Yes, I like this one. ^_^

And to think, I recently (within last 4 months) used a bunch of free costume changes and the save & load costume feature on several characters simply to switch my costumes around so that the best one would be in the first slot....

  3. Well my real healzor story was the last time I played my Infinity version of Mouse Police. she's an empath/energy, about level 22, and I got on a team with a moron leader who got mad at me because the team wiped 2-3 times (they were attempting stuff a couple of levels higher, and it it wasn't a great team) and I had the gall to try blasting in between heals. Never mind that my heals were firing as fast as they popped up and I was hardly short of endurance, he told me several times "JUST CONCENTRATE ON HEALING!" as if I were incapable of doing anything else, or as if doing nothing else was going to let me heal any faster.

After the second time I told him I thought he wanted a different kind of defender and quit. I put "Warning: I blast!" in my search comments. But frankly I rarely play my empath defenders because of morons like this.
  4. Not really a healzor story, or even a bad tank story per se, but I was on a team last week with a relatively new tank who had to pull around the corner EVERY SINGLE TIME. He even got complimented for being such a good tank -- and he was doing a decent job, thank God he didn't stand around for 2 minutes making sure everyone knew where he was pulling to, he just went ahead and did it -- but even when there was nothing but a hostage with 3 people around her, he would taunt them and pull them around the nearest corner. Lol.

I also laughed because at one point we had, I don't remember, 4 scrappers I think, and all but me were completely ignoring what the tank did and charging in full-tilt. Which is, after all, a scrapper's right. But it didn't stop the tank from trying to rush ahead of everyone and get his taunt and pull in first.

That was actually a pretty good team.

He was the 3rd Controller on Virtue to hit 40 before they upped the cap to 50 and still fun to play, but not much to do with a Level Cap Toon.

Has anything changed drastically? I was at most of the scheduled raids along time ago. It would be nice to see hundreds of people in action again, even though it took a minute or more for an action to happen. 8^)

I am still a member of VirtueUnited Channel that used to be the old Hami Raid Channel. Is there a new one to listen to the chatter?
Lots has changed. I only did hami raids a couple of times in the old days back on Pinnacle, but I've attended maybe a dozen since June this year on Virtue.

*zone is capped at 50 players.
*Hami respawns mitos at 75% health, then again at 50%, then again at 25%.
*Hami itself is spawned by player action (hunting GMs once everyone's ready).

I'm sure there are a lot of other differences, but given that I don't remember old-style hami raids very well, I wouldn't be the best person to explain the differences. ^_^
  6. I don't know that it was a bad team per se. There was a decided lack of leadership early on, but I think most of the players were good at playing their characters (and I can't say that I was all that great, I usually play scrappers so when I play my troller I can be easily confused ). But I think it was a bad team in terms of the various ATs we had and how they fit together, and since at least some of the players (like me) were being added pickup-group style without any real knowledge of what you were getting, setting it to +4 was obviously a bad idea.

But you never know until you try. ^_^

Having no tank was a problem. We had no brute, we had one MM who was not able to tank. We had an SR scrapper which turned out to be a bad set against hami (I've always taken my regen scrapper to hami raids and not my SR, but I hadn't realized what a difference the two sets could make). Our defender was sonic, and I was /radiation, so only people near me got healed (couldn't really heal the scrapper while she took on the yellow mitos). We also could have used holds, or clear mind... list goes on, really. ^_^ A lot of seemingly good players, that did not make up an effective team.
  7. Zero to thread derailment in 30 seconds!

(Well actually, it took a couple of hours...)
  8. ZOMG, Zombie is an xploiter!

See, that's why the LGTF I was on last night was over 3 hours and then failed. I was paying for the sin of having been on one of Zombie's speed LGTF's.

Anyway, one of the other things that I haven't seen mentioned: escorting a lowbie through a high level zone? 2nd level player wants to run to Icon? Just add them to your high-level team and let them run there on their own, even if you're in a different zone.

Of course, the reverse is also true. If you're running through PI on your level 50 and receive an invite to a level 25 team, don't forget that you're now level 25! I haven't died because of this, but I have been surprised to see purple-conning stuff where I expect to see only gray-cons.
  9. Sheesh, how did I double post when I only hit save once?
  10. Virtue seems to be the popular server these days, more and more. I'm wondering if it'll be locked?

Ah well. That's why I have a 50 on Victory too, I guess.
  11. I joined a LGTF last night, thinking it would probably take an hour or so, but they set it to +4 so that we had level 54 enemies. The Clock King took nearly 20 minutes to kill by himself (plus we had no tank so he ran all over the place). One room in an early mission was in itself a 15 or 20 minute fight, during which someone said that we "didn't need to clear the room" but we were already fighting a rolling battle that eventually included everything in the room. Even the rescue mission that we failed on purpose to shorten things took at least 20 minutes. Then we hit level 54 Hami and ran into a wall. Our lone scrapper was SR, and died more than 20 times... she kept complaining that she'd never been hit so much, and people kept replying "level 54 hami" and "hami is auto hit". Finally I pointed out to her that hami was destroying my so-called untouchable phantom army, and she just laughed. That was just before we admitted that we simply couldn't defeat hami... we had everything else cleared, and got it down to half health, but people couldn't stay alive long enough to finish.

I guess that's fun for some people though. ^_^
  12. I could probably do 900 million influence for a billion infamy if you want. I have a lot more influence than infamy on Virtue. I really wouldn't want to do more than that though; I have more money heroside because I play there a lot more often. ^_^

Sweet spot seems to be level 30-35. Thunderstrikes, level 30-40, seem to sell out as fast as I list them.

This will probably change when the folks that are buying these finally get to level 50, but I've also noticed that people are not leveling at the insane rates that occurred with AE. Sure, there's still PL'ing but no more level 50s in 6-8 hours. So, bargain hunting for stuff you can frankenslot your character may be profitable for marketeers for quite some time.
Can I blame you for the one character I have with a bunch of Focused Smith IOs that aren't selling?

    Trying to Adapt

Prices on most of the recipes that I normally buy have gone up, but in many cases so has the sale price of the crafted IO, because there are fewer being sold.

Specific examples: Mako's Bite and Scirrocco's Dervish IOs. I used to be able to buy most of these recipes for 5,000 or 10,000 a piece. Now in most cases that's not possible, and I'm spending maybe 300,000 or 500,000 per recipe. Price is partly offset by cheaper salvage, of course. For the more useful IOs (damage/recharge, accuracy/damage) there are fewer being sold and where I might have sold for 3-4 million in the past, they may be going for 5-6 million or even 8-10 million now, depending on how limited the supply is.

In cases where recent prices have been as much as 10 million, and there are very few for sale (say, 10-15), I raise my sale price accordingly. ^_^

(I admit, it may take longer for them to sell, due to my price or just lower turnover. But I'm not losing money.)

I know there are probably IOs like you describe that the price of the recipe and the sell price of the IO are too close to make a profit (at least, within a reasonable wait time) but that's hardly true for all IO recipes.
  15. I've been on a big scrapper kick pretty much all Summer. After having only 4 level 50's as of Spring 2008 (when I got my first 50 villain) and no more added through Spring 2009, I've managed to hit 50 five more times this Summer, and not really because of AE, several of these were characters who were already in their 40's last year. Three of my new 50s were scrappers, giving me 4 level 50 scrappers, 3 of them on Virtue.

After hitting 50 a few weeks ago with my MA/Invul scrapper, I IO'd her out and had fun playing her for a bit. But then... I wanted to play a lower level character that could earn experience, and I wanted it to be a scrapper, and I wanted to stay on Virtue. Problem was... I was running out of Virtue scrappers to level.

I had a low level thorns scrapper, so in the last two weeks I gave her neat new thorns (much better than the old ones, I could never get into the old look) and played her up to level 28. I also had two different low level broadsword/shield scrappers, and didn't want to play both of them up but also I liked each for concept reasons.

Anyway, over the weekend I took one of those BS/Shield scrappers from level 8 to level 20. I got invited to Virtue's new scrapper channel. Then I created a new claws/DA scrapper (both sets that I've never really played to high levels) named Sewer Ratty, who I plan to only level in the sewers as kind of a fun challenge. I got her to level 10 in a single sewer run. Along the way it occurred to me that a support character might have been a better choice for such an experiment -- sewer teams always need support -- but the, it wouldn't be a scrapper. ^_^

Then, on my second account, I bought some new character slots. There was this old screen image that had been popping up all day for me (courtesy of Leandro's screen replacing program) that displayed an old low level tanker that I'd since deleted (because I had too many of the same type of tanker). I'd always liked that character's look, so after purchasing new slots, I created yet ANOTHER MA scrapper (I already have at least 4 to level 20 or higher) with the same look. I pacted her with the other broadsword/shield scrapper that I didn't necessarily feel like playing up, and I managed to get the pair up to level 9.

I also got invited to the new Virtue scrapper channel again, this time on my 2nd account. ^_^ They were doing an all-scrapper team at level 50 set to +4 in PI, which sounded like a lot of fun, but I was already on a team at the time.

I should add, virtually every team I was on this weekend had at least 3 scrappers and often 4 or 5. They're more popular than ever.

Anyway... that's 37 levels total on 4 different scrappers, and I have a nice new stable of low-to-mid level scrappers to play with again. I feel better.
  16. Nice. ^_^

And I agree -- once I got my main to 2 million, I spent a bit. Then I was down to less than 1.3 million and I started to panic. "Oh no! I'm almost POOR!" A few hundred million just doesn't feel like that much anymore.
  17. Thanks. In order to do all of that, I first had to cancel my account. I wasn't even given the option to add more time unless i first cancelled my account.

Forcing me to cancel my account in order to purchase more character slots != a well thought-out sales strategy.

    But it did work. ^_^
  18. I have two accounts. My second account is currently set up to bill through Paypal. I'd like to buy more character slots for this account, but I'm not allowed to because I have no credit card on file for this account.

Is there a way around this?

Also, I've gone into account management and I see no option anywhere to add a credit card. When I go to Billing Summary, my only option is to cancel my account.

I'd add a credit card if it would let me.

I'd buy character slots in the store (via the web or via the character selection screen) if it would let me.

I have money. Why doesn't NCSoft want me to spend it?
  19. I just thought this was kind of fun. I logged into a level 1 MasterMind this morning who was still sitting in Breakout. I summoned my ninja and went about my business breaking out of the Zig. I talked to Kalinda and ran all of her missions. I killed in the street along the way and hit level 6. I talked to Mongoose. I ran all of his missions. During one of them, when I was level 7, I went ahead and summoned my 2nd ninja so that I'd have two.

I finished all of Mongoose's missions, hit level 8, left Mercy Island, talked to the trainer outside the arena and then logged.

In all that time, the ninja I'd summoned in the tutorial had followed me everywhere. He never died, I never had to re-summon him.

Pre-I16 I would have had to summon him dozens of times, and I might not have had him following me while I ran from one mission to the next.

Also, last night I joined a level 10 team. I was level 8. I hit 9, and 10, and 11... and we were still a level 10 team. The leader wanted to run all content on one character as he leveled up, so he had exp turned off. I actually got all the way to level 17 on the same team, running level 10 content. ^_^

The team was very stable -- people left when they were ready to log out, not because they were the wrong level. I imagine that pre-I16, someone who wanted to run level 10 missions for several hours without gaining experience would have had a huge headache on their hands keeping the team filled and balanced with sidekicks and whatever.
  20. picking a slot requires the store to be up, I think. That is, assigning a slot that you've paid for to a specific server still requires the interaction of the store.

Anyway, not the same problem as this. I don't think. Unless Aluminum_Dave is stealing people's slots. ^_^
  21. Right now I'm very enamored of my MA/Invul scrapper, softcapped for smashing/lethal. I have a lot of fun with my fire/fire blaster for pure damage and my illusion/rad troller too.

(Those are out of my stable of level 50's.) ^_^
  22. I'd consider that an upgrade myself.

That's actually a pretty good name. ^_^ But now people will try to prevent me from being built, or something....
  24. I know it said I wasn't logged in, and no matter how many times I logged in, it looked like I wasn't logged in.

Then I just went to one of the sub-forums, and lo and behold, I really was logged in.
