  1. Hated to have to leave tonight. My ISP hasn't fully recovered, possibly some of the most epic lagging I've ever seen, really.

  2. Sorry, I missed it. We're in North Alabama and haven't had power since Wednesday. I'm at my mother-in-law's house, which has power because she's next to one of the huge electrical substations. Everyone in her subdivision has power, and that's it, besides the traffic light nearby, slightly giving away her small island of power.

    Power should be up by this Wednesday, so I'll try to make this next one.

    But, no worries, power out isn't so bad with this great weather, and we're 4 miles from Tennessee and have eaten out twice since the tornados. Just don't try to buy gas, but breakfast buffets are easy.
  3. I'd like to bring either Saltier, fire/ice blaster, or my fire/rad controller, Kaylee Foxtrot.

    I'm still trying to decide whether to go Cardiac with her when she pings 50. Cardiac seems like such a waste. Damage control rather than uberness.

    My current project with her isn't getting the Lambda things, but replacing the higher level LotG's with level 25's. This is an asbuilt, that's why the enh are still at level 41 at times, because it doesn't make enough difference to me to change them.
  5. The +2 didn't bother us at all until then.

    Luna, yeah, the strikes don't happen below the overpasses. I fell during one and it was clear. The air strikes do seem to be unresistable auto-hit, as I popped four def and four resist insps and died instantly once attacked by the air strike and Praetor D.

    Oh, and I pinged 47.

    Am I really waiting 1.67 seconds on Blast? I regularly buzzsaw blast-ball-blaze. Just got carpal tunnel doing it on Marauder. But it sure doesn't feel like 1.67 seconds for blast. Looking at it, Flares, which I don't even keep on my toolbar, gets better dps.

    I'll have to look into how Chilblain might work into my "new way." [insert old man "hmmph" here]

    On flares, what does the 8.5 second duration mean?

  9. We had good turnout tonight. Seven of us ate the bots on the ships, ate the Sky Raiders in the ships, around the place in general, and basically did a kill all, just breezing along until the Duray Brothers.

    However, before we get into that, it is the coolest thing ever to see those bomb guys constant ambush on us as we're killing the AVs just get stuck. I don't think they were held. I think the slow stacked or they were too much in each others way, but I swear there were 50 of them in a 20 ft length on that staircase to the AV's dais.

    The Duray Brothers...well, my Frad, Kaylee Foxtrot, got to meet Charlie Foxtrot* tonight. Our AT just wasn't suited for the tp and air strikes. I'm not sure if it was a full 30 min or 45, but it got old....very old.

    One of the main problems is that if we run hot feet, we can't see the air strike symbols on the ground. It just didn't work out.

    But, up to that time a good time was had by all. Nothing like seeing six giant WarSomethings choking as tiny people throw fire on them. Ha.

  10. Have we ever considered moving our team date from a Monday to a different weekday so it doesn't compete with the Hoarde? Probably get better turnout, and I know I'd like to do both.

  12. I'm gonna run with my Frad buddies first, but since Mortimer Kel is 22 merits in 22 minutes, I figure you guys might run it more than once. I'll see what the Hoarde is up to around 10pm-ish.

    I need to make saltier an exact duplicate wardrobe of that Warrior boss. Coudn't do a guy toon cause guys can't have Tiaras.
  13. Irish, I don't think you can insult the AE babies on Freedom. They're an embarrassment to us all. Though I have wondered why they don't use the AE in RWZ so they could have villains and heroes PLed at the same location, then I remember they don't know it exists.

    I think my fire/electric tank is going to be my Champion-main. I've got a good, affordable build that caps E/N only, but I realize I should sort out a 32% on S/L/E/N, which sounds smart at least until there is some more Incarnate content. Running BAF 900 times is about enough for me.
  14. In every AT, ice is about control modification to the main set. If that's what you want, then good. I really dig my ice/dark tank. I really don't dig my ice/ice blaster, though some love theirs.

    If they gave ice higher damage, it would desperately need to be nerfed down.
  15. This isn't boosting the damage of each attack, but I'd suggest running Herostats and see what is your most damaging attacks. Though I already know what they are for a fire blaster as my main is one.

    Blaze is it. Period. Unless you count your nuke, which is it, but I forget I have it and the small downtime gives me a bit of anxiety unless I'm finishing off the group. Fireball can sometimes, depending on the mission analyzed, barely squeak past Blaze.

    Flares is worthless. Who cares about how Defiance lets us fire it mezzed. Flares is worthless.

    If you want more damage from Blaze, slot a range IO in the sixth. The gray words "Out of Range" don't do any damage.

    And I'll disagree that Musculature will boost your damage best, recharge will boost your damage. It's easier to get and a 8% rech gives the same damage over time as a 8% damage. You'll get 8% more attacks per unit of time.

    Granted, all this depends on reaction time and the choice of the right attack under that situation. It's hard to remember that DoT is your friend.

    I'm a fire/ice, and when a tank gets a huge grouping, a rain with 7s flying off the enemies can do some epic damage numbers. Unfortunately, Herostats can't track pet damage.

    Edit: I re-read and it doesn't say you have a fire blaster. Though, if you want more damage, that's what you pick.
  16. On my fire blaster, I went Pyronic and Warworks.

    Pyronic - I don't see the need to diversify damage types since I'm fire. Everyone loves getting hurt by fire. Plus it's the coolest looking. I think I stopped at the third teir. Didn't see fourth as worth the effort as I've fun BAF nine million times at this point.

    Warworks - Did up to Core Total, didn't see anything I'd dig past that. I might build toward it if I did buffs, but I just picked them up yesterday and haven't even see what damage they'll do. I'm a hoverblaster, so hopefully they'll be able to deal with that. Also, looks coolest.

    The other Lambda stuff: I'm not going to grind for buffing others right now. I'll need to see some more incarnate stuff on that side to want to mess with it. Though getting Mez protection does sound nice, I carry insp for that. I'll even skip the mez protection if it's the "lightning seizure bubbles."
  17. Accidentally hit back on my mouse when reaching for the Submit button, so here's the short version.

    All my toons are in an abandoned marketing experiment SG, except one who runs my private enhancement storage SG. I just use Freedom TF Chat and the signups on the forum to do TF, Raid, etc.

    Definitely join Freedom TF Chat, a chat channel. I know it's not an SG, but I just don't know any like that.

  20. I won't even say I'm an alternate, as you know how I fear ruining a MO by running a blaster with AoE shooting out of every orifice, but I might drop by at that time though it looks like you guys have plenty.

  21. Last night around midnight Central, I saw a lil level 1 Irish Fury out in Atlas, a very different Atlas than I'm used to. There was no one there. Well, a guy afk in WW and two trial guys which, due to their communication limitations, I recommended to go Virtue or Freedom. After an emote-off, which I clearly won due to my Party Pack and knowing grief and propose, I called it a night.

    I found I had a lev 28 Tank from years ago when I didn't know anything. I say that because, holy crap the slotting, if you can call it that. I'm working on a fire/electric build for her, and have piggybacked a thread in the Tank forum if any of you know how to do that AT for PvE play. When searching, there's a lot of def vs rech controversy. [search "havoc plasma" for those threads]

    Dunno how to build this tank. Only tank I've had that worked was ice/dark, which is a totally, totally different animal.

    So, I'll check the calendar. Woob woob woob woob.

    Fire/Elec Build

    Bump again.

    I've just found an old Tank I made years ago sitting on Champion Server and this was before I knew anything.

    My only tank that I consider good is an ice/dark [highly suggest this] but he's all about defense and this set is all about resistance. However, you can't get resistance bonuses and you can't get your def up in this very well.

    Also of note, I'm a bit of a cheapskate and will go Haymakers and ToD rather than KC. But, I'm not even sure that I should go S/L. If I did only E/N that might work because I can't think of anything end game with cold and fire doesn't matter at all, there's no way I couldn't be totally immune to the stuff.

    I'm still working on a build, but I keep doing it like a /wp which clearly doesn't work well.

  23. Just wanted to chime in and say I'll also be Championing soon. I'm a Freedomite, and yes, I do believe at least 20% of our population is Freedumb. A bunch of degenerate, broadcast spamming, Leeroy Jenkins blappers. And that's why I don't PUG.

    So, I just happened to notice that your server's forum had more posts than ours. And sure enough, it seems you have more of what I actually dig, scheduled events for veteran players who know what they're doing.

    I gotta figure out a name, the hardest part of any toon, and then I'll show up, PUG the sewer and SC until I'm acceptable to get in on some of the scheduled stuff.

    Because of the shard drop mechanic, you don't want to solo for shards. You can get shard drops off any kill that any player makes. I've heard of a person getting two shards off one kill, but I'm not sure that's legit.

    Class Project

    [note: I skipped 80% of the posts before writing this.]

    There are only two main classes: Damage and Control.

    Damage is pretty straight forward, though there are different mitigation strategies within those ATs and powersets. Ranged damage uses range as mitigation and might have slows or other debuffs giving control. An ice blaster for example. Scrappers and Tankers use defense or damage resistance as mitigation.

    Control is not just holds. Player health can be controlled. All debuffs and aggro management, which is an attention debuff for others, are forms of control.

    The lines are not straight and the roles are not black and white. Each powerset, and combination, provides tremendous variation. Add to that the power pools and you could make an Aggro-control, stealthing healer able to debuff enemy endurance. Though, trying to bend one AT into the role of another isn't suggested.
