    It gets more damage.

It was done to prevent certain pets (earth and ice? I think) from getting stuck in their AI script where they would only do certain attacks over and over again (typically the ones you'd rather them not do over and over.). So instead of firing off their range attack and then moving into range and using their hard hitting melee attacks, they'd just sit there plinking away at ranged.

The decrease in damage for a fire/kin troller from this is minimal.
  3. Crazy thoughts of the day -

Make all Stone armors stack (minus Granite with Minerals)
Buff the s/l def, e/n def and f/c res armors
Gut Granite when another armor provides that bonus (s/l/e/n def, f/c res)
Remove the movement penalties from Rooted, put them on Granite (in addition to the existing penalties).

So we end up with something decent and mobile, but still have the option of going survival overkill (while maintaining the psy hole in Granite).
  4. No advice per se, you'll need to wait for the build warriors to swing by, but I did knock it up in Mids for you.

  5. Well, the easy way is to pick up the spiritual alpha. At the very rare level, hasten has 3 seconds downtime in your build.

To the OP - elec/shield (brute or scrapper, heck, even tank) is perfectly fine as a farmer. You will want to soft cap defense to all 3 positions (45% to melee, range, and AoE), as well as pick up as much recharge as possible. In doing so, you should pick up enough additional accuracy to hit +4 mobs reliably.

To farm efficiently, you can't be standing around waiting on BU/LR/SC to come off cooldown, you need to keep moving and defeating spawns. So your other attacks will come in to play.
  8. I had quite a few toons sitting at 22 (fire/kin on another account, yes I cheat) for this weekend. Would have liked to take a few farther than I did, but oh well.

    traps/pistols to 26
    db/inv scrapper to 26
    kat/ela scrapper to 29
    km/wp brute to 34
    elm/sd to 37

I was pleasantly surprised by the db/inv. I've never really gotten into db before, but this was rather fun. I was even more surprised by the kat/ela. It turns out stackable melee defense, solid resists, and a heal/regen/end red power work really really well (who knew?!). Okay, okay, so I pretty much knew it was going to work well, I did not expect it to be as fun as it was.

kinetic melee - Outside of the fact that I don't like the t9 animation, this set confuses me. I just can't tell if I like it or not. At all. >.<

electric melee/shield defense. All I can say is - "Ahahahahahahaha" =D

Cuz in my build I got no purples and the only accolades I got is portal jockey, atlas medallion, and freedom phalanx. I'm only at 1770. Would switching sets that have "max hit point" bonuses to purple sets make up for the ~200 difference between my build as yours?
Or is it more off the sets that Claws can take versus dark melee?
Finish out Task Force Commander, there's another 5% health.
  10. scrapper energy torrent is knockdown, not knockback.
  11. My FF defender with scorpion shield, dispersion bubble, hover, and maneuvers is sitting at 47 s/l and 39 en. With no set bonuses. Makes for a really happy FF defender!
  12. I'm still waiting for someone to request that pain domination be proliferated over to the hero side.
  13. Fun stuff. Nice to meet you all, and the folks from the other games (mostly Guild Wars and Tabula Rasa; I think I ran into one other current Lineage 2 player).

Good beer (really good beer, actually), good food, and gamers. Kind of an odd combo, but eh, whatever works.

Fun semi-factoid - My first graphical MMO convention, an Everquest fanfair held here in Seattle (well Sea-Tac), there was about a 1 to 99 ratio of females to males. This get together, much much closer to 50/50 than I would have imagined.

ps - any grammar or spelling errors I entirely blame on beer.

    fixed.

Taking your suggestions into account, I've added Defense to the Power Pools to EVERY single damage type EXCEPT Psi. In other words, the Pools are no longer limited to Smashing and Lethal.

Frankly, my original idea didn't account for the fact that some pools would have been situationally more useful to certain Tanker and Scrapper builds...This change addresses the inequality.

    Thank you for this change.
