  1. I don't know about anyone else, but it always has bugged me that I had to sift through the countless badge listings to find that one or two badges I'm missing from whatever accolade. Just today I saw I had 8 of 9 badges for the AE acolade and I was like "awesome...wait, now which one am I missing?"

I know the names are listed with the accolade, but I'd like to see a system incorporated that would highlight or change the color of the badges that you already have so it's easy to distinguish which ones you still need.
  2. Power isn't an issue, I have a 700W power supply.

My concern was whether the 5770 was going to be enough of a graphic boost to warrent going ahead and purchasing a new video card as that would delay the new computer.

I've also no experience with Radeons, I'm assuming from the above posts that they run COx ok? I had heard at one point there were driver issues with Radeons and COx.

    Purple Drop Rate

I can feel your pain. I've run my scrapper at -1/8 for a couple months and have yet to see a purple drop but have deleted I don't know how many temp powers.

Just gotta keep at it and hope for the best.
  4. I saw today on Tigerdirect that XFX is now offering a single-slot version of the Radeon 5770, 1Gb video card. I'm running a 9800GT 1Gb video card at present so I can only run UM on low/med. settings. I have a BTX case so I can only put in a single slot video in so this new card pretty much meets that need.

I am saving up for a whole new rig, but that won't happen probably until next year or later.

So my question is this: Is a Radeon 5770 significantly better than the 9800GT in running UM or should I just wait until I can get my new rig and get a 460 or something?
  5. Need to remember too that with the market merge, all previous prices were wiped so the "first posters" got to set the prices. I'd say, along with most others, that eventually things will even out and the prices will return to relatively normal.
  6. Thanks for the replies. I did forget that I on occasion will run Mumble so the idea of splitting cores there makes sense.

The basic idea is to save money where I can as that will mean the sooner I can get my hands on a new computer.
  7. Ok, so I've tried searching the web, but this debate seems to lean both ways so I decided to ask the community in which it would matter to me. With UM and GR released my computer needs some love, unfortunately for me that means a new computer. I pretty much solely run City of Heroes with an occasion demo here and there.

I've seen that both Intel and AMD have now released 6 core processors as well as the plethora of dual and quads already out there. I've not seen anywhere how many cores COx has been optimized for so my question is this: for running COx, is it better to have as many cores as possible or a higher core frequency?

    DB/WP Scrapper

I'm not dead set on SJ. Like I said this build is from shortly after IO's were first introduced and he's never been respec'd so it's totally his original build and powers like Nija Run just weren't available. As far as concept powers there really aren't any. I've been very successful with this build, but have been wondering if I could improve it with the new sets, powers, tactics that are employed now.

My current attack chain is: Weaken, Empower, Sweep, AV....rinse and repeat. I rarely have issues with recharge using this chain as the powers shift between them and typically are fully recharged by the time I need them again. That said I do find myself more and more leading into mobs with Sweep and then AV so a possible change in removing Weaken and Empower could be possible.

    DB/WP Scrapper

I've been running this scrapper for a while as he is my main. Slotted out when IO's and sets first came around, I was wondering what others may have to say about the build or where possible improvements could be made. He can currently tank just about anything, though I have never successfully taken him against an AV solo before.

  10. I may have misunderstood somewhere along the lines, but I thought that the inclusion of the first of ten incarnate levels was a bonus that was being offered as a preview on the release of GR. The actual incarnate system was not being released until I19 and thus was a future feature to be offered to those who purchased GR.

The actual features with GR are the Praetoria Zones, side switching, market merger, new 1-20 content, costumes, etc. The thought that you would consider revoking your pre-purchase/pre-order because of bonus material isn't included can be compared to asking for your money back at a movie theatre because there were no trailers before your movie. I do not mean to be flaming anyone here, but seriously folks....you're kidding me right?

If you purchased the game based solely on a bonus preview rather than the actual content associated with the release, then you have my condolences. But you cannot blame the devs for your choices.

I would much rather have to wait until the actual release of the Incarnate system and see it done right, then to get a preview of it and have it all screwed up.

    Was Wondering.

And don't forget that it takes a great deal more than just that initial 300K from inviting members to get all the beacons and teleporters running. Actual cost would be depend on whether you are Redside or Blue since Villains have fewer zones.

There is a good thread here on base building for the small SG with pricing. I believe that they have a fully fucntioning SG base (20 of 21 beacons, med-bay, Cntrl, Enrg) for roughly 2.2 Million in Prestige.
  12. Sort of an item, but can we get zoned lighting for rooms? Such that we can have like one side of a room lit with one color and the other a different color? If not, how about colored lights? Say the wall mounted light in red and green rather than just white.
  13. I thought they had announced that there would be 2 or 4 (I can't remember exactly) character slots unlocked with GR, like COV.

I know there has been plently of discussion throughout the boards here on teh Epic powers as well, but as I understand it there is no new epic class. If you start a Corr and choose to be a Hero you will have access to the Hero Ancillary powers, if you stay a villain you gain Patrons.
  14. Anyone heard much on how intense the graphics for Ultra mode are going to be? I mean, are we talking doable with a 9800 GT or absolutely have to have the top of the line to even consider it?
