  1. Justice ain't bad. Good for off-hours teaming as well.
  2. C'mon, Professor Backfire is just about to hit 30...

    Going Rogue?

I don't really see why reformed villains can't use patron powers. The arcs seem to basically involve beating up the patron and stealing their techniques after all.

As for the Arachnos member pets... consider Bob, agent of HYDRA.

"Praetoria's a pretty cool place, but you've been taking some odd missions lately, boss... wait, where are we going? Paragon City, are you crazy! I don't wanna go to Paragon and be a goody two shoes! I don't wanna!"

I've also seen these called "Pool Boy" builds.

[/ QUOTE ]Just make sure to keep your poolboy away from the space pirate amazon ninja catgirls.

    I have one of those.

Every time people talk about their ages on this forum, I feel like the youngest one here.

Write a list for me, Steelclaw!

    A list for you, hmm?

    Fine.

Signs You're Too YOUNG to Play City of Heroes

    - Most common reason for getting kicked off a team: Extended absences for diaper changes.

    - You've had to replace 10 keyboards so far this year due to Urpies.

    - You think flash drives make great pacifiers.

    - The first thing you think of when you see Doc Delilah is "OH! LUNCH!!"

    - As a follow-up: Playing with the boob slider makes you hungry.

    - Your mommy insists you call them the Heckions.

    - You wanna play with ATLAS's ball!!

    - You don't like Wentworth's because they don't have a toy or candy section.

    - You were disappointed when you learned what CoH Skittles really are.

    - You always play a brute right before nappy time 'cause you're cranky.

    - You're upset that none of the cape options are a towel wrapped around the neck.

    - You're pretty sure that most of the Devouring Earth are under your bed at night.

    - ... and Captain Mako is in your closet.

    - The Zig and your crib both have bars.. and both are as easy to escape from.

    Thank you.
  6. The best reason to do a TF is costume pieces.
  7. And yeah, comments on video sites are completely worthless.
  8. Look on the bright side, I don't think newbs are actually getting powerlevelled anymore. If anything they're levelling slower than before.

How can you say the graphics are dated? Have you guys not played WoW? That came looks like it belongs on a supernintendo. This game blows that game away graphically. No contest whatsoever.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Let's not be stupid.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes, SNES graphics were amazing. I still say that console held the pinnacle of 2D gaming. Starwing (Star Fox to you Yanktownians) was pretty smooth for its primitive polygons too.
  10. Time to bust out that credit card and buy some more. If you've already done that... then yikes.

You do know there are bosses when you play on a team, right?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Not for long!
  12. [ QUOTE ]
which is a shame because fighting harder things are not rewarded properly IMO.

It's like why would you set customized mob to Extreme when they drop the same exp/tickets?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Because you hate people.

    respeccing

If you have power slotted with more than three of the same type of enhancement, the additional ones are being wasted.

Pretty much every power in the game has been affected by changes since launch, one way or the other.

I assume you're Assault Rifle/Devices (your Origin is completely cosmetic), right? Those powersets have received serious changes since I registered, and in the Issue before last several Assault Rifle powers were severely altered. You probably need a respec much more than you think.
  14. I got a bunch of those cards with the CoV Collector's Edition (with the Heroclix figures, also incidentally discontinued). Wonder if they'll be collector's items someday.

Were people constantly taking lowbies before they even knew what game content there was and mass PLing them in some other manner?

Being a noob is one thing. It just doesn't seem like this was a problem concerning new people before. Wasn't it mostly just alts of ppl using the PL system?

    [/ QUOTE ]
The fact that it was reactivation weekend during the PL frenzy didn't help at all.
  16. Weird, nearly all my characters have either jackets or power armour regardless of gender.

Or in the one girl's case, my best approximation of what was the height of fashion in the 1970's. In monochrome. (she's a ghost, y'see)

  18. I think the AE might actually be a great help in getting the crafting badges. Do some mishes, spend half your tickets on recipes, the other half on common salvage- fill your try and you should have whatever you need. Plan ahead.
  19. And to be honest, steamrolling is rewarding. You get all the rewards from beating all those enemies, it's fairly idiot-proof and very fun.

Though if it's 2am or something, it's understandable if you wanna get it over with quick.

The only positive thing is that I know that when I buy a Booster pack it helps for the development costs so that all players may enjoy other content. However, I think that limiting all the very cool emotes and costume pieces to Booster packs will create a have and have-nots segregation for players that is not conducive to the community. Everyone should be able to enjoy high-collars, labcoats and slick Valkyrie armor.

Frankly, I think it hurts the community when these pieces are not available to the general player. New costume pieces create excitement; limiting them just creates resentment.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Very well said. More and more, I feel like I'm playing one of those free-to-play-with-microtransactions MMOs instead of the AAA sub-based MMO I signed up for. The I15 costume pieces compared to the booster pack stuff is a real joke.

They could do what WoW did. Make a gard game, have a rare card with a code to get an item that doesn't really do anything for you but for looks.

Would that make you feel better about it? And WoW has millions of players. Many of them who bought the cards, don't actually play the CCG, but wanted the codes (and certain ones at that)...I know this!

I watched my friends buy them! When I heard about one of them, I was almost tempted to listen to their pleas to join them in WoW. >.> I didn't though! I swear! WoW is sooo boring to me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I believe they had plans for such a card game actually.
I don't know if it ever got published, I am not much into card games.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I've seen a 'Leeroy Jenkins' card, so I think it did.

There's a Warcraft pen and paper RPG as well (think Dungeons and Dragons), with a WoW expansion.
  21. Given that most AE farmers these days are completely incompetent, we should be telling newbies that they're deluded and the best way to level is with story arcs and Task Forces.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
I can't wait to get on a team with 4 or 5 trollers all spamming a different colored rain power so we can all go into instant seizures.

    [/ QUOTE ]
...I'd just drop some acid and enjoy the ride.

Power Pool Man? At least, that's what mine was called, until I drunkenly deleted him (damn you, Pinnacle server!!!!).

    [/ QUOTE ]
Are you sure you didn't drunkenly create him?
  24. We need to start spreading the word that AE farms are NOT the best way to level by any means, but are in fact a difficult, boring exercise in frustration that involve much more debt than XP.
