pretty much any damaging corruptor power as the ability to scourge....

Ice Storm has SLIGHTLY lesser damage overall, numbers-wise. But thats also interpretive. I believe 1/2 of Ice's damage is in the Lethal category. A good many mobs have some sort of lethal resistance. While RoF is wholly Fire damage..... so in RL application, RoF may noticeably outperform IS in the damage scale of things....

Both may have the same "slow" effect values also. Im not sure if IS also has a -Recharge effect too - dont got time to check....
  5. 1) Nemesis - cuz he's like the Doctor Doom of AV's. He's got a zillion replicants and no one seems to know if you've even defeated the real one!

2)Imperious/Statesman - major league pbaoe damage, especially if location is debuffed! Will take out the other AV's if buff stacked and location is debuffed....

(both require everyone do a coordinated "click" on something, which seems to be the hardest thing on earth to do lol - and you got limited time)

    *LGTF
(because of Hamidon - gotta get key players, preferably strong)

    *Respec Trials

I was more curious if the activity itself was more likely to bring out someones addictive tendencies. Is WoW truly a more addictive game or does it just have a higher rate due to a larger population. If there is a higher sense of immersion is it easier to lose yourself and neglect RL?
Well, here's some safe assumptions about WoW...
*If you're a RP'r (especially as a troll or something else big or dumb), that explains ALOT
*If you've still stuck it out with WoW though each update totally makes the previous epic items obsolete w/ ineffective level scaling, you're an ADDICT
*If you bought into the game because of the MoHawk hand-grenade, everyone on CoH thanks you for doing so and keeping out of CoH (you friggin lemming)
*If you havent been able to progress from the swords'n'sorcery Everquest platform thats been OVER-REPLICATED by a zillion other games, and STILL play WoW, you're a crackhead AND a lemming...
*If you can tolerate asian gold farmers spamming the channels and continue to exploit the game mechanics w/o the company doing much about it, you are obviously a WoW addict AND a lemming

    :P

maybe there's a "sense" of challenge involved, and a possibility of failure? Achieving success against challenge usually my interpretation of fun. I think continually challenging yourself in diverse ways progresses your character and your own abilities... the day i feel "unchallenged" or too dominant in a game is the day i step away from it, usually

i went to the bars & clubs to fill up my time in my younger days to fill up my time. At least in gaming, it keeps you home and safe, and physically close to persons that loves you.

    Im w/ GP
  12. Best, well prob Fire

    Best ST, team-oriented = Sonic

one of the AT builds to suggest your friend, would be a Sonic/Dark corruptor as an opening set into CoH. Its a balanced set for solo and teaming. Darkest Night provides massive damage mitigation, even as a Secondary for solo play or teaming. Howl & Tarpatch helps out team damage & gives him a teaming element. Twilight Grasp is a massive team healer also. He may enjoy the dynamics of -resist stacking w/ his attack chain. He'll also can pick up a pet, Dark Servant, which he may enjoy too.
  13. i believe there have been other related studies on the affects of "X" amount of TV a child/teen is exposed to per day vs "X" amount of time spent in face-to-face social interaction. Same results.

I would tend to agree with the results, though the results are more reflective on the more "extreme" users of TV/Games, than the normal persons who maintain a decent balance of face-to-face social interaction. Imo, i'd guestimate most players here as normal persons who use TV/Games on a normal, acceptable basis.
  14. well, considering i keep free of most obligations, including a girlfriend, im free to outright binge on my days off lol.... Im not socially-inclined, so this behavior is very fitting. I generally dont find people as interesting. If i didnt game, surely i would find another activity that would keep me away from being surrounded by lemmings. Work overloads my social need and the days off serves as a break in that.

Most peeps would categorize me as a Gamer Addict, and thats fine. If you're able to drop in 20hr+ gaming sessions a pop w/o a problem, then yeah....

Then again, i usually step away from online gaming during the summer time entirely. The summer reserved for hi-nrg activities, like sports & working out. So to be able to step away voluntarily for extended times wouldnt warrant an addiction i'd say.
  15. 1) prob my fav is a steamroll ITF.... You can do ITF's pretty much with anything w/ some good debuffing for the end. Really enjoy the mass "mah mah monster-kill" of herding cims too...

2)Kahn TF - doesnt take many teammates to even start this top-tier tf. With some debuff, there are plenty of AV's to take down - and thats fun. Doesnt require a specific key player either. One time on an all-ranged pug team, i had a pvp blaster tank Reisch. Granted he was kept debuffed mostly and the blaster was kept buffed, some of the bene's of ranged chars..

3)Apex TF - i actually enjoy this one over the Tin Mage. The Battle Maiden scenario is fun and i enjoy seeing teammates getting challenged and die over and over. Who would have thunk that challenging your sense of positional awareness could be such a challenging task for some? The end is really a zip - just gotta keep on your toes and not get so locked on button smashing....
  16. another power consideration which was mentioned is your holds. Got 3 hold powers available to you. 2 of them together are enuf to lock up a boss, useful for soloing
  17. your culprits are DN & SF..... massive end drain toggles
assuming you're "SO" slotting... you NEED to 3slot those w/ End Redux....
IF you're running any pool power toggles, most are bad drainers too
Tarpatch can be 3rech 3end redux if you planning to invest it heavy...
MAKE sure you got Stamina 3slotted End Mod since you got probs...
Ice Storm can be 2or3 Recharge, 2or3 Damage, 1 End Redux
Frostbreath if used, can be 2ACC, 2 Damage, 1 Range, 1 End Redux
these are temp fixes till you can respec & get your lv50 IO's in

i would HIGHLY suggest in getting Dark Mastery for Dark Consumption(pbaoe End Leech) & Soul Drain(pbaoe ACC & Damage leech). Soul Drain will massively amp up your damage output for 30secs depending on how many you score with... Its buff duration is a VERY EFFECTIVE match for Ice Attacks because of its prolonged DoT attacks (Sleet, Ice Storm, Blizzard). Reversely, Aim is rather kind of lousy for Ice Attacks because the shortness of its duration. It benefits burst attacks and i dont have it on my Icerz

And if you're interested in mag-stacking, you can get Oppressive Gloom and use your Howling Twilight power to overwhelm boss' mez protection thats within your OG area, as long as OG scores
  18. lawlz - awsome card!

  23. Fearsome Stare is supa-pimp when used for -ACC. Massive damage mitigator and a big number to start with for the percentages to work off of good. Take in mind that -ACC IO's increases the EFFECTIVENESS of the ToHit debuff. Fear IO's affect the LENGTH of the "possible" fear animations, NOT the effectivenss.... Incurring damage can easily snap some out of the animation & wont affect bosses. Much greater gains in -ACC stacks, w/ DN and such....
  24. yeah, they gimped down the Corr's version of Soul Drain in CoV. Ironically, with Going Rogue, you can get the Defender's version instead lol. Not only does the Corr's version take twice as long (240secs vs 120secs), it affects less targets also.... Soul = 7, Dark = 10
My Corrs uses Dark Mastery and can keep Soul Drain perma...

The difference is access rate also. Corr's version is basically a tier1 power while the def's is tier 3, so it requires you to get 2 other powers prior. There's plenty of good powers in Dark mastery to pick from at least....
