Actually, you told the OP in an earlier post to change their outfit because it is too close to the Amalgam character, yet you have a character that has a look almost exactly of a different copyrighted character... actually much closer to the source material than the OP's costume. Yes, it is a nice look, but it's still being a bit hypocritical when you called out the OP on his costume.

I never commented on the background of your character nor his ethnicity; the only other comment about your character other than the look was the name of the armor on your linked VV page, in which you replaced the word "wing" with "strike". Yes, I read your VV page and liked it very much. I'd just rather not see your character get genericed costume-wise, which it could very easily if someone was being a jerk (and don't worry, I wouldn't do that to you).

And as I said BEFORE, connecting to canon is a thin line to tread but can be done well depending on the player. As long as they make the tie-in character unique enough to make them stand out despite the basis, then there should be no problem.

I do agree that some people use it as a cop-out, but I do know players who have canon tie-in characters who are unique and different enough from the source to stand on their own. However, I have also seen the godmodders who say "You can't touch me! I'm (insert canon character name or canon character's tie-in)" as well. When it comes to canon-tied characters, I take them on a case by case basis.

*looks at Spartan's sig picture of Spectre Raven* But yet you piggybacked the look of an already established, copyrighted character from another universe. If you're using yourself as an example and standard, then that character forms a bad example and a very low standard.

And I know someone who has a character who is a failed clone of Statesman where the process was stopped at around 16 years of physical age for the clone, and the player has made that character quite unique despite using canon as a basis.

Using canon as a basis is not necessarily bad, but does tread on an extremely thin line, yet can be done well depending on the player behind it.

All they'd have to do is replace "Praetoria" with "Random Portal Corps Discovered Dimension". I guess that qualifies as "a damn thing".

And Spectre Raven and his Nightwing... oops, I mean Nightstrike... armor doesn't? Seriously, if I had seen that outfit ingame, I would have probably sent you a tell saying "Nice Nightwing outfit"... which I have a feeling that you've gotten many times.

Don't get me wrong, Spartan... I respect you, but when you come down on someone for being less than creative or borrowing from canon when you yourself flaunt a nearly blatant copy of a copyrighted character's costume in your forum signature comes across as being hypocritical. Sorry... I call them as I see them.

Now, as for the OP, I see deviations in costume from the copyrighted character (no jacket, boots different color than legs, mask covering the mouth, no yellow in the logo), but if anything he'd get a name change token because of the name. The name would hurt the OP's case more than the outfit.

GR Closed Beta does NOT rely on Hero-Con attendance. The three factors as to when you go into GR closed beta are as such:

Tier 1: Veteran players with 60+ months
Tier 2: Those who participated in the Loyalty Program through November 15
Tier 3: Those who pre-order GR

I predict GR closed beta will hit shortly after Hero-Con 2009 (that will probably be the "big announcement" at Hero-Con) and a full release somewhere in February/March 2010.

I think that some metahumans would become celebrities in their own right. Some may have TV shows about them or starring them... in fact, I have one hero who retired and became a cosmetics model for a cosmetics line aimed at the metahuman community.

There would still be sports around, but you would probably see ads with a combination of metas and non-meta celebrities, like the "Got Milk?" ads for example.

Love that movie... always such fun to watch. It's a shame that Darius Carey (who played Sho'nuff as well as Lord Bowler in The Adventures of Brisco County Jr) passed away last year.

Ahhh... wish that they would have kept that, as it could help alleviate some of the inflated prices on some items with an imposed time limit, thus making people list items at a reasonable price or risk losing said item if nobody is buying at the high price set by the seller.

If an item has not sold after 60 days, it is nuked from the system. Unless you pulled them on day 59 and relisted them, they would have been gone. If you did pull/relist them, then you couldn't have "forgot" about them.

If the said items did stay longer than 60 days, then this is obviously a bug in the market system and should be /bug reported.

As someone who lived in Westmoreland and Indiana Counties for many years, I know how to pronounce those city names. Speaking of strange pronounciations, people from Pittsburgh will look at you funny if you tell them that you are looking for East Liberty... to them, there is only 'Sliberty
