Quote:/powexec_serverslot #This is what I have in mind, as well. But what name in the bind do you use to refer to the "server tray?"
You could also do /powexecname Bright Nova Blast, etc.
I like the new tray now that I get a clean representation of my form powers (rather than filling the tray with duplicates) and it goes away when I revert to human. I can now have one tray for both forms, with powers I'd like to switch to human to reup when they refresh and powers I can use in my forms. It does mean I'm up to 21 bindfiles for my peacebringer (22 if you count the simple list of basic binds), and that's without creating new bindfiles for Hybrid... -
Quote:As far as I know there have been no changes to the trial. That said, the bug that makes it rough on leagues attempting to do the trial normally relates to a too-low target cap on the level shifts from destroying the Lights, which wouldn't be an issue for a RHW run.Did they adjust the trial yesterday? there was a patch in the morning.is that what it was?
I'm half-tempted to try that this weekend, but between the facts that my sister will kill me if I don't play the GW2 beta with her and that I'd like to lead a successful Magisterium trial before I try leading a RHW run, probably not.
Anyway, congratulations Spatch, Madame Pistacio, and the rest of the successful RHW league. Any tips you'd like to share with us? -

Quote:It doesn't announce the crackly air over the entire map. I've often seen no warning when I've been taking out a Light. And no, I didn't just miss it.Does anyone else find this sad that people need to be told in small font chat text, rather than read it as it happens in big, red text that flashes up right in the middle of the screen? What exactly are people looking at while they play?
I've notice similar behavior with Marauder's Nova Fist; I have trouble with too often running into melee only to get slammed by it. Most of the time this happens right after he jumps.
Quote:The way I read the text you quoted, you don't get level shifted just because there are no lights. You earn shifts as lights are defeated. I've only seen 3 or 4 active at one time, so unless the shift lasts long enough to stack them through several cycles of light, you shouldn't always see more than a +4 or +5. I don't remember seeing all 6 lights active in one cycle, but I could be wrong. They seem to spawn a couple at a time, rather than the whole lot at once, like the portals for Black Swan. -
Quote:Yeah, a later post addressed this:What happens if we kill the Olympian Guard? Does Tyrant still get the buff?
1. The power that kills the Olympian Guards has a range of 60 feet.
2. Every time he kills an Olympian Guard, the buff gets stronger and the timer resets.
3. Killing an Olympian Guard yourself denies him the buff.
4. The Olympian Guards stop spawning when he reaches 40% health.
---
Also, having run a couple smaller-league Magisterium trials with no pets during the final fight, the difference is huge and noticeable. Tyrant's actually pretty easy. -

Quote:Up until I read Hawk's post, I wasn't sure one way or the other whether Tyrant gained anything from dead/hospitaled characters. The "Your soul will be consumed if defeated" bit in the event monitor (which I guess refers to being sent to limbo until you can defeat the EB portal to come back) sure suggests he gains power from killing characters.Heh, don't I feel stupid. The same article that Cobalt linked to was the one I was looking at - but I thought it was different because Cobalt's link said Arbiter Hawk (who, for all I know may be the Associate Designer who made the comment in the article.)
Thanks for the correction, Placta
In other words, don't feel stupid; it was a valid theory(And yes, Jeff Hamilton is Arbiter Hawk.)
-
Arbiter Hawk's official word on the subject.
Summary:
1. The level shifts have a target cap of 16. This will be fixed in an upcoming patch.
2. Tyrant can drain power from Olympian Guards, gaining extra to-hit and smashing damage.
3. Dying and hosping has no effect on Tyrant. -
Quote:Agreed with this; I would hate to see a badge run derailed by a league not getting enough shifts from the Lights to take down Tyrant.Quite right, I'm itching to get the new Mag badges, although my enthusiasm is somewhat dampened by the buggy final fight with Tyrant.
I'm planning to start weekly Magisterium badge runs once the level shift bug gets fixed. (Starting with Ready to Rumble/Triple Threat/The Hard Way most people will have Shadow Master and we'd probably pick it up without special effort anyway and working on The Really Hard Way afterwards.) I'll probably run them Sunday afternoons, since that time seemed to work for a lot of people when I was doing Keyes. -
Tried it three times. Mapserved all three, despite staying away from the AoE attacks.
The second time I was down to a handful of regular enemies and the AV lineup when it hit. So close...
And the mapserver issues got into my computer's head; when I tried joining a Magisterium trial after restarting after the third crash, it took three tries before I was able to zone in and do the trial. By which time I'd missed a good chunk of the Hybrid XP. Grr. -
1. The Magisterium trial only awards one Astral Merit, for defeating Tyrant, plus Astral Merits for any badges you get. (I assume, I've only managed Shadow Master so far.) There's no Astrals for defeating the AV Trio, nor Black Swan. (It awards Empyrean Merits for completion as expected.)
2. Tyrant's /info is that of an Olympian Guard.
3. Sometimes (perhaps always) when I zone with a hybrid power toggled on, the power remains on indefinitely (i.e., does not toggle off after two minutes) but does not grant any bonus either. Edit to clarify: It grants the passive bonus for having the power equipped, but not the bonus for having the power toggled on.
4. During the final mission of the Penelope Yin TF, there's an objective that said four glowies had to be used simultaneously. Either the timer is very forgiving (there was no indication that the one I used would reset if the other three weren't used quickly) or the simultaneous part isn't true. -
Why "do not point me to official announcement?" That's really the only answer we have, aside from "When they're ready."

Quote:Just found out I'm going to have to work Saturday night, so I'm not going to be able to help out after all. Good luck to you all.So I was kind of expecting i23 to go live June 5th or sometime thereafter, but looks like it is going live tomorrow.
This may decrease the interest in a MoTPN. However, I'll still show up to run this at the time listed. As long as we can get the minimum needed to start (12 players) I will proceed with the trial. -
What shall we do with the o'erthrown Tyrant
What shall we do with the o'erthrown Tryant
What shall we do with an o'erthrown Tryant
Early in the morning?...
Yeah, I got nothing. The thread title just made me think of the song. -
I've arranged to switch shifts so I can be home tomorrow evening to play. I may try to start running them, but I imagine getting other new badges will hold me over until someone else starts.

Quote:I should know better.(I'd almost guess Thursday, but I think they know better than that.)
-
It's on test (not just beta) now, so unless a stability issue/gamebreaking bug pops up between now and then, it'll probably go live next Tuesday. (I'd almost guess Thursday, but I think they know better than that.)
...huh, I didn't notice that the protestors' rocks in TPN are getting nerfed until just now. Neat. -
Quote:This is correct. However, you can craft a Hybrid ability before you unlock the slot, so that when you unlock the slot all you need is to put the ability in the slot and voom you're all set.Doesn't it take Advanced iXP to open the Hybrid slot? Or has that changed since I last looked at Beta?
Isn't the only place to gain Advanced iXP in the Magisterium Trial? Or has that changed since I last looked at Beta?
So yeah, I've got eight characters that as soon as I unlock Hybrid on, I'm done with again, out of ten 50s. One of the other two is my badger who I may still be chasing some of the Magisterium badges with. (And until I get Master of Magisterium, she's the only one I'm going to be running it with. Chance for badges >> power that isn't terribly exciting.) The other is my newest 50 who just got tier 3 Destiny/the second Incarnate level shift last night, so she'd be my project character anyway. -
Envoy of Shadows. Why would I ever touch that one again, except on my character who's doing every single (blueside) mission available on her way up? (And yeah, she is level 37, so... soon...)

I'll be around to help out. I have the badges on my main.

Quote:Ran the Maria Jenkins arc yesterday. Sister Psyche's quote after defeating Malaise made me laugh sadly:Ran the SSA followed by the Maria Jenkins arc. Cue several hours of "wait, you're dead! So are you!"
"Every time I come across this version of Malaise I am reassured that my tutilage [sic] has kept our version from turning out this way." -
I should not have tried to lead another trial after Keyes finished. I knew I had to leave at 8, but didn't stop to look at the clock and thought I had more time than I did. I'm very sorry for abandoning you all mid-trial and hope everything went well after I left.
I really hated doing that and will make sure to never let it happen again. -
I'd seen that before; it's how I got Green Stuff on my emp, before I got it on my blaster.
Still, never look a gift glitch in the code, right?
Grats to those who got badges, and thanks to Amy for leading and organizing.
