EDIT: Found that video you were talking about above, seems they use Cloaking Device but looking at Mids, Stealth gives a high stealth rating so i am going for that instead. -

That being said, another question comes to mind, what exactly is Assualt rifle good for?
I get it has a bonus to accuracy, but so does archery and that has a faster attack speed and more damage on its final move too.
Plus Full Auto takes 6 seconds to animate. if it was a strategic set i could understand, but other than ignite there seems to be no strategy to it.
Am i wrong? -
Just a quick question i was wondering about, does time bomb and trip mine break stealth?
Meaning would it be possible to stealth into a mob (either through cloaking device or stealth pool power), drop a time bomb, go and hide then watch the fireworks? -

Didn't want to stick my nose back in here, but I hate it when people make that spelling mistake/typo for some reason. It really winds me up.
Personally, cool, I've never seen the need for large numbers of ranged attacks on a Scrapper. I don't like Spines for that reason. It's supposed to be a melee AT. The fact that people are constantly suggesting ranged sets for Scrappers just shows they want the world on a plate.

Strongly agree with that, a scrapper doesnt want ranged attacks, otherwise you might as well just have a blaster. The thing they should be asking is a possible form of DB/kat/BS/claws on blaster as a secondary set, with the occasional changed power. -

LMAO that would be awesome but highly unlikely, i was thinking more of a matrix style jump when i wrote that, like a backflip firing bullets as he/she goes, then landing in a crouch position, arms either side and firing two more before standing up. -

Also set a mastermind on a blaster and there dead.
Set a Dominator on a blaster and it very much depends on who has first hit.
These are all the villians ive personally raised to 50 i havent tried a brute or corrupter. I suspect they will have problems though.

I dont play any other game, maybe you do, but i dont. Its only lopsided because people dont like playing villains, ironically because of the lack of people on it, i mean have you tried getting a team recently? theres like one team for every ten levels. -
I started this thread ages ago before the changes to stalker were made though so i havent had chance to play my stalker lately.
Its good to see they were looked at though, and yes i definately agree now blasters need looking at after playing mine and two shotting a tank (ok he was a fire tank but still) -

Sorry but do you think that stalkers should have no res to holds slow etc? if you do then what would you replace it with? stalkers have res to this kind of attack yes but you can still hold them slow them, im sorry but to me your whole argument is wrong you just need to get better at pvp as it seems to me your whole argument is based on nerfing an already weak AT just so you can beat it.

One last thing OMG you are moaning about that when hero side has had empathy all this time, a good empath in pvp will always tip the balance a buffed blaster is just a killing knightmare its about time villains will soon be able to match this kind of power in pvp

First of all the reason you say heroes is overpowered is simply the fact that its more popular, as more people play it. This doesnt help with a lot of people complaining theres more lag over there.
'The edge' your talking about is blasters and scrappers, i assume. Neither of which can take down a well played stalker, and no im not saying it because i cant beat them, im saying it because I have one, an energy/SR stalker is god, end of.
As for the resists i didnt say remove them, i didnt say anything i dont think actually tbh lol, point i was trying to make though is lower there resists when out of hide to holds etc, to stop the regular hit and run forest run tactic, this being said though out of hide there damage is pretty rubbish so i think that needs putting up a bit whilst lowering there crit a little.
I know this is going to get flames all over place, reason i said this is because then classes with weaker resists would just get two hitted thinking what just happened? They do need a boost in damage out of hide though to deal with tankers etc.
Finally as far as pain domination goes, if you learned to read full paragraphs you'd realise i was complaining about mastermind getting it, not corrupter. I have an empath defender myself so i know how it can help in the right pvp situation, i agree villains need it, just not on mastermind.
A mastermind made to heal and buff pets is just basically another fire/kin controller which already needs something done, any class that can solo an AV has something wrong... -

Just random thought while browsing the forum, do IO set boosts like +hp +damage etc also count towards your nova or dwarf forms?
If not they should! -
lol nice idea but it would fail if you dont stay in forms, reason being you get no boosts from each other where as in other normal teams you would.

a simple buff for kheldians would be a type of epic for them to make to forms more playable.
At the minute i would argue to the end that nova form is useless, as i can deal as much, if not more damage in human form and not worry about the fact i have about as much resistance as a paper mache bath tub.
Whilst it is annoying that whilst in your Dwarf *tank* form you cant actually tank very well because you cant hold agro.
This leaves a lot of players going human form only, missing out the forms. Stamina is still a massive problem though, unless you get conserve energy, but that has a stupidly long timer even when slotted.
Im not saying give these powers like blasters defiance or tankers gauntlet. Im think more along the lines of three epic pool sets for each form, one human,one nova, one dwarf.
in these sets you could have for Nova form, currently being outdamaged, maybe another superior damage attack, or some minor resistence, depending on what it is makes it more balanced. Dwarf could have a second taunt, or a couple more melee aoe attacks. Whilst human could poss get something similar to stamina or maybe minor resistance to psy damage.
Of course like all epics, you would only get to pick one set and these are just a couple of ideas off the top of my head so feel free to flame me
Either way something needs to be done. Epic AT's that dont feel special and feel underpowered doesnt seem right.
I managed to get my PB playable but it was damn hard work and took a lot of respecs and hours on mids. -
My take on this is whatever you decide to make them into, they will be, if you want to play them controller, its possible if you want to play them tank, its possible if you want to play blaster, you can etc.
It just depends on your power selection and your preference.
just to brag a little, i think ive actually discovered a PB that is GOOD in solo pvp.
Your not finding out what it is though yet so nya nya lol
Edit: the only classes you cant really play them as are masterminds and stalkers, everything else is possible in my opinion. -

Getting a similar problem myself, ticket below sent to support:
While playing, my monitor "switches itself off" during gameplay. The Monitor goes blank, then shows the message "No Signal" as if the PC was switched off and then the LED turns amber to go to powersaveing mode.
This can happen within 5 minutes of logging on or 2 hours, but once it has switched off there is no way to get the image bak (have tried switching the monitor back on at the switch, still get the same "No Signal" message and the monitor LED goes to amber), and the only option I have is to reset the PC.
I am currently dual booting with Vista 64bit which I know you do not support, so have fresh installed onto XP home edition as well on a seperate partition and am still getting the same problem.
I thought I had temporarily solved the problem as I normally have dual screen setup and I setup with only one monitor, I was no longer getting the "No Signal" message, however instead the screen would go blank for a second, then close COH and a message stating "A driver had stopped responding and has been succesfully recovered". Doing some research into this message, I then tried the single monitor on XP, which still gave me the "No Signal" message, and now having gone back to Vista 64, even with the single monitor I am again getting the "No Signal" message.
I am using a Athalon 5200 Processor with a 8800GT card.
I have tried the 175.19 drivers (current recommended, also tried rolling back to 175.16 and also the 175.83 drivers, I have ensured each time I have changed them that the old ones were uninstalled and that I ran Driver Cleaner 1.5 to ensure all traces were gone.
I have also checked all other drivers (motherboard and soundcard) are fully up to date.
Have sent DXDIAG and Everest reports to support as well, they have let me know it is a known issue, but don't have a fix as yet.
Anyone got any idea's please?

I think from previous experience with mine you need to turn down your resolution a little, it did it with me too for a while, i dont understand it either but it worked fine after i put it down one setting.
Also check your settings on your computer arent set to 'Force' anything because that causes a lot of bugs. -
ugh next is shields and pain domination, pain domination clearly going to overpower masterminds, shields being another fave of month thing till people get bored of making conan and captain america lol.
think im going to roll a villain next, they seem to be getting all the loving lately when it comes to updates -
Experienced players can team stalkers very effectively, but other ATs that team are often 'more than the sum of their parts', such as the Tanker taunting foes while his teammate uses interuptible powers, or the defender/controller buffs, etc, etc.

Im using the GeForce Release 175 drivers on a Geforce 8400 GS on XP.
Basically the drivers increased my speed a fair bit when i put it on, but randomly now i will get a lag spike until i do /reloadgfx
Also since updating the drivers i get a lot of game freezes, where the entire computer just stops responding and needs to be manually reset.
Ive reverted now and its fine again, although a fair bit slower lag wise compared to GeForce Release 175 driver. -
Also the powers lag is happening a lot, more so on certain maps i found out, a few members of our team on one arachnos mission were waiting 3 seconds per attack click before they actually fire, they just had a red ring around the attacks then they eventually fired, it was barely playable, several team members left because of it.

Ive discovered a problem, using the new drivers for geforce 8 or 9 series cards causing problems in coh.
Pre update the drivers were fine but upon updating it removed a lot of the lag, im thinking this has to do with the bloom and water effects update earlier but it is causing the game to lockup every so often and just freeze so the entire computer needs to be rebooted, im not sure if its a client issue or a driver issue but either way it was fine before i updated, ive reverted the drivers back and tried to reinstall but no difference.
Also in general the entire server performance has dropped. lost connection to mapserver is common now in missions for most people with decent connections, and last night just as we were about to start the first terra volta respec tf, i was sked by a higher member of team and everyone in teams computer just crashed and needed resetting, windows keys wouldnt work or anything.
Finally i think just about everyone has had the problem when using wentworths, taking ages to load then when it finally loads it says lost connection to mapserver.
Either way theres definately more reliability issues than what has been listed currently. -
The thing ive found about pvp with kheldians is it relys on how well you know your setup and what to do in certain situations.
as for the Mez prot just buy the impervious skin mez prot, also the psionic one helps too on impervium armor, thats a hefty bit of cash but since you already have 50s its not that big a problem :P
the arguement i make is: Nova form, is it obsolete?
The damage it deals is pretty bad for its lack of resistence. I personally dont even see a use for it as human form can deal almost if not more damage.
Dwarf i use more of a panic button, if your attempts to stop someone getting close fail, spam your melees, hit a breakfree and go dwarf tp and heal then switch back, attacking in dwarf is pointless.
Seems to be working for me so far anyway in Sirens but things may change later level ^^ -
if you make stalkers much less 'i win' combat then I know my entire sg would pvp more.
Sick and tired of the stupid 2 hit deaths they manage on all but tankers, even the +perception does nothing unless you happen to be carrying a full pouch of yellows AND use them at the right time.
Also the fact that certain classes perform better in pvp is just the same because if people want to pvp they will make one of those sets.
A good way to get pvp going would be to offer some kind of reward for killing a certain amount of villains/heroes etc like a costume piece or something, rather than just the one badge, award more for maybe 10 kills/defeats etc.
As it is there is no reason for people to want to pvp, which suits the devs just fine because it solves all the flaming posts on the boards saying 'Zomg nerf dis NOWZ'
P.s I notice the irony that i complained over stalkers before i wrote the last paragraph lol. Its 6:10am and im tired :P
