  1. At first I thought OP was a tank (note: not tanker) but then I saw only 4 mobs killed him, then I thought healer (note: not defender), finally, I settled on someone I never want to team with.
  2. I ordered the Logitech Dual Action gamepad, the model I had that worked well with CoX until something gave out in the cord. This one worked, just like the old one (can't have USB Overdrive enabled for it, so it should work out of the box for someone not running that sort of helper).

One thing to note, the picture used on Amazon, and intermittently in the Logitech store, is of an older model. The version that works for sure has a mode button and LED in the middle below the "start" and "select" buttons and has a cross on the D-Pad. The older version, which I have not tried, does not have the mode button and LED and it has a smooth D-Pad.

I also ordered one of the 'generic' Playstation2 to USB adapters which hasn't arrived yet so I don't know which manufacturer I'll end up with.

Summary: Logitech Dual Action works without needing drivers or 3rd party programs.
  3. Thanks for the views on this, I couldn't manage to get it working so I returned it. Any suggestions on PS2 like gamepads that do actually work with CoX on Mac, preferably ones that don't need a helper application like USB Overdrive?
  4. Has anyone gotten a Logitech F310 gamepad to work with CoX?

I had an older Logitech dual stick gamepad that worked quite well under CoX until the cord gave out. I ordered a F310 after seeing some posts that it worked just fine on a Mac when in 'D'irect Input mode.

I can get USB Overdrive to usually detect it and all the button presses save for right stick left and right but CoX doesn't register it at all.

That means SR resists any and all changes to any of the attack types: melee_attack, ranged_attack, etc. It would resist its own toggles if those were not unresistable buffs.
For mixed,WP for example, sets would it then be possible to have typed resistance to defense so that it could have good defense resist for F/C/N/E where it is almost entirely defense based and lower defense resist for S/L where it is more resist than defense?

    Is it just me...

It's starting to get the feel of the boards for that 800lb gorilla game, unfortunately part and parcel with having raiders.

Griefers transcend being a mere hero or villain.
  8. Between being burnt out on other endgame raiding and favoring ATs that can be antisocial and not be hampered by it, not really.

If it's like that other game after the other people I usually play with burn themselves out chasing Ultimate Power I'll still be happily casually plodding along, and enjoying it, though I'm not sure I really want to sub to yet another game after they locust this one.

The things that cost non-zero whole number multiples of the influence cap or 30 A-merits per piece? Ya, totally what I was looking for.

Wait, you mean someone actually USES all those level 50 recipes and IOs that I throw at the market? Pft, level 25's FTW! You still get more enhancement value than SOs provide, you rarely suffer the effects of enhancement scaling when exemplared, and the set bonuses stay with you unless you're running REALLY low-level content... and then you don't need the set bonuses anyways!
The good mid-level recipes seem to exist as often and in the same quantity as the Contaminated in RV. Spending A-merits (if possible) or R-merits on some non-LotG-grade piece feels excessive but seems to be the only way to fix the non-existence problem without the help of the RNG god.

"Sort of purple" sets at 50 would be nice, bonuses that exist from 1-50 but otherwise normal non-purple values. And more diversity than just accuracy and recharge.
  11. Isn't 60% the new 45% with some Praetorian mobs and tip DE?

For new players there's nothing like teaming with a purpled-out-set-bonuses-ignore-level-scaling monster who can wipe out the entire map before their loading screen finishes. 100% global recharge 60% global accuracy vs. unslotted or maybe TOs, ya, totally fun for the newbie. Even for level 50s teaming with a 'barney' can lead to feelings of "I'll just go stand in this corner if that's ok with you".
  13. If I am on a character without good (energy defense OR -end resist) AND (reliable mez OR high burst damage) any mission with Shock Treatment. End drain and a god mode, very annoying. Not impossible but spending 10 minutes jousting her on a tanker to try to keep some end for your tanker's toggles and then sitting through 2 minutes of not being able to scratch her is a bit much. Now when my tanker with Energy Melee got stun, energy transfer and total focus she got a lot less annoying as I could take her up to the god mode point, pop reds, hit stun and then let ET and TF finish her off while stunned. Other than Shock Treatment any mission that has a chance at the Arachnos map with the huge room of lag. My computer is old and normal Arachnos maps drop the frame rate to slideshow levels but this map takes that lag and level shifts it up.

    If you always hit.

End reduction always works. Damage only works on a hit.

So endurance reduction is the best early on when you're stuck with TOs and DOs for accuracy. Next is accuracy for lowering the amount of end that gets wasted on misses. Then you get to damage for increasing the efficiency of the attack when it does hit.
  15. I'm running on a mac so I'm already stuck with an usb controller program. I'll probably sacrifice one of the d-pad buttons I had been using for zoom control.

Hadn't thought of that approach at all so thanks for the suggestions. Though if there's any devs lurking about a way to simulate a left click in a macro or just a powexec_name_at_location would be very nice.
  16. I've been using a gamepad which has worked quite well until I started some builds that use location targeting powers. I've tried a macro with powexec_name for them but they still bring up the targeting reticule. I'd prefer to not have to switch over to the mouse for those powers so the mod+lbutton binds aren't what I'm looking for.

Does anyone have a macro (or a bind if that is the only way) to get those types of powers to fire off on a press of a gamepad button without requiring a mouse click? I generally leave the mouse cursor centered on the character which is where I'd generally want those powers to target.
