I will be the one tanking properly asap
[/ QUOTE ]
Which for just about any tank, is level 22.
[ QUOTE ]
Toggles suppress and you got nothing, shields down and aggro passed on.
[/ QUOTE ]
And it takes an awful lot of slow to do that (at least -80%).
And if it looks likely, you can activate OWTS.
And if that fails it is easily countered by a break free. Which is more than can be said about Invn's Psi hole.
just accept that whist you might have a problem with clicky mez protection, other people do not. -
[ QUOTE ]
I knew that fact Praf, I stated it days ago. You can get slowed. Its not perma enough.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't know about you but I don't spend much time fighting mobs which can both slow and mez at level 12.
and at high level, you can get recharge high enough to resist 40% recharge slow even without set bonuses and the slow resist power.
I think you are making a huge fuss over a very minor weakness.
[ QUOTE ]
SR I will highlight the fact that they're on other ATs that aren't necessarily effected by every nme npc you can aggro cap
[/ QUOTE ]
SR brutes. Don't here them moaning. -
[ QUOTE ]
i just think the company running it have gone from being mediocre to dire.

I agree again NCSoft have never really seemed to get their act together.
the saw that there was room for massive expansion in the western MMO market, and when they first entered the western market they did so in a big way, setting up a large and unweildy collection of companies spread across the globe.
They spent loads on development, even pouring money into projects that looked like failing, but completly failed to advertise them. As a result, they completly failed to capitalise on the exsepansion, and where left looking dazzed and confused with an organisation stucture designed to handle a much larger market share.
They produce a number of number of products with very similar target audiances, causing them to compete with themselves as much as with other companies.
I think a lot of this is because the company top brass is to korean. they think gamers play in social spaces, so word of mouth is effective marketing. Whereas they actually play mostly at home. They think people like to form specialised cliques, not play what everyone else is playing.
It's a shame, because they have some good people working for them lower down the buisiness. -

Indeed, CoH launched in the US before WoW. If they had marketed as agressively at the time, they could have had at least a portion of the expansion in the MMO market that occured then.
And in that economic climate it would have been much easier to borrow the money from the banks in order to do so.
[/ QUOTE ]
Cant believe iv agreed with you twice in a day Praff
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm suprised to find us in agreement as well.
It'l never last! -

Completely signed your post, Mr. Questionmark... I don't know the situation in the UK or the rest of Europe, but at least here in Spain CoV boxes are quite hard to be found (the ones on sale are the SAME ones that the one I bought years ago with Issue 6 or so), and forget it about the CoH ones. ANY kind of box would be appreciated.
If you really want to get much more customers, you should run the same policy as WoW, as I posted about this several times... the HUGE amount of the WoW different editions filling the shelves, T.V. advertisements, while it's almost impossible to find anything related to CoH/CoV.
[/ QUOTE ]
Given that WoW rakes in several thousand times as much as CoH, they could spend 1% of thier income on marketing and still spend more than the entire income of NCwest. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
There are still lots of supplies of GvE floating about.
[/ QUOTE ]
And would you honestly stock a 2 year out of date game in your shop if you had one?
[/ QUOTE ]
As far as the retailers are concerened any edition of CoH is a 5 year out of date game.
Which is why it would be very difficult indeed to get them to stock the same game in a new box. -
There are still lots of supplies of GvE floating about. Check out the old stock bins occasionally. If retailers can't shift those, they aren't going to want to buy in more stock of the same game.
I expect the US verison has been done with a deal with a retailer to stock, as they did with Wallmart for GvE. -
[ QUOTE ]
Sorry for this but, ANY box on the shelves would be nice.
[/ QUOTE ]
But as GR says, NCSoft cannot force retailers to put a box on thier shelves.
I believe they had a lot of problems getting retailers to stock the GvE edition, I remember a lot of people complaining that they wanted to buy it but it wasn't in thier local shop. -
At that time, there was no answer available.
On this occasion the OP could simply have looked at the thread entitled "official statement", which is only a couple of posts futher down the page they posted on.
Demanding to be told something when no information is forthcoming is one thing. Demanding to be told something when the answer is sitting directly in front of you is something else. -
Yeah, since debt got nerfed, a self res is like Hibernate without the time limit.
-
It's possible for a tanker to make Active Defense perma by level 12.
You just have to 4 slot with level 15 common IOs. -
[ QUOTE ]
I think the MA buildings will be in all the normal City zones:
1 - Atlas Park
2 - Galaxy City
3 - Kings Row
4 - Skyway City
5 - Steel Canyon
6 - Talos Island
7 - Founders Falls
8 - Brickstown
9 - Perigrine Island
with possibly Faultline and Pocket D too, so that'd make 11 out of 19, meaning there'd be 8 in the Villain zones - would that be too many or too few over there?
[/ QUOTE ]
Apparently co-op missions are possible, so at least one MA much be in a co-op zone. Pocket D would seem the obvious choice.
Add that and the main villain zones to your list and it still only comes to 17 though.
Maybe Croatoa, Strigia and Faultline need to to be considered as candidates too? I doubt there is one in the Storm Palace. -
[ QUOTE ]
These local stories can be tested by you or your party, but they are not considered published yet.
[/ QUOTE ]
= Infinite private stored missions for role players. -
[ QUOTE ]
Is it me, or does the Architect building look out of place there? Doesn't fit the style of Atlas at ALL!
[/ QUOTE ]
I expect Dr Aeon bribed the Paragon City building commity. -
[ QUOTE ]
You realize u need it after u got mezzed..
[/ QUOTE ]
It's called anticipation. If you are about to charge into a bunch of carnie illusionists you activate it first.
[ QUOTE ]
It's on a fixed recharge. You need it but can't have it.(
[/ QUOTE ]
Again, this is where you use tactics, and only activate it when you need it.
[ QUOTE ]
The crash is pretty dire for what you get.
[/ QUOTE ]
The end crash is insignificant, loosing the +max hp hurts more. -
[ QUOTE ]
I never understood this argument. A clicky with a long recharge isnt up always when u need it
[/ QUOTE ]
It doesn't have a long recharge, it's quite short. Once you get SOs, not only is it available when you need it, you can stack it for extra protection.
[ QUOTE ]
Its not really the point if Shield is _better_ then others, just that it is just as good as the other sets.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly. Active Defense is equal to Wet Ice. But some players will prefer a clcik and some a toggle. -
[ QUOTE ]
Until you are slowed.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's easy enough to get enough overlap that you don't have to worry about being slowed.
[ QUOTE ]
The early levels are pretty rough. You can get put out of action quite easily and in our game of non detoggling toggles there is not much point.
[/ QUOTE ]
Most sets struggle to actually tank at low levels, I don't see it as a problem, and brief mezzes don't do much harm anymore.
[ QUOTE ]
Should you die in a PvP zone tanking those AVs you might have to wait for the rechg before starting again.
[/ QUOTE ]
PvP zone? whats that??
[ QUOTE ]
Pointless. Wet Ice is a good Mez protection and cheap too.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wet Ice is good, but it doesn't come with Shields. And I have still been mezzed though Wet Ice by multiple carnie Illusionists. With the Mez protection in OWTS as well, Shields can achieve a much higher level of protection. Wet Ice also does not give Fear protection. -
I'm sorry, but you know nothing about banking. Myopic has given you an accurate discription of how the system currently works. It's still a holdover from the days before computers.
As for paying money into your Son's acount, yes it appears imediately, but until the payment is confirmed though the clearing process, it could disapear just as imediately. Cash is treated exactly the same way as cheques in this respect.
And my credit card company also happens to be my bank, which happens to be Natwest. -
Yeah, Active Defense is great. With Hasten and a few sets I have it double stacked much of the time for uber-mez protection.
-
You might think it would work like that, but it doesn't. It all has to go through the clearing process.
I have here a credit card bill, and I quote, from the section entitled "pay in cash at any bank or building society": "Please allow up to 5 working days for payment to be credited to your account".
Instant it certainly aint. -
[ QUOTE ]
I live in the UK, plaync provided me with a Natwest account to pay the monies into, I paid cash directly at my local Natwest branch, so your saying it takes over 6 days to receive a cash payment made directly into an account to show up on their system?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, my dad used to work for Natwest. They are sloooow in clearing that kind of transaction. -
And no sets give global (not even Steadfast protection def/res).
Gobal defense is mostly used for applying debuffs. -
[ QUOTE ]
I have the issue they cannot be attacked until their portal sequence is complete, usually some 2-3 secs between i can target em until i can actually attack em.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats what I am talking about. During those few seconds players can't target them, but pets can, and players using assist on a pet can too. -
[ QUOTE ]
and it would be QoL/updgrade that people would like.
Except maybe you
[/ QUOTE ]
Of course I am in favor of removing redraw for all powers. And if not all of them, then the ones that have a real impact, such as the aforementioned Fiery Aura heal, should be the ones that get done first. I am simply arguing that removing redraw for Boxing would do little to rehabilitate the power, given that there are lots of players without weapon sets who still don't have a use for it.
Yes, I have tried Jump Kick, and I know what it looks like, there is no reason why you couldn't create a modified animation for it holding a weapon or duel weapons.
One thing that occured to me is that Castle has been over many offensive sets and made ajustments, taking animation times into acount. So far as I know the pool attack haven't been looked at since issue 1, and at that time animation time was not taken into acount when calculating the damage scalar.
