Next time, on City Of Heroes!!!
...wait, wrong medium. -
When I first played my Peacebringer, I stood next to Ms Liberty blasting away at aliens, and dinged. So I trained right then and there and immediately started blasting away with my new attack.
I don't see the problem. -
Yeah, I got all the badges now I'm "Now what?"
I might go ToT. -
And even fewer people get it from the radio. I really doubt the Rogue Isles has internet filters (and if they do, damn near everyone would get around them), the news would be all over the place. Shutting down a single radio station would do zilch.

Just got off Justice. There's hundreds of people just getting together for the Deadly Apocalypse events. When people say this game is dying, I laugh.

Quote:That's how I started. Now I have twelve.I'm probably one of the few who don't suffer from 'altitis'. After nine months of play, I have just seven characters, two at 50, three in the upper 30's or mid 40's and two in the mid-20's.
I don't really consider any of them as the main character or an alt character, but I don't ignore any of them. They are all separate 'projects', if you might want to look at it that way. The two 50's are ready for a respec now that they've built up considerable influence (hero-side) while the others are still evolving.
These characters have enough to do on their own that I don't feel the need to roll up a new one just yet. I started with one, then three, then five, then seven. It took some time to learn how to just manage multiple characters and I'm careful not to overdo it. Maybe I'll roll an eighth or ninth in the meantime, just to try out a new archetype and power set combination, but for now, the seven characters I have, the two 50's included, have a lot yet to develop and play out. -
And the mission concept is stupid anyway. Who the hell gets their news from TV anymore?

I'm Australian, and I have the US version of the game. Are you sure they have the Europe version?

Quote:That was a gag in The Curse Of Fatal Death. I don't think they'd ever do it seriously. This may sound crazy but I would like to see a Doctor regenerating into a woman, but not for a full season. I would like to see that perhaps in a movie where he regenerates into a woman and is forced to regenerate again by the end of the movie. Also, no hottie, I would like to see an average woman past her 40s doing the Doctor. Heck, lets go radical: Whoopi Goldberg as the doctor!

That and the game has a wide variety of chat options and settings that are visible to a trial player, even if he can't use them. I don't think a player is going to play for long without finding out about Broadcast.

This game makes a lot of effort to avoid the 'raid treadmill' that people complain about in other MMOs. The content is made to be more inclusive, faster (but not necessarily easier) and with more variety than the 'standard' MMO.

Quote:There isn't. Time Lord is to Gallifreyan as Human is to Earthling. No one really knows the extent of Regeneration really... it's a bit odd.
Romana, a female Time Lord "tried on" several different forms, including different species before settling on one.
There have been suggestions (such as from the script writer) that this can only be done if the process in voluntarily and not if a Time Lord is on the brink of death.
But then of course, is the fact that all other Time Lords have looked like humans... so that's obviously the "default" look of a Time Lord... and then there's the fact that if you changed species, would you still have two hearts?
We're not sure. She didn't regenerate, she'd need a new appearance for that, I think it was the terraforming device that restored her.
Now... whether she's a Time Lord or "just" a Gallifreyian is something else.
Of course, the differences between Gallifreyians and Time Lord is never really expanded on... that is, if there is a difference at all...
Doctor Who history is all over the freaking place. -
Oh dear god the lag.

Quote:You're the one making it a whinefest.I think some of you have mistaken this thread as a whine fest. I don't like to do that whole thing. When I posted the thread of course I know there would be some opposition to a degree. BUT you can't say that you play on a team and you never once thought to yourself, "Man, I was doing my thing back there an no one noticed." I'm not saying I should be the one getting all the praises and parades and stuff, but sometimes when THEY (not you because you would NEVER do that) single out one person on the team for a kudos it's like....didn't that scrapper just AoE the hell out of that mob? Didn't that blaster do some serious blastage? And I was talking in particular about Dark/. I was pointing out how underrated it was. If you thought I wanted a pity party then save it. In general I wanted basically say "Dark Miasma is a beast? Why don't more people notice?" I hate it when you have a few party poopers who misinterpret some statements and turn it around to be something it really wasn't.

So after reviewing the news since I've been gone, I once again come to the conclusion that Americans are crazy.
That's why I like you guys. -
If you're gonna be an encyclopedia of useless knowledge, you might as well flaunt it to those who appreciate that knowledge.

Quote:I like to think that what they've seen you do makes them think, it doesn't matter if you're a flying space squid, a giant rock monster or a superpowered stripper, you're a true hero in their eyes. For me, it was with pax, my triform peacebringer. "you want your kid to be a giant flying tapeworm, really?" also, i get a giggle any time an npc makes fun of my outfits...because they are more correct than they even know.

Quote:I thought LotG cost 250 merits? You will not break even at 500k; crafting fee is 460k and the recipe is anywhere from 80k to 120k. You also spend a market slot and time waiting for the crafted enhancement to sell. Generally, unless you have the recipe memorized (and in that case, why are you not vendoring the recipe?), you will not beat dedicated crafters at common IOs.
Numina's is a poor choice since it costs 250 Merits and only sells for ~70m crafted. LotG 7.5 costs only 200 Merits and sells for nearly 100m crafted. -
Funny about the BBC, Australia has its own version called the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation, inevitably confused with the American channel of the same acronym) that has roughly the same deal, though we don't have TV licenses. It took a fair bit of funding cuts in the Howard years, but then again everything did (Howard sucked). And yes, it plays Doctor Who.
The old episodes are pretty varying in quality, and tend to be pretty long. The new Who is a lot more compact (and has MUCH better special effects) than the old ones. However, the old episodes often have at least a Mystery Science Theatre 3000 kind of charm with the terrible excuses special effects and hammy acting.
Funny note; Doctor Who was originally made as an edutainment show, time-travelling through history (kind of a live-action Magic School Bus). Of course that gave way to more sci-fi fare, but the historial episodes are often some of the best ones. (Dickens, Shakespeare, Queen Victoria are all awesome characters) -
Healing ain't that big a factor; the Brute should be able to take care of himself, and Doms tend to appreciate buffs. That and as a Mastermind, your base heal/buff numbers are very low compared to other support powersets.
I hear Bots/Dark is absolutely brutal, both solo and teamed. You'll have a wide variety of heals, buffs, debuffs and a rez, often in the same power. I can think of at least four different roles that could serve in a team, so I'll just say 'your teammates are optional'. -

Yeah, this game is too well balanced. If you want to play a useless class, play something else.
-
Yeah, this would be almost completely unusable for most of the game, or at the very least would suffer major clipping issues.
