Mo-Run Summary: We didn't get it. I didn't die first. I think I died third or second.
I'm thinking of taking Hyperphase for Mo runs. My warburg one is grayed out, obviously, and I hit that thing often when trying to stay alive. Which I don't do so much in non-Mo stuff, cause RotP is a nuke and should be used.
And, hey, why weren't people spammin' the Judgment last night? I was throwing at least half of all that were thrown. -
Got no clue, my brother-in-law's family will spring get-together times on us at the last minute. Might be there at the regular time, might not.
I'll check this thread to see if it's at another time, etc. -
How does phantom army work against Hami? Reasonably smart, or dumb as rocks, attackign the wrong things?
-
Define late night.
The west coast players are timeshifted from us central ones. Seems most of the people on the board here actually go to sleep before I do.
Try chatting up the people waiting for BAF and Lam at Pocket-D. All my toons are in a nearly abandoned marketing project from two years ago. I used to say I'm half the members, but I think I'm more like 90% now. Tidbit is the only player I know that is in the game still, and he's the prez, but I think he only has his fire/rad in there.
I gotta have him around, I can't invite my own self to a group, and I'm an altaholic.
WB, btw. Get in on some of the TFs etc. -
I can't view the youtube at work, but I was totally unaware you could drop them. I've swacked at them a few times with a scrapper, but that was it.
I actually just wanted to stand on it. Nope. -
It's not lack of imagination. Just wanting some ATs to be unique.
If a person couldn't see the little icon, they wouldn't be able to tell scrappers from Tanks from Brutes 99% of the time. The other 1% someone has ice. Or if we see an Axe it's not a scrapper. A katana, it's not a Brute or Tank.
I don't want tanks to have Katana and I don't want scrappers to have ice. It's all cool with me whatever you guys want, but if we voted [ha] I'd vote to keep ice with Tanks, Kat with Scrap, but Geez, get fire blasting over to defenders.
Edited to add: And Brutes, they need a unique powerset. They have nothing unique. -
-
Keep ice away from scrappers, I say. It's a tank thing and should stay that way. Who scraps covered with ice?
Give us the MM's whip. -
Make all your LotG +7.5s at level 25 if you're going to be running a wide variety of TFs etc. My main toon, a blaster, has all five of hers at level 40+ and I ran an ouro TF Wednesday and was in slow motion.
Get that unique out of RttC and put it in Health or HPT. I know you'll always be running RttC, but really those should be in an auto.
I two slot QR and Stamina. The proc and endmod from PS. If I have spare, I'll throw in a common.
I'd rather have a rech common in ball lighning than that proc. Who cares about 3% toxic resistance? [maybe some, I don't know]
I hate GSFC and sure wouldn't waste the slots on a kat/wp. On mine I don't worry about shooting for regen anymore either. Though I did respec into endurance problems, on a /wp, how embarrasing. GSFC takes up too many slots and a kat/wp doesn't need all that.
If you're not slotting Mu Bolts, take Zapp instead. I has better accuracy and would be great for pulling. A snipe when running Statesman is key, and not all blasters take it [even though it's an easy 7.5 global rech via Manticore[.
And, me, on Dragonfly and Lotus, I do three erads [1,2,4] and three Cleaving [1,3,4] (I think) which gives good numbers for rech, dam, and...I think end...maybe acc. But your acc is through the roof, so the bonuses of Oblit aren't that amazing anymore. But, you lose that 3.75 on Melee, and you aren't one-smack-capped with DA, but after my respec where I became one-smack-capped, I don't see that it was necessary at all. Wish there was an undo button.
That third slot in BU only gives you 1.4 seconds. I'd throw the rectified reticule unique in there, unless you don't go against Arachnos, etc, often.
But, you're build is fine. I'm just saying the stuff I did.
|edit: these old slottings of mine could change common for something in a set and get better bonuses, but she used to be econo slotted.|
There are different ideas on DA and RttC slotting, since those are such key powers. My old DA slotting, which I liked better than the current, was:
Level 8: Divine Avalanche Mako-Acc/Dmg:50(A), Mako-Dmg/Rchg:50(21), LkGmblr-Def/Rchg:50(23), RedFtn-Def/Rchg:50(23), DefBuff-I:50(25), Dmg-I:50(25)
Giving near cap def and dam with 80% rech. The rech isn't so important, and I had global acc so I didn't have to worry about that.
My old RttC was
Level 16: Rise to the Challenge Heal-I:45(A), ToHitDeb(31), H'zdH-Heal/EndRdx:40(31), H'zdH-Heal:40(33), DarkWD-ToHitDeb:48(33), DarkWD-Slow%:29(33)
Which was overcap heal and near cap tohit debuff, then some endrance and a proc. I've read the proc is crap in there. But if you're hungry for hp, that'll give you 20 with the plain tohit debuff from that set.
Current RttC is Damp Spirits THD and THD/End. Then three common heals. I didn't build to regen bonuses and I honestly can't tell. I also couldn't tell that the taunt commons did anything when I slotted them a while back.
But your build is fine. But move that health unique out of RttC and slot QR some. Both of those are some of our coveted powers and need proper attention. -
I'll be in the 20s by next Thursday. Then my goal'll be to turn vigilante to open up the other side.
Most of the Task Force Commander requirements are sub 30. So there is that. Also helping anyone else turn vigilante, etc.
I didn't realize that defenders get a damage buff for small teams and an endurance reduction buff for injured players. But I tell ya, being Storm/DP, I'm not much of a healer. Handin' out aspirins. -

Quote:Nope, didn't die once w the blaster. Only once with the tank and it was my own fault for jumping out ahead. Since my wee tank wasn't able to pull much aggro, I just headed off. Oh, and when I don't keep up there are usually caves or confusingness involved.I'm curious now. Ran the E-Man stuff on Wednesday with you and pulled a few extra spawns on us from time to time, dying infrequently.
Pain or fun? I didn't hear any complaints, but I chocked that up to E knowing how we usually run (and him being happy I wasn't J-Man on a Tank hauling stuff from all over creation).
Now, I did play Saltier, the blaster, much different than usual since I was pretty slow most of the time. I did all my lotg rech at 40+ so no more permahasten for me. And I'd been meaning to try using inferno as much as possible, so I did.
(this took me 900 years to type on my iPod. I just hope the beginning of sentences matches with the end.) -
Quote:I'll see how much I can tear myself away from my main toon, though by the end of June, I have two week vacation starting next weekend, I should have her well into her twenties. If the level disparity is too much between the core toons, I can lead a second team that goes off doing tips/ouro/lowbie TFs.I knew you would give in eventually.
Yes, Thursdays at 7pm Central is when we normally run the DP team. Right now we are working our way through the red side strike forces so if you could level up and go vigilante, that would be awesome. My playing time is pretty limited here lately, but add me to global @Guardian Irish-Fury, and next time you see me online, shoot me a tell and I might be able to PL you a bit to help you catch up.

Yeah, I gotta agree with you Obsidian. I had gotten away from my proverb quoting earlier. "A good tree bears good fruit. A bad tree bears bad fruit."
When I'm running a team, a Leeroy Jenkins can be fun or a pain, depending on if a team can handle it. Someone who doesn't know how to play their AT? I don't care about dead weight. We're running x8 anyway. I only adjust the +whatever. Blappers are the greatest offenders, and those are routinely heralded in the forums here.
I try to be positive. "gj" and "woot" go a long way in helping a team. Getting the mish up, communicating. And I have never said "players are stupid" when/after leading a team. I might tell tales about one particular toon, usually a blapper who wants to show us how it's done. I've had a blapper leading a team tell me, an ill/storm, to not cast any of my pets. I comment that that'd put me back to level 2. I did what he said though, after a team wipe, the PA came out and he didn't complain about Spec Terror, et al.
Dr G did mention BAF. And if you've been on BAFail, they can get super frustrating. Not being able to control 15+ people, half of which are running back from the hospital, it is an endless teamwipe.
Also, the concept of balancing the health...so beyond some people. I've only seen them rez twice though. And I've only had the mish fail due to prisoner escapes once. -
Here is my incredibly hack and flawed slotting of your build. I ran out of slots as on a blaster I like to five slot health with numina unique and heal, Miracle and Regen Tissue uniques, and a common heal. Stamina would get the PS proc and endmod, then a common endmod for the third slot.
I preach Rise of the Phoenix regularly. No need to harp on it again today.
If you want the extra 7.5 on your Zapp, it can't be in slot 50 as it needs five slots. And unless you're going to use all your powers, you can mule more LotG +7.5%s in the concealment pool. You should take aim and two slot rech commons so it comes up the same time as build up. Fire them both [aim first] and then Tblast, ball, FSC, Burn, whatever makes sense at the time.
Ring of fire is a better ranged attack than most T1s out there. So it should be slotted for attack. All LotG 7.5s should be level 25. I had the problem that mine are in the 40s and 50 last night as I was running an Ouro TF at level 35. Slooow.
Sorry this is so hack:

Had fun despite the caves and multiple levels. Both of those make me feel dumb and I tend to lag behind.
Not sure we had any deaths in the first stuff. I was spamming the inferno as all my LotG are foolishly at lv 50 so I was much slower once hasten wore off. Herostats said of the 220k points of damage I did, 124k were from inferno. Also, herostats is really confirming that breath of fire sucks.
I pulled out my tank on the second TF. Master-Blade already had Teal Tabby who pulls much more aggro, so I was like the weakest, most air-swinging scrapper in the world. 30% S/L sucks on a tank. Insp drops hate me and conspire against me. But then again, I need acc, def, and end. Toro Frio is just a wreck at this point.
I had fun. -
I just rolled a storm/DP defender just so I can get in on your action.
To what level do I need to get, or is there enough interest in a lowbie team?
I'm not sure how quickly I can level her as I've got a lot of stuff, then a vacation, coming up. But I've envied the DP team for a while but couldn't get into any of the power combos until I realized I could make a Storm/DP, which while not a lot of synergy, hits me as fun.
These are every Thursday at 7p central? And I guess once I get to 20 I need to go vigilante to be able to get on the whole map. -
Man, you're crazy for this E.
I'll be on. And depending on how far behind my wife is in her work [medical transcriptionist who works at random hours] I'll do this more than once if you want.
Initial plan is to bring the pain with Saltier, fire/ice blaster. I'd think my fire/rad had some good to bring to the table, but I've never seen a squishier toon.
Might bring Trixi Chalk, kat/wp, just so me and Sevenpenny can have scrapperlock races.
If the team fills, as I don't really care for the badge, I just like to play, someone else should go before me. -
All this said, I'd probably team with Dr. G because it sounds like he knows what he's doing. In game drama is uncool, because I like to have fun, but it seems like he's had this bottled up for a while.
-
I've been thinking about making the most irritating anti-farm. Though I'm not sure why.
Lots of flying. Ranged psi attacks only. And that's all I got. Make 'em clowns or something. Can you make a custom enemy, or any for that matter, have Phantom Army? -
Sun, if the fire/kin can move on to the next group faster than a plant/kin, wouldn't that make the fire/ have more dps?
I don't like /kin either. I do run with a pack of Fire/Rads weekly [anyone welcome, Freedom, Talos dirt hill, Mon 8pC] and the AM stacked makes us insane. I have a really good respect for fire. Plant is right there behind, and has the benefit on teams of a better, easier to quickly evaluate animation for holds and immobs. This helps hte other team mates.
/Kin and /Storm couldn't be more different. They can't even be compared except both have a ranged heal. You need to roll both and at least get to 35 to see what each is like. I've never gotten a /Kin out of the 20s. I have a /Storm at 43 and a /Rad at 50.
Not the fastest, but really fun, I'd have to recommend putting ill/ with /Storm. -
Can't access a link to get the build while at work. The datachunk is key.
General advice, since everyone who posts here these days is very gung ho on defense, you may want to say whether that's your goal or recharge and damage.
Slot all your ranged with Decimation if you want recharge, Thunderstrike if you want ranged defense. All Targeted AoE get Positron, also getting you the 6.25% global recharge bonus. Don't go past 5 of any bonus description or the sixth+ won't work. Your snipe can take a Manticore for 7.5% global, as well as your holds get 7.5% global from Basilisks. CJ, hover, weave, can all take a LotG +7.5% global recharge. This does not count as rule of fives with the Zapp and holds 7.5 as it has a different description in-game.
For defense, little bits all over the place. Others are better at that. Personally, I take Rise of the Phoenix from the Fire epic so I can rez as a nuke every 2 minutes, though you'll rarely die once you can get it. -
I was thinking Chilling Embrace that I have on my Tank. AA is a reason to stay on the ground. IMO the ground is for scrappers and tanks, and my controllers which need to be there, though arguably ill/ doesn't need to.
The hover isn't for concept, it's what I do. I think it a great power, fast enough at higher levels, I slot the stealth in and I'm ranged exclusively. I think my practice at it has made it my way of doing things. I will go on foot in blue caves. I also run CJ while hovering or flying. It slightly changes the flying dynamic, or feels that way. Plus, as you mentioned that's where I get my immob protection.
That's a good build. I'm concerned about the end usage and lack of slots for health. But I could swap out some of the sets, for frankenslotting. Being permahasten isn't that big a deal as it usually takes me 8 or so seconds to stop attacking so it can fire.
Re: forced to be in range by AT. I'm also planning on rolling a storm/DP defender (I've never kept a defender into the 20s) and it'll basically be a buffing melee with guns. If it wasn't for the first 20 levels, I'd do one of the villain ATs.
