pvpers wanted changes, then the devs didn't listen to their feedback about those changes.
besides, the point of the post was that having selective reading when you're asking for feedback is stupid. -

If I wanted to play against nothing but NPC's I would stick to playing Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts/or whatever whack a$$ console game you prefer, hell go play Dragon Age or Marvel Ultimate Alliance or something...
Kicking someone in the face and knowing they are sitting at home behind a PC crying there hearts out or lusting for the fight is the only incentive I ever needed...

having pvp give it's own rewards isn't why you should pvp but it enhances your experience. you add that in with the other stuff that the pvpers have been asking for like doing the mechanical overhaul that the game needs and putting in something other than deathmatch style pvp and this game would be the be all end all for pvp.

No incentive will get me to do it. Even if the I win button to beat the LRSF solo was given just for zoning into Warburg. Yes, I had a very bad couple of experiences way, way back when I first tried it and it was so bad that it has soured me from this part of the game to this day.
If you want to PVP, have at it I say. Your not affecting me at all because I'm not stepping into your "fun" but just wanted give a perspective from someone who's play time contains zero PVP.
this game is blessed with a fantastic ignore option. **** is so cash. hell I don't even go into rv with BC chat on anymore. unless of course i'm looking for something to lol at in which case...

I was going to use Medicine, but the interupts suck if you in a mob so I took ED.
also you really don't need medicine and I can't stand ED(heh) the damage is too low, the heal sucks and iirc it has a pretty lengthy cast time, which goes along with the set since basically every power has a 1.5+ cast time.
SC is up often enough to get a nice 500 heal off 1 enemy, that obviously varies depending on slotting and what you're healing off of but I find its sufficient enough to keep me alive.
and it's not like killing an enemy is hard, gravity well and shadow blast pretty much kills any minion or lt. on top of unchain and Extracted kill stuff you'll have plenty to heal off of. -

Toggle suppression. Stop dropping our toggles every time we shift forms! Every other archetype with no status protection access can at least have acrobatics. You won't even let us keep that.
Better damage scales. What else do you expect us to be doing?
Higher damage cap. Why should Warshades have the same damage cap as defenders when we are not support characters? PB's have one heal-- Does that really justify negating 100% damage from both Kheldian AT's?
Buff Photon Seekers to perform on the same level as dark extraction (after damage scale buff.)
Buff light form to a point where it is as useful as Eclipse (that's the point of this power, right?)
These few things would probably take a group of developers a week or less. All this time, COH has been rebuilding two zones, creating a totally new zone, making more than two new powersets, making a new tutorial, developing a free to play model, creating new incarnate trials, creating all new level 1-20 mission content, and probably working on new incarnate slots also. Fix the broken stuff first.
second, while i know the chances of this getting fixed are much higher than pvp, pvpers have been using the exact same argument you just used in this post for the last 2.5 years. It doesn't work all that well. not that it isn't a good argument i'm just saying that no matter what we say, the dev's won't do **** until they damn well feel like it. -

I know I haven't been around that long, but since I started playing this game my subscription has lapsed once and it was for less than a day. I have every intention of keeping my subscription on autofire (I've built for perma COH) if the staff plans on standing by what they've said--- Once again, that they value the opinions of their subscribers and take into account the feedback they get on the forums and every other means they've provided-- Which I've exhausted.

obviously khelds aren't nearly as labor intensive as any of those, depending on what they decide to do with the AT if anything at all, but thats still the habit they've formed.

on topic: theres really so much you can do in terms of advocating for changes to a game, you can give as much numerical and subjective evidence and feedback as you want but it really doesn't matter because the devs are going to fix something when the devs damn well please. period. pvp is a prime example of that, theres 3 years worth of data, feedback, and anything else you an ask for, yet nothing has been done. it's not the fault of the players for lack of trying, just nothing is going to get done until the devs decide they wanna do it. Dats just da way baseball go.
In short, I don't think theres anything to worry about. the AT as is has some serious flaws but still plays okay. it underperforms, sure, but not at all unplayable. when(if) the changes come, it'll be gravy, but not having anything isn't game breaking. -
this is my build, before I switched to a dual human/nova build because i found running all human on the itrials to be a royal pain.
it's got like 60 less hp than that build 1510 or something like that. but it's permahasten so, yea

you've got to fix balance issues before you implement any other different types of pvp. idealy, you'd do it at the same time, but at the very least, fixing the hugh mechanical problems need to be taken care off first and foremost. period. /thread.
will there still be problems and balance issues with whatever is changed? of course, it's impossible to not have that in an MMO, but the current system is so absolutely broken that putting something like this in it A) wouldn't be fun to participate in, B) wouldn't be worth it because it wouldn't take care of any of the negative stigma's that pvp has. it wouldn't bring in any long time pvpers. it might bring in some one timers, but eventually people will get pissed of by the system and pvp will be in the same shape it is now.

at a glance, i'd probably drop the shields since perma-eclipse makes them a moot point, unless ofcourse you ex down alot in which case they'd make more sense.

I have seen what happens when an MMO decides that it needs "new blood" and doesn't care who they have to lose in order to get it. All that does is show your new customers that you have the power to change the rules whenever you feel like it, and the veteran customers left out in the cold become a lobbying force against new people wanting to try your game.

I can name all the changes done to bases and pvp on one hand. and the majority of AE changes were exploit fixes and could count the rest of the normal non-exploit changes on the other hand.
off the top of my head, RPers got an incredible amount of costume pieces, emotes, [walk], new animations, ect. RPers have had tons of stuff asked for and gotten by this dev team.
the argument of whether or not those other communities deserve dev time is a fairly lenghty discussion that has already been had multiple times, but i've never heard of RPers being broughten up as not having ENOUGH done for them. thats a real stretch that just can't be made.

i've said this ever since they gave it to us for like a month afew years ago but is there a reason why players don't have unlimited free server transfers? the fact that they did it for a month straight makes me think that its not very labor intensive.

off topic: kinda disappointed that they didn't mention anything in the i21 announcement. I know that it hasn't even hit yet and theres still a possibility but one would think that something like that would be in there and be a selling point.

Really the only problem that I have with CB is that is a proximity buff which I think is complete BS. if/when they change it, i don't see why it can't be just people on the team and not people on the team AND within a whatever " radius. i'm on bored with a pseudo domination change, but if they do leave in the same mechanic just with a different buff (recharge or defense instead of damage or whatever) then i'd really like to see it not have the proximity limit on it.

The corruptor is a support secondary. He's there to do damage, and he'll buff when he wants to. Where it is common for a kin defender to keep his team SB'd, I am surprised if I see a kin corruptor who does the same.
to the OP, i think there is a reason to play a defender over corr, but you have to approach it on a case by case basis. for instance i've got a cold/ice defender that I was really tempted to reroll corr since the -res values in sleet and heatloss are the same and IIRC the only major differences in those sets were either the value or duration of the slows in every power. and even in those sets that do have a higher modifier on defenders, for instance off the top of my head freezing rain comes to mind 35% on defenders 30 for other versions, I figured that value was outweighed by the higher damage mod and scourge.
on the flip side of that though, my cold fendur is much easier to soft cap due to the higher defense mods, which if you're running 2-3 defense toggles adds up.
