Jay has spilled some of the beans about the "magic" pack:
[ QUOTE ]
Just so you know, because knowledge is power. Robes, skirts, and other shoot that goes beyond the knee looks like trash. I have tried to make a long skirt but it just doesnt work out to my high standards of fine quality. If I think it looks bad that means you; the players, will loathe it even more.
What I have going on for the magic set; that is done and complete, is a compromise. I wouldnt call it a robe per say, its more like a cloak of sorts. I dont know when marketing is going to release pics and [censored], but I think that you guys will like what I did.
Magic is a pretty broad theme and trying to wrap it up in a single costume set was a bit of a task. I ended up breaking what I had in mind in to male and female sets. I try to please the masses but I know somebody out there is going to say oh man, why didnt he include this, or that? and to that I say tough nutz.

They all sniveling cowards then?
PRAF from the future says: Odds of pointy hats with hair: Very high -
Aye, I think it would be a good move to kill of Statesman in the first wave of "The Coming Storm".
Best characters: War Witch and Dr Aeion.
Worst: Siroccocco (for being a boring emo whiner with an unspellable name) -
Yup. Valkyries everywhere in the US.
-
My PB does okay with just a stealth IO in Sprint (well, okay, it's actually in Pretige Power Quick, if you want to be precise).
-
There are spots in Eden where they spawn regularly, thats where I usually hunt them. Or you could farm one of the door missions.
-
You heard it here first, GR confims CoX2!!!
-
Even if a sequal is anounced in April 2009, it couldn't actually go live before 2010 at the earliest, so there is plenty of reason to continue to expand CoX for now.
-
The "Destined One" badge is for having the City Of Heroes Delux edition.
The helmet is for preorders of CoV, and has it's own code.
Only the arachnos chest symbol and cape come with CoV collectiors edition. -
I think at least some taunt auras where changed in issue 13, so that they accepted taunt sets again.
The bug was with the stun proc, it would attempt to stun the owner of the power. -
Dungeon Keeper had some fun things to do with captives...
-
You might think you could do what you like in the Rogue Isles, but in fact it's a police state - with some pretty serious police. You would probably have more freedom in Paragon City.
-
Using the dual build system it is now possible for your character to have no powers at all....
-
Yah need to get some more alts. I have at least half a dozen characters who I play, and many more that I occasioanlly play, so earning day job time is easy.
But the toggle shield you get with Gladiator is quite useful, since you can save it up until you get a decient time on it. I expect the click powers could be useful, but I haven't tried them yet. Probably the rez and the placate would be the most useful of those. -
Most of the accolades are clicks (and a toggle). Time Lord is the exception.
You can earn points towards Cimmaroran at the same time though, which gives +8% resist to all (at second level), making it pretty good if you are going to leave a character for a while. -

the entire city would have to be rebuilt/redesigned into a single zone, expanding the interesting bits, reducing/culling the dull bits.
[/ QUOTE ]
99% of RL cities is dull though. I pass the endless housing estates on the train every morning. -
More people fall over kirbs because hurdles are easier to see.
I think CoH2 could do really excellent PvP though, and with CO apparently dropping the ball in that department, I think it would be worth making the effort to do it right, which wouldn't be hard to do if you built the PvP system first then used that as your basis for pvE. -
It's Passive.
It seems to be something like 1 minute for 2 hours logged out.
I wouldn't consider +20% recharge, +20% slow resit, and 75% TP protection "lowish" for a power you get by doing nothing though. -

I'd love to see the war walls taken down.
[/ QUOTE ]
The zones aren't ajacent to each other. There are several miles of unmapped uninteresting city between where the action takes place. -

COH 2 will probably take the form of a paid-expansion to the existing game, much in the same way as WoW and LOTRO.
[/ QUOTE ]
Which is the same thing as an expansion pack.
The argument against that is that it wouldn't enable PvP to be fixed, as that requires a complete rewrite of all the powers and ATs (and we all know how popular that is in a live game, don't we - NGO, ED etc).
Also, porting everything into a shiny new (and properly designed) engine, like the one Aion uses would alow the graphics to remain competative for many years to come.
the game would also benefit from having fewer, higher quality zones, and I don't see how you can remove zones in a "add on". -

Indeed the structure is the hero launch pad for what is believed to be a moon/space zone (with the villains one just south of the arena in PO iirc).
[/ QUOTE ]The construction site near the Arena in Port Oakes is for a pathway between the two ferry ports, it includes a stairway down from the platform above. It's not anything special.
[/ QUOTE ]
Its' not. The map which shipped with CoV showed it leading to a "launch pad".
There was also a leak in a training room patch, which showed the construction further advanced, I have seen the screen shot, although I haven't got a link. It clearly shows the road leading out to the small island, where the foundation of a launch pad is visible. -

Hardware permitting; Freedom's apparently loaded to the max in the US, and even the UK servers can struggle when activity spikes because of a new Issue, DXP weekend, etc...
[/ QUOTE ]
They looking at a virtual server environment.
I believe the idea is to split a single server over several machines, and if you need to increase capacity you just add an additional machine to the loop.
Zones that become full just add an aditional instance of that zone, as happens already, but the change would be the additional instance could be on an additional machine. -
I have no special knowledge about the zones that where planned for teh expansion, afaik they went on indefinate hold. However, the game plot seems to have changed direction when the leadership changed. "The Coming Storm" wasn't hinted at until issue 9 or 10.
