somebody explain what this means

This, I imagine:

Stalkers will be considerably better fighting things above Lt. level

You can out level them, but they are available via Flashback (if you are a keldian).

Procrastination is the mother of invention.

Agree, but nevertheless it should be occassionaly, very occassionally. I.e. You shouldnt build or plan for it. And being "last man standing" is cold comfort to the rest of the team.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, does that mean I shouldn't plan for the Spanish Inquisition either? That's my build out the window!
-
Oh [expletive] off! Frosty Robot was and Ice/NRG tanker before PvP was invented. It's not fair everyone is jumping on the bandwagon and every character you see now is a Frosty Robot clone.
(oh yeah, wah wah wah) -
If you don't intend to PvP you don't need Stealth, so if you intend to have superspeed or TP as your travel power you can get recal friend quite early. You can also postpone Stamina if you make good use of set IOs.
-
Yeah, check out the guide, 'tis helpful and well written.
We have been discussing the problems stalkers have contributing effectively in large teams, where large spawns mean aoe damage is king. In order to pull your wieght, you, as a player, are going to have to work twice as smart as the other players.
My thoughts:
1) Make sure you pick up Recall Friend so you can help your team ghost to the boss.
2) Stay with the team unless asked to scout ahead or ghost.
3) Aim to take out the most dangerous foe in a spawn. Malta sappers are a prime example, but any mezzer is also a good target depending on team composition.
4) Stay with the team so the corruptors and MMs can buff you.
5) Keep your eyes open for mobs that escape to the perifery of the battle, out of the aoes of the other players. Take them out.
6) Stay with the team.
7) you are likely to be the last man standing after a team wipe: take wakies or the res from the medicine pool.
8) Don't wander away from the team.
9) Pair up with a dominator, to take advantage of your critical against slept/held foes.
10) Don't run on to far ahead without your team.
11) When scouting, be proactive in calling out hidden threats, such as mobs hidden around corners, but remember not to get to far from your team. -
Yeah, good advice (person who persistantly attacks elec armor brute with a Peacebinger).

I have a similar build, but for different reasons. Fighting in nova form makes me feel sick! I would just try things out for now, see what you like, then worry about slotting when you get over around level 25 or so.
Thing I notice about your proposed build is you have more attacks than you could ever need (or hope to slot), and left your defenses, especially your heals, very late.
Oh, yeah, and chances are you will need stamina if you are going to do much in human form. -

I would so be up for this!!!
Stalkers could use a buff for PvE.
[/ QUOTE ]
Do they really need one though?
I have had no problems with my stalkers in pve that I could not eventually defeat. The only big problem I have on my stalkers are AOE effects but even those can be resolved.
[/ QUOTE ]
They need a buff for team PvE. Just about any other AT can add more to a team (especially a large team), wether it be damage, survivability, buffs, debuffs or control than a stalker can.
Solo PvE their performance is fine, an that would be my objection to the suggestion at the start of this thread, it would make them to good solo PvE, and also make them to similar to scrappers. We discussed this the other day on the suggestions board, and I became increasing convinced that what stalkers need is a -regen component on AS that scales with team size, which should make them highly desirable to teams as AV killers, without giving them a boost in PvP or solo PvE.
Full suggestion: AS gains -5% regen per team member, duration 8 seconds. -
My PB got beaten up in RV last night.
NERF ALL OTHER ATs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
One of the issues with the original release of pet sets is they where only really designed for MMs, with no +recharge.
SA is better for patron pets, Phantom Army and the like, whist still being useful in part for MMs.
I still don't understand why it doesn't get the recharge bonus though, all the other purple sets do. -
Hmm, not -recharge at tier 5? I wonder why not? Anyway, the first 4 tiers are worth having, And that leaves 2 slots left over for other goodness.
The chance of build up will increase the average damage of whatever it's slotted in, but ie ill be small, and if the recipent isn't making a significant contibution anyway, it will be even less. the rest of the set bonus means you don't need to burn a slot for it though. It's worth slotting, but its not worth shelling out for.
You could use your freespec to put it back up for sale. With a bit of luck there will be some other sucker will give you 70 mill for it. -
It's not useless. Its just nowhere near 70 million inf useful (on any pet). One of the reason for collecting the set is for the set bonus, 'specially the +10% recharge, not the individual effects.
-
[ QUOTE ]
And it's only working on the pet it's on.
[/ QUOTE ]
WAI. If the power summons more than one pet all pets summoned with that power will benefit, but not pets summoned by a different power.
The chance for build up should go in whatever attacks most rapidly.
An MM doesn't need the +recharge, and some of the +damage is redundant, so consider only using part of this set, in conjunction with the +def, +res globals, or whetever else can be usefully slotted in your pet (e.g. protector bots +def). -
Accolades have been changed in the latest test build. It now does not matter what level you earn them at.
-
Yeah, true. You want an invention to single slot in Barrage, you could go for a damage proc.
Otherwise a Common IO Taunt duration. -
Another issue of taunt working this way: Granite is even worse at holding aggro than we thought. We knew about the -recharge on taunt, but this indicates that the -dmg is a significant factor as well.

their uncanny ability to avoid aggro.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nothing uncanny about it, Stealth generates negative threat. -
CE is a debuff though, and debuffs presuambly generate threat like damage does. RttC also has a debuff component. INV only taunts though.
-
I've just realised something. I recently respeced Frosty into Icicles (in addition to CE), and I seem to keep the aggro longer when I activate hibernate now.
-
Stick a damage proc in INV!
-
It occurs to me that one good (if rather random) way to increase the threat of your taunt could be to slot it with the new chance of damage proc.
