That's pretty short notice. Also, you might be able to pick up some people you see that are LFT in places of appropriate level, RWZ, or Pocket D, as those tend to have players who know something. Possibly.
If it wasn't 9a I might have gone along, as I have no idea what we're talking about. -
Quote:Again, get out of Atlas.i just resubed and i am on freedom and all i see if people looking to farm
Even as low as level 5 you can go to Kings Row, which has many fewer people, but you don't get the broadcast spam. From KR you go to Steel Canyon, then Talos island, which you can hang out it until your 40s if you feel like, though I've started growing fonder of Founders Falls, where you should be in the 30s, since I've been taking flight as my travel power. FF is horrible if you have Super Speed only.
And one thing to remember, the broadcast spammers in Atlas are not the majority, they are just the loudest. That said, if you are over level 7, there is no reason to be there. Heck, if I did farm I'd go to the RWZ for the peace and quiet. -
Quote:Get out of Atlas park.i might transfer servers cuz all i see on freedom is people looking to farm nomatter what time of day it is
If you're in your 20s, head to Talos Island. The train goes nearly everywhere these days, except Parigrine Island, which kind of suffers the same farmyness as Atlas, but at about 30%. And there are no broadcast spammers there.
Like Turg said, starting your own team will really help you. I know it's daunting, but after you get on some teams it'll be easy to understand that it's nothing.
To get on a team, obviously broadcast "lv 20 scrapper lft" or LF Tips if that's what you want. But you'd want to be in talos for that. And leading a team, you'd have to be in Talos.
You don't nessesarily have to make "a team." Often I'll join up with a person who just broadcast "Need a few to help with mishs."
Team Leader:
1. You may want to read the guide listed in the Guide to Guides in the guide section here. It was really valuable to me.
2. Get some missions up or tips or a radio to get mishs.
3. "Lv 20 tip team forming pst" PST means please send tel, or private message. Though generally you can pick up people who are just LFT. Also using the search to find people is good, better in fact. That way you can make sure you have an aggro holder. I like picking up controllers. "Control is better than damage."
4. Set the mishs quickly. No one likes to stand around.
5. Don't level up. Period. During the time you're a leader. Your job is to set up mishs. Once in them, you're just there. I'll often say "Jojo, you're lead tank." and that's that. You're the leader, you just delegated authority.
6. Say things like gj and always cg when someone levels. You're going to set the tone for your team. Even if you don't want to type much, a little ty or gj goes a long way.
7. "omw" or "getting more" is something people want to hear when the inevitable standing around happens.
All this is in the guide, and put forward better. It even mentions the drop/tel you do when you get a person who dcs or something when you're leaving a mish.
To play with some good players who know what they're doing, sign up for Meg/Mr.E/Luna's stuff. That's most of what I play these days. There's also the fire/radiation controllers which meet at 8pm on the dirt hill in Talos every monday and the Dual Pistol team which is on Thursday nights. A plant superteam runs at 1pm on Saturdays but their time moves around a lot. And I know that Hyperstrike and WT[something] who run the frads and plants, respectively, are really polite and will look for you once you have been with them a few times.
OK, that's a long message. -
Quote:Keyboard stuff:i am just looking for someone the help me with like UI/keyboard shortcuts, how to trade, how to switch over from good to evil. that kind of stuff. i am not asking for someone to walk me over the whole game manual. i am eastern time and my handle is @zildjain1
My first thing I'd suggest it turn off autorun. It's either B or R. /bind [key] nop will remove that keybind. There is a massive collection of useful binds here in the guides.
Other than that Ctrl+ and Alt+ 1-9 will use the alternate trays. For UI setup ideas, take a look at some of the screenshots around here. Though some setups I can't imagine how the person can actually play with it like that.
I bind the alternate+ bar to my numpad keys. I also keep a tray at tthe top of my screen with tp powers, self destruct, and mystic fortune, etc.

Check out the Marketing forum. Buy low, sell high.
Good -> Evil:
Once above level 20 you'll start having Tips show up. Under contacts there is a tab for Tips. Pick them and pick which direction you want to go. You can get up to 5 mishs toward your 10 to change over to the next step each day. Once you have 10 total, say Vigilante points, you get an alignment mission. Run it and you'll change from Hero to Vigilante. Then you have access to everything except the villain Ouroboros. Visiting Redside, get tips, run 10, change to villain. Same thing in reverse. -

The game has gotten very deep and very complex if you want to know all the ins and outs of it.
I started typing a huge paragraph about what to do from level 1. But I that could go on forever. -
Quote:Exactly.Taunt the power just allows you to apply the threat multiplier from range, and affect much more targets then Gauntlet will normally allow to you do.
Quote:Now ice/ has 2 auras, that pulse every few seconds, that apply this same 1000x multiplier to the ice tankers attacks, basically making 'taunt' the power redundant, unless you both need, and have a way to maintain range threat, which on a tanker is limited to only epic power pools, or select powers with limited recharge (taunt -> hurl will allow you to build threat from range, but that blaster who nuked in melee range will pull threat right off you pretty quick, even though you used taunt)
And if that blaster comes in and nukes and everyone's not dead, they suck and I will let them die, which they won't as enemies love an ice tank. I hate to let a blapper live, but it happens. -
Crud, not bringing my SoA...wrong Ouroboros. I'll be there with Toro.

-
Yeah, I need dwarf tits.
[geez, I hope they don't keylog me at work.] -
The forum has hundreds of Fire/SS builds floating around. If you don't see threads that help in the first couple of pages, do a search using two of the key powers. Maybe "embrace stomp."
I have a fire/ss stalled at 28 or so that I was growing to be a fire farmer [until I started playing with the CEBR brute fad.] and I'm using a build that's just considered the gold standard. Sure, lacks originality, but sometimes, especially for something like a pure farmer, you want efficiency. Let your costume be your originality.
That said, if this isn't a farmer...like...nevermind. -
Ali, while I agree we ice tanks can hold aggro like a bucket, I am a taunt taker because sometimes the defender [or other squish] gets some aggro and backs way up, but is still getting pummeled. I'll pull those off him.
Now, I will hop over sometimes, and that works. But if I have to jump over my other squishies to do it, that means my enemy fanclub will walk though them to get to me if I spend too much time.
It's a tool in the toolbox. I use it. Others don't. -
Quote:I did read that, but there have been so many words [so...many...words...] since then.As I mentioned in the OP, you only fight the 2 spawns around the ramp (in the old map) plus the ambushes.
Ok, so there's an old map [the one I'm on with the ramps] and now a new map [which I figure I'll find when I search for "cebr doc" once I finish this arc], anyone else have a favorite they're running? Just thinkin' variety. -
I feel very dumb and discouraged since I am dying constantly.
Here's my MO:
- hasten if up, field on, spin on.
- buy def/use def while buying in F1, buy resist and use in F1, max damage bonus.
- Run into +1/8 w bosses.
- Run up ramp and aggro them then down to the end of the hall we were orignally facing and fight. Sometimes Mr. Alpha is not here. Watch the dam/def/res and apply what I've got, but eventually just spam the heck out of the L1 macro.
- Alternate L1 macro with ST attack and of course spin firing when it can, dump rez/target with T macro.
- By the third group, I'm nearly out of end so I have to use it manually if I have it in the tray. Still spamming the L1 and dam bonus is down in to the 200s.
- Everything down the toilet as def drops and I'm meat. Go to hospital.
I've gotten to lv 19 with only running the first two in the arc, but with lots of deaths, at least three, each time.
So, am I supposed to just run in, get mr. alpha, the ambushes, and out? Is that my problem? -
Bringin' my huntsman since it sounds we'll have at least a half team of SoA. Hoo Boyeeee!
edit: If we're hurting for Tanks, I'll bring Toro. -
Edit: Huntsman is now level 30 so I might bring her.
-
I know I was only an alt, but the reason I didn't show was my INTERNET WAS OUT!!!
I had to watch a dvd. And went to be early. -
[QUOTE=SpikyShane;3822049I'd love, just once, to have a slower run of the TF just so I can take it all in and learn what I have to do and where to do it.[/QUOTE]
I've never run it fast-fast. Never a run less than 50 minutes.
I guess in a speed run you just run away from the ambushes? -
-
Hmm. I've never heard it doing that. In fact, just had a veteran-veteran player tell me last night to avoid the temptation for the crab powers as I'm a huntsman [with bane poison ray and buildup].
-
If you ever pick a crab power ever, even if you respec out, you will forever have the backpack.
-
I'll alt on this.
Not sure if my Saltier ever got this. I'm kinda off Lady Gray these days. -
-
I've been showing up Mondays with my ice tank, but if even one SoA is there, I'll change to my huntsman. Just picked up surveillance, but just the 30% damage boost [both assaults] and venom grenade make it possible for us to melt things. 15+15+20*+20 = 70% -Resist equivalent.
*Or 40 if we've got a venom user. So 90% then.
Do PB/WS get any boost from VEATs on the team? -
What? Don't be put off from hibernating between groups if you need that. I'm ice/dark so I got heals all over the place.
-
The 22 merits in 22 minutes rule was broken. Boo hoo hoo. We did ours with zero deaths in 36 min.
Totally dig that dude's tiara.
