Just to note, I played two games this sunday, one using Chain Reactor, and another using Lady Grey, both against the fire Tank Caldera.
Chain Reactor Destroyed Caldera in one hit, it wasn't even a match, I just waited until I got a focused, dropped a Siphon Power, got an enraged off, then did a few other things and the match was over in only a few turns.
Lady Grey Vs Caldera was a tought fight though, had my opponent attacked more, he would have gotten me, but because he was slow on the attack, Lady won out in the end with her healing (being able to heal 8 to 10 HP an attack really draws out the game). My oppenent usually fights a guy that uses Serpent Drummer, and even he had to say that Lady was just all around superior to SD. -
Well, they don't have SR in the game yet, so, she's regen.
-
Lady Grey's Regen is similar to pre-I4, but that's due to her ability, which can be keyed off of the other regen abilities (like Fast healing and Integration) for insane healing everytime she attacks, and with the lack of a rules mend to say you can't put Reduce endurance cost on an auto power, you're healing for free every turn you attack.
The other Guy, Serpant Drummer, isn't very good at regening, and without his MA stunning abilities, he seems a bit lacking compaired to Grey, who will make you hit for less, or or just plain miss. -
Defensive Teleport is great, it pretty much tells someone they're not hitting you.

So far I've enjoyed the CoH card game, I do see some rather broken characters which I'll comment on later, but other then that it's pretty good.
As far as broken characters:
Glitterdance with chilling embrace is nasty, worse if you can drop Wet Ice on her and make it so CE can't be turned off until you drop her.
Lady Dark is nasty plain and simple, with the right combo of cards out (not many) she can heal endless amounts of health each turn while making herself really hard to hit
Finally Chain Reaction is a damage god, assuming non-inspiration use, and one prep turn when you get atacked, you can get him up to 29 damage in a round, and that's assuming you're starting fresh without a status on the other player, you can get him really nasty of you add in Red Lighning and Combined attacks, getting Blaze on Red Lighning with card to drop from AM, and Chain's signature power, you can rack up some stupid damage numbers. -

Not many of the AoE powers are anything more than Mag 2 at the most. Too powerful else. I'm not aware of anything holding a boss without it being a single target effect.
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe Salt Crystals from Earth control can hold bosses in one hit, that or I've been really, really, really lucky with my +1 mags. (I'm hit a group containing three Freaktanks and slept all three) -

3) Spec Ops are limited to 1 per spawn point for generic spawns. There may be specific encounter groups designed with more than one, however.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've seen groups with multiple Spec Ops, solo and teamed.
[ QUOTE ]
4) The Sonic Concussion power blows through anyones Hold protection, but it only lasts 1/4 of a second. It is working as designed, however, I'll pass this to geko to see if it is too strong of an effect.
[/ QUOTE ]
So when there was a public outcry against this same basic effect on Ballista, you parade this crap around proudly like this?
[ QUOTE ]
5) Arachnos is fairly tough, too -- especially if there are Fortunata's around.
[/ QUOTE ]
I rarely see Fortunas, and even more rarely do I see them do anything, speaking as a villain who has to fight both Arachnos and Longbow, they're both not easy, but longbow, with it's bosses that hit for monster damage and random crap from minions like Spec Ops and the LT Nulifiers, it's much more painful, debt giving and annoying then any other NPC group. -

Loveline is a great show by the way.
Anyway, if you see Frenzied Dragon or Konoka in Siren's, that's me. Man is it hard to PvP with a Mastermind, but possible, though I end up looking like an incompetant Deadboy clone... -
The problem I see currently is too many of the Fight Club people expect the non-FC people to play by their rules.
Two examples:
Something Speed, an Invuln tank who was hosting the FC ran off the building and got ASed by a stalker, being as he was my bounty and I was in the area (Blue warriors = free inspirations, and I still can't freaking buy them in Sharkhead), I ran up while he was limping back to the FC and finished him off.
He was my bounty and I his, he wanted me to participate in a match and I didn't feel like it, because I made a power selection mistake on my build which limits my ability to have a "fair fight" in a one on one (damn you free respec, where are you?) and it's very hard to build fury in PvP (which wouldn't be a problem if I grabbed the right power), so I need to be a sneaky gent and take people out while they're injured or I know I can beat them. Of course this leads to hurt feelings and general "Man that guy is a jerk" thoughts, when someone was just doing what you're supposed to do in the zone.
Second example: RAYDOG (DOC?) was hovering around the FC building when there was no FC going on, he was my bounty, so I Total Focused him, which caused him to plumit to the ground and take massive falling damage, which helped me finish him off, afterwords he cursed at me in PM. Course earlier he had made it clear I was his bounty, and he asked me to join the FC, of which I told him he needed to earn it.
Both of those situations could have been avoided had the FC not been installed. Also, isn't the arena channel for setting up fights in the arena? Doesn't it hit both villains and heroes? Any reason why you can't set up rated events in the arena over it, or open an FC global channel for holding fights in the arena? -
I enjoy Warberg, Siren's is okay, but I miss Energy Transfer.
So far I've taken down a few people, and only been taken down once or twice. I've gotten Undead Cyborg a couple times, DB and I have traded deaths, maybe, Trip Mines don't bother me much, as both have found out.
Cyborg, Orice and some other Blaster tried to raid the hospital in Warberg and I killed both Blasters and chased Orice out.
I've helped Quason a bit, being a brute, I just stand around and watch him sneak up and one shot things that think they can kill me. -

Every power, across the board, is getting a 13.33% reduction in its Endurance cost.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh goody, that'll make up for the 33.33 reduction in endurance gain I just recieved!
No wait, it won't.
I'm now spending 20% more endurance per attack, having to attack 1/3 as much, but now have enough slots to barely make up for hasten in recharge.
Who is feeding you these crap ideas anyway? -
So what, this puts in a PvP based "save Jackson Turner" mission that when completed earns the accolade "Make Gilgy and Jackson get off their [censored] and put out a story" that recharges every two weeks?
-
What if you have proof of your deserving of said badge, like a souvenir? As I have two from two of the SS TFs, would I be able to contact a GM, have those in my souvenir list and be rewarded with the badge because I have irresputable proof of doing the two TFs?
-
I'm going to pitch in with Windstorm, are there any plans to make, let's say a section of the official site, into a place where we can get the info of individual villians, heroes and groups through out the game.
I love ready the right click-->info stuff, but that's hard to get ahold off when you're looking for information, plus some heroes (like the trainers) don't have anyway to get their info. -
It took you guys long enough to figure out that the problem with Burn was it's obscene damage.
Now fix the whole mob scatter and de-aggro when it's used.
Also either put the immobilize protection in one of the toggles, perhaps Blazing Aura because of the sweep away it does at the feet, or allow burn to be perma with the decreased DPS this change gives it. Give Fire tanks knockback protection while you're at it. -

I did say one other thing - that dropped Enhancements are useful only for what you can sell them for - because everyone purchases their Enhancements at the store (or at least most of them).
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, one reason for not slotting drops is the randomness of drops, I've seen a total of like 6 recovery increase enhancers on my blaster from 1-50 in drops, and only one of those was usable by my character. Also some characters are not able to harvest the drops they need from certain enemies because of weaknesses or resists.
The fact that I have to fight 2+ minimum to get anything green is another factor, it was much easier to just get store bought enhancements then try to take on oranges and reds with my blaster.
And Story wise the stores do make sense, local busnesses make gear for heroes, the heroes endorce the store (giving them "influance") and the stores make more money from the civies that go to X store because Hero Y shops there. -

The one thing that annoys me with saying blasters have wits over scrappers is that if someone does both, most of the time they'll do better with the scrapper then the blaster. Tactics will make a good blaster, but equal tactics will make an unstoppable scrapper.
[/ QUOTE ]its a good point this tactics mentioned are for blasters only since scraps have a different playing style than blasters for scrapps normally I have been thinking of tactics with there sec effects in there powers especially with MA.. well as before blaster are more tactical base instead of the scrapps and tanks.
[/ QUOTE ]
Reguardless of what AT you play, Tactics are tactics, there are different tactics for different ATs, but assuming someone has the same level of tactics all around, they'll do good as a blaster, but as a scrapper they'll be a death god. -

-
I am unaware of why Blasters, which are supposed to be the most damaging AT in the game, having the highest damage cap is bad. Tankers get the highest damage resistance cap, and that's what they're for, as it stands, this is like scrappers having the highest damage resistance cap, with tanks baselinging as the lowest.
I could understand sharing the cap, but not having it is just bad form, and having the worst damage cap (even shared) with easy ways to reach it alone is also in bad form. -

"Note that a Scrapper will NEVER be killed by a yellow and a white". . .
if the white is a Sapper, and the yellow is a Malta lieut that stuns, yeah, I could see them dropping my toggles and chainstunning me to death.

That's like my blaster, except I don't need the sapper... -

To be honest, this is the second time someone has mentioned that I seemed like in a bad mood. Sorry about that - I really wasn't. In fact, it was my birthday that week and Philly is my hometown. My only stress was family related!
The worse thing about the show (if there was anything to call "worse") was that people were more interested in the NCSoft bag than City of Heroes!
[/ QUOTE ]
Typical, right after I tell him he should take a break if he's in a bad mood he goes and posts this. Damn you Statesman! Why did you premptivly answer my question! And where's our community Rep? Come on Cuppa, no word on the S-man's Birthday? What was in those bags that was so important?
Happy Birthday Jack. Hope it was restful. -

B) my fire tank generates XP much faster
[/ QUOTE ] The reality of that situation may have disappeared for many now that Burn invokes terorr/panic/mobs run away form the burn patch. I don't know for certain as i have not tested it, but Fire tankers are in a class by themselves because they can herd far more mobs together than any blaster. Again, I'm sure P-US spines/inv could probably rival Fire tankers, back when US could be perma.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fire/ice, crap doesn't run from me. -

[ QUOTE ]
Blasters are very good at soloing up until the 30s then IMHO they become ineffective
[/ QUOTE ] A blaster's ability to generate xp "solo" is probaby unrivaled throughout their career. Maybe Spines/DA can generate more xp faster. What blasters claim they can't do is finish their missions. Per the devs, soloing is not defined by the ability to finish all your story arcs solo.
[/ QUOTE ]
I disagree
A) you're assuming a fire or AR blaster for AoE. Ice, elec, and eng cann't put out that great of an XPph number.
B) my fire tank generates XP much faster, there is no fear of dying, and I don't have to pick and choose my groups, plus with Healing flames and consume I rarely run out of HP or end. It's about the same with AoE based scrappers, and controllers with damaging pets (illusion and Fire especially). If my blaster didn't have to worry about dying I may out XPph other things, but if my blaster ever didn't have to worry about dying, I wouldn't be solo. -
[ QUOTE ]
Interesting observation. But let's take it in context. Blasters are not supposed to be able to solo even level bosses, per the Statesman.
[/ QUOTE ]
What about controllers, defenders, Tankers and scrappers, are they supposed to solo even con bosses? If so, why are blasters supposed to be the only one that can't? Why do they have to ride the short bus of Boss soloing?
Isn't that a balance concern if Blasters can't solo boses and everyone else can? Does that not mean blasters are inherently weaker then the other ATs?
That's fair to you?
