this is a NW build I came up with, im sure there is something wrong with it, especially since i haven't fully played one yet but go ahead and rip it apart.

well im going by a build that mac, i think, made a while back with afew tweaks to cap percep. which isn't horribly expensive but more than I have.

well i've actually already got a bane at 50 but unslotted and am playing the NW up right now. I'm more or less broke redside though so this is essentially when i can switch them over to pimp slot them.

Been trying to decide which to make since both do fairly well in PvE but was wondering the difference since i've seen more bane than NW/forts in zones (although that isn't really saying much since i haven't seen many banes). so im wondering if one fairs better than the other, or if it matters since both get shatter.

To Castle and all the developers on CoH, thank you for making a game I enjoy so much and don't let the negative people ever get you down
EDIT: also, with the exception of this and the AoE capp nerf which was originally much lower in beta, people generally thank the devs no matter what they do. even the botz nerf from what i remember people were thanking them. I don't think its unfair to call them on a change that is complete crap. -

And besides... WHY can a TF continue when you FAIL 2 missions??? Huh? That's never made any since to me. And for full rewards too. That's just stupid. IMO of course. -

ranged defense, kite like hell, do some quick ST damage to whatever needs to be killed and cancel jump TF.
but yea, its kinda hard to say anything without seeing a build. -

Seriously, if the TF is too easy, then relook at the rewards. People do this TF over and over because it is FUN. Because it is co-op, high level, and just plain fun. WHY screw with that?
I seriously hope this is reconsidered. Until then, I will miss the LGTF, but will consider it offline until it is do-able by a normal team again. -
why was it fixed in the first place? even if they did have negative holds, it wasn't tf breaking or exploitable.

freedom pvp is basically 24/7. id say virtue is probably just as good for most casual pvpers(if they exist anymore) because its not as srs bsnz as freedom is, but thats just from my experience from free server transfers, so take that for what it's worth.

I wouldn't build cold as a buff bot since your shields will get DR'd to s**t. I would use /cold and /heat (again, therm?) as disruption/sapp. However, id probably switch the two(in fact i did) by which i mean make a cold/ for pve fun and a /therm for pvp. -

Frostworks is great for people not already at the hp cap. Frostworks is great on static teams. Frostworks is great on pvp teams with set builds across the participants.Think about it..... one power with minimal slotting basically allows any group to io for bonuses other than + hp.
Sure, not every player will agree or disagree about that particular power but to state " frostworks sucks" as a fact just because you think so is plain silly.
I loved teaming with /cold corrs when I ran my veats. I bet you can't even guess why..lol. -

As a follow up to the definition of a hero questions, this time I'd like to know what makes your villains "evil"? And to further the thought, what really is "evil"? Sometimes, the answer is not always so black and white.
If you were to look at Darth Vader and Magneto, it can be argued that they are not necessarily "evil" in the classic sense. Both started as "good" and have chosen to stand for what they believe in and protect those they hold dear. Yet as we all know, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions".
Thinking of your villains (or any favorite villain you may have from TV, books, films etc.), what qualities sets them apart as "evil"?
- What motivates them?
- Is it money? Power? Or something less granular?
- What are their beliefs?
- Do they consider themselves "evil"?
- Are they connected to your hero in some way?

look, if you're main purpose is to do damage than A) you shouldn't be doing a defender and B) you shouldn't be doing FF and/or emp
both FF and Emp are buff sets in pvp, if you don't take the buffs in either set, then you're basically a nerfed blaster.
for duels, against any experienced pvper, you'll get wrecked, and in zone with no buffs you'll be basically worthless. defenders excel in disruption and buffing, neither of which those builds do any of. even for a damage build, you still have no vertical movement so TS is gonna suck for you, and you have no exit i.e. phase so thats gonna be an issue(even with PFF anything with aim/bu will hit you anyway, as i said defense will get DRed to nothing) not to mention taking fighting does nothing for you.
defenders aren't laughable in pvp, an FF/DP or emp/DP that only wants to do damage is. The current pvp system, awsum as it is, unfortunately doesn't help most concept builds, if its not specialized it'll be much harder for you to excel. if you're absolutely hell bent on going DP, you're better off making a DP/EM since you'll atleast do some damage and can be built to have some pretty good range in it.
