Can you not see the rolls of fat and the buck teeth?
/em Hands the good Captain a new pair of glasses
How about now?

Gratz Qin, good to see you got your Scrapender to 50
-
Aye it appears so
Some piccys from the evening:
Siege map melee
The shot I got for WhiteAngel's ding!
The newest craze to hit Paragon
A group shot with WhiteAngel surrounded by Femmes and friends -
Gratz to Byrne and WhiteAngel who both dinged the big 5-0 tonight in an amazing 24-person melee against Seige.
Just awesome stuff, we steamrollered the entire map twice.
Then to celebrate it was a party in Atlas and some glam rock cossies
Thanks to everyone for a fantastic night. -
Yeah it all seemed to be going well, the mito-clearance went without a hitch and the holding phase was quite quick.
This was the first time in 3 raids that I'd been able to attack Hami directly once the attack was called so was grateful for that anyway
Thanks to all who organised, and all who attended. Was a great atmosphere and as usual a "whos-who" of Defiant which is always good to see. -
I use it as one of my many buttons to push before starting a fight. It's currently still 6-slotted with Recharge Reduction as Prox hasn't respec'd post-ED. If you get Force of Nature in the Force Mastery epic that will take CPs place in AV fights.

Aye well done to you Archy. Always fun teaming with you before, and nice to be there when it happened
-
That's correct White! I expect there will be a Femme team running round so you're welcome to join that
-
1. Don't take on more than you can deal with - Blasters are always pretty much one hit away from death.
2. Know your environment. This can be as simple as using scenery to block aggro to knowing a route back to relative safety when you have bitten off more than you can chew (see point 1). I got used to always having the map open, tucked away in the corner.
3. When teaming, make sure you let everyone know what you're doing. Create binds for pulling minions or letting off your nova power. Communication is key because if you charge in willy-nilly, the team can't help you stay alive.
4. Play tactically. Sure, those Sky Raiders you're facing do include a boss, but the one that'll cause you instant trouble is the Raider Engineer if he gets a force field up, so take him out first.
Just a few non-powerset pointers, I'm sure it's all stuff you know anyway. -
Welcome back Electro-man! Proximity remembers pretty much every Defender she teamed with as they were the only things keeping her upright
-
If I agree with Harv, does that mean I'm being cliquey?
I think that there are three aspects to this, all having a knock on (or knockback) effect:
1. The general spam/abuse on broadcast and Arena. This has always been a small problem, now it appears to be growing.
2. The fact that the longer people play the game, the more "cliquey" they become. Not using clique as a derogatory term, just raising an observation that because people have been teaming with a few other people for a long time, either as SGs or coalitions or just as a group of friends, that becomes their "social circle" and it gets harder for "outside" people to break in to it.
3. The advent of Global Chat. There's just so many ways to communicate now that stuff can get lost. I think I'm a fairly well known player in a well established SG and I have made lots of friends on here. As soon as I log in, I can be using SG chat, coalition chat, Global chat channels, tells, and team chat to talk to people. And that means I'm not playing the game with full concentration. Especially a problem when I'm playing as my Empath, and responding to a tell could mean someone on the team dies. Now, this isn't me saying "no-one talk to me", this is my saying that maybe we are having a conversation, and my team needs attention, well, I'm gonna give it to the team rather than send back a tell.
I'm always conscious that people start chatting to me and I don't always respond, however it's never because I don't want to talk to my friends. If someone's saying "got to go, bye" and I'm in my Enhancements screen, that doesn't mean I haven't said "bye" on purpose. However, it does perhaps compound the "cliquey" image. -
Teamed with Urbane over the weekend. Wow! As a fellow Blaster I applaud his reckless abandon regarding debt... But I was teaming with him as my Empath, and just could not keep the bugger alive!
Pleased (and amazed) for you Urbs

I chose Force Mastery for my epic on my Enery/Energy Blaster. I chose REpulsion Filed over PFF, mainly because it's fun to throw Hellions all over Atlas Park
Temporary Invulnerability is very useful, and Force of Nature is something I tend to use against AVs.
Overall it's a very nice set. -
Gratz Rogue, nice to see another Energy/Energy Blaster hit the top
-
The Femme Fatales are 1 year old today, according to co-founder, Famke.
I've had a huge amount of fun since I joined the Femmes in May, with a whole load of friendly people around to help in teams, it makes the game a lot better. I hope we have tried to also gain a good, friendly reputation within the community too and I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing the Femme Fatales SG a happy birthday -
There's a discussion in the player questions thread about Nova, and one of my pieces of advice was to create a bind that lets people on your team know you're going to perform your "nuke" move.
So all those Blasters with their level 32 powers, what did you bind to tell the team, or your targets, that you were about to go and nuke?
I had two for Proximity:
"I'm going Nova, keep an eye on my behind!"
and the less cocky "Pass me an Awaken, I'm about to go Nova!" -
Pre-ED, once I used my free respec at level 21 to get Stamina, my hold playstyle changed. No more waiting for Endurance, just blast. Highly, highly recommended as Krunch says.
Other Power Pools with Proximity:
Speed, for Hasten and Super Speed which I took really late (my 49 power, more for convenience really)
Fly, like you. Nuff said really, although I did swap out Hover for Air Superiority once Hover gave virtually no defence bonus.
Concealment - found this a real boon in the mid-levels. Stealth and Invis meant I wasn't drawing unnecessary attention to myself. -
Yep, if Fort is available and not being used, go stick it on someone! Make sure the squishies are CMed. Work out the best time to drop RA/RegenA.
Empathy isn't just about heals, it's about buffs too. A well-buffed team is a happy team! -
Gratz Shpongle, only teamed a few times but always fun with you around
-
On Moonlit Shadow I'm not running Stamina. If you're mainly buffing/healing you don't need it, and once you get RA you can start shooting at everything knowing your endurance won't drop
-
So it seems a lack of fashion sense isn't a hindrance to reaching the top anymore :P
Well done Onex! -
I've been finding it a really tough job to get teams once Moonlit hit 30-ish.
-
Gratz Sham, only teamed with you once, but it was last weekend, so thought I'd add my congratulations too
