Quote:March 3rd, with Issue 22.So how long ago are the buffs people are talking about? I remember they got buffed a bit before I left, but it seems like they got some more recently.
Quote:* All Stalker APP attack powers now have a chance to critically hit, based on the number of players in the stalker's group. All single-target attacks in Stalker APPs now have a 100% chance to crit while Hidden. All AoE attacks in Stalker APPs now have a 50% chance to crit while Hidden. These values match the critical strike chances of Patron power pools and Stalker primary power set attacks.
* Assassin Strike (All versions): This power now functions differently while not Hidden (or have just used Placate). When attacking a foe when Hidden, it will behave normally dealing tremendous damage with a chance to demoralize nearby foes, but it can be interrupted. However, when the power is used while you're not Hidden it will deal Superior damage and is uninterruptible. Assassin Strike while not Hidden has a base 0% chance to crit. Assassin's Strike will gain an orange highlight ring when the user has 3 stacks of Assassin's Focus.
* Assassin's Focus: All damaging powers found in the Stalker's primary power set, other than Assassin Strike, have a chance to grant the user a stack of the Assassin's Focus buff. Powers with longer recharge times have a much higher chance to grant a stack of Assassin's Focus than those with fast recharge times. This buff will increase Assassin's Strike's chance to critically hit (for +100% damage) while not hidden by 33.3%. Assassin's Focus stacks up to 3 times. Using Assassin's Strike outside of hide will remove all stacks of Assassins's Focus. Assassin's Focus has a unique icon that should help distinguish it from other auto powers.
* Stalker Buffed Max HP modifier has been increased from 1 to 1.3. This results in Stalker's potential Buffed Max HP increasing from 1606 to 2088 at level 50. This will allow powers like Dull Pain and Frostworks as well as +Max HP set bonuses to have a greater potential effect.
* The above changes have been made to remove some unnecessary archetype penalties (low buffed max HP) as well as to allow Stalkers to deal more competitive single target burst damage. -
Quote:Yeah, Tanks aren't allowed to use the same bathrooms or water fountains, and aren't even allowed in the front of the bus like Brutes; it's terrible. As much as we all enjoy saying JB is crazy, fact is he is right in a lot of ways about how tanks are treated compared to Brutes. It is BS.

Quote:Yes; they occasionally refer to getting powers at a trainer using that phrase. Like Swap Ammo from Dual Pistols:Im going to assume "purchasing this power" (i.e. staff mastery), you mean selecting it as a power at an appropiate train-up time and not a purchase separate from the power set itself. Ya, knit-pick, but wording is strange to me.
Quote:By purchasing this power, you will be granted the Cryo Ammunition, Incendiary Ammunition and Chemical Ammunition toggles. -
The Fitness Pool going inherent - Stamina by level 2.
Travel powers at level 4.
New powers for the travel power pools; Burnout, Spring Attack, Afterburner, Long Range Teleport.
Ancillary/Patron Pools available at level 35.
If you like Stalkers, they just got some very nice buffs, like Assassin's Strike being usable out of Hide.
There was another round of Power Proliferation.
The Circle of Thorns got a makeover.
Enhancement Converters, letting you randomly change one to another.
Four legged critters everywhere. -
That would totally destroy the game. Who'd go off and be a superhero or supervillain if they had common sense? What's needed is a love of flashy outfits, explosions, unnecessarily complicated plans, and the firm belief that violence can solve all problems.

Trip Mines are good, Time Bomb is to be skipped.
Fine. Traps is rather bursty in terms of power usage; you throw out a bunch of gadgets, then spend some time blasting, then throw out more gadgets.
My Tech Origin Beam/Storm is pretty fun, and thematically Beam/ can make for a good "lightning gun", while the storm effects can be from weather control machines. She was fairly painful to solo to 16 and Freezing Rain, but is fine now though. -

Probably the Dark Affinity power Soul Absorption; I've confused the two once or twice myself since Dark Affinity and Dark Assault are both /Dark secondaries that came out at the same time.
-
I have a SS/Elec bot whose powers are Science; he was made that way. I've a Bots/Traps who is Tech Origin; it's his bots and devices that let him do what he does, not built in powers. And I have Steel Mage who is a Magic Origin robotic wizard (he's an illegal, modified copy of Tin Mage).
-
Although...I have a Praetorian Demon/Traps whose powers are Science origin. He delved so deeply into the laws of physics that he discovered how to "manipulate transdimensional forces by audio and somatic patterns" and open portals to other universes with "hostile but useful entities". In other words he independently discovered demon summoning by figuring out how the laws of physics allow you to call demons by waving your hands and chanting; being Praetorian he didn't realize that however.

Either blatantly magical-looking powers (with runes and whatnot) or staff-based ranged powers using the customizable staff skins. Possibly part of a set of Origin based power pools, so there'd also be a Tech/Gadget pool, a Science (Experiment?) pool, and so on for all four origins.

Kinetics would be a pretty poor set on MMs; pets are unaffected by +Recharge, and Kinetics doesn't have many tools for keeping them alive. I'd much rather they proliferated /Cold or /Rad. If they do give MMs /Kin I hope they modify it fairly heavily so it can actually be useful on the AT.

Well, it has had the opposite effect for me; I've simply stopped respeccing nearly as much as I used to. I've several characters that I'd like to change, but I'm going to simply live with their defects indefinitely. Which also means fewer IOs on the market, since I'm either leaving them in place or destroying them with a replacement, instead of swapping them out in respecs. I have no intention of ever actually paying money for a respec.

I'm interested in what the Mech backpack will look like. We need a high-tech backpack to round out what we have now.

Quote:Well, well, they are bringing him back. And I bet that his "army of beasts" uses the new four legged rig and aren't the old werewolves.
The powerful Arch-Villain Shadowhunter also prowls this realm with his deadly army of beasts. -
"Who am I? I'm your shoulder angel of course! Psst - eating dimensions is just wrong, you know?"

Quote:It's apparently based on some movie called Napoleon Dynamite I never heard of, not real ligers. Which is unfortunate.Seems like the nonsensical addition of a scorpion tail is a bigger problem than the too-small scale, although I too would like to see properly sized big cats. Even without the scorpion tail the liger pet doesn't look like any liger I've ever seen, but I've only seen pics on the internet.

Quote:Ligers are real animals. It's the liger. That one wasn't a joke.

Napoleon Dynamite: It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.

I have a Demons/FF in her 20s that's pretty fun; the whip attacks help avoid the main problem with FF which is the sheer boredom of sitting their doing nothing while your pets kill stuff. The same should be true of Beast I expect.

Quote:Proto Clown from the Tick.Well... there is precedent....
The Joker. The Jester 'class' of Gauntlet. The Drunken Master of 1v1 martial arts video games. Kender. Disney's Aladdin's Genie. Mr. Mxylupagus (not bothering to look it up). Impossible Man.
Arthur: "Look out! He's going to charge!"
Tick: "He's a clown! Clowns don't charge."
Proto Clown: "Graah!!" <WHAM!>
