That's AWESOME!

Well I couldn't keep my hands offa this one so here's one more

In the first two Ebony Pale wallpapers I chose to use two discordant camera angles. If you look, you will see that the camera that was used to take Ebony's pic was placed low to the ground looking up at her and the camera for the background pic was placed high looking down. The resulting manip was supposed to look off-kilter. As if you were looking at a Seussian type world ( Seussian? WTH? ). I think it did achieve the feeling I was after but in the end I guess I just didn't like it as much as I thought I would. The new wallpaper has more standard camera angles. Plus the coffin is fun!

Just wanted to say I have always liked your bio and story. I saw your pics and really wanted to just play around and add a third color. I hope you don't mind. I did forget to add the goggles which I liked alot in your design btw. Anyway here's a different take for you.

Meh. I just noticed that I actually have two shades of black in the design. I meant to go in and darken the black on the gloves and the torso to all match. The intent was that they all be the darker shade. Oh well you get the idea

You know this makes me remember a tip someone gave me years ago that I follow to this day. To get a different perspective on your work, invert the image. This used to mean that I would carry my sketchbook to a mirror and look at the image but with PS now you can just flip it digitally and see how it looks.

Huh, down in the super-speed glow there seem to be black horizontal lines. Is that on purpose? Is my machine displaying correctly?

It is yes, I tried to incorporate some scan lines into the pic. These lines are actually all over the pic with the exception of the area inside the reticle. The idea was that the scene was being viewed by an android or perhaps through high-tech binoculars or of course through some form of scope. I was a bit unsure of the scan lines myself, if they meshed well with the erst of the design or not.

Here is the same design minus the scan lines.

Well I'll throw in my two inf. here.

I don't really know too much about WP bio but based on the way he looks he seems very much a champion of light. Not a Dark Knight type but a true "do-gooder". Please don't take that term negatively at all. I LOVE that style of hero and it was in fact my very first level 50.

Shameless plug...

Anywaaayyy. There seems to be trend to do an opposite take for the Arch-Villian and go with a dark theme. Nothing wrong with that but it got me thinking today.

What would WP really hate? What would inspire him to pursue this new villian beyond the norm? To really dispise the Bad Guy?

What if the bad guy was just like him? Well almost. I picture a villian who very much embodies all the things WP does but taken to an extreme that is so far it becomes evil. A bright shining anglelic figure with perhaps huge resources (bankroll) who wants to rid the world of unsavory elements TOTALLY. A guy who doesnt want the refuse of society clogging up his utopian dream at all. Maybe even a guy who is generally adored by the public. This could be anything from a real misguided angel like in the "Constantine" movie to a more "Luthoresque" golden boy with huge pockets and the publics favor.

They may have even been friends initially until it becomes obvious to WP that his "friend" will go to ANY means to achieve his goal of a perfect, trouble free society.

Just a different spin for ya. Good luck with this.

Unfortunately I don't really take requests but it's flattering that you asked. This is just something I do in my spare time when I get inspired.

As for tips. That's a tough one. It sound slike you were wanting tips to make the borders maybe? They are all different depending on the theme of the hero. ( I know I know "What do you mean they are all different? They're all LIGHTNING!" )

The lightning effect is an action that I downloaded for free and modify to work with layers other than type. I can't find it again to save my life. It even looks like the site I got it from may be gone.

I would definately post the action's link if I could find it again. It's called Shock v2.0 and the author's email was meyerinchain@hotmail.com when he created the action if that helps any. The blur efeect is a native Photoshop filter called radial blur set to the zoom style.

Thanks Lily! Yeah that lightning effect is fun. I used it too much for awhile because I was so taken with it myself. It's an action I downloaded for text effects. With some careful tweaking though you can use it for just about anything really. I,m trying to find you the link right now.
