Quote:Elec/wp, kat/sr (easy to cap), claws /invuln... All pretty easyok,
Kids sucking brains out...wife...sucking brains out...head hurts. i want a scrapper that can kick the crap outta stuff...without doing alot of number crunching brain hurting exercises. I want total butt whoopin redneck style fun that just whoops everything in site...is that asking to much?
Im tired of thinking.
Yes I know I have alt-itis. This is the last one I ask about I promise (crosses fingers) -
So 120 views and nobody has any thoughts? really?
-
How about Fire/SR? Easy and cheap to softcap with lots of DDR. Then you could grab an epic pool for more aoe dmg.
-
Building a fire fire scrapper is all about the art of compromise...more so than most other toons I have built except maybe my Warshade. I love its dramatic nature and think that is what makes it so fun. I have mine near level 40 and need to start thinking about what direction I want to take it.
After having played mine without looking at mids to level 40, I think I am pretty familiar with the powersets. My assumption is that even with IO's, it is still going to be kill first or be killed powerset but to a lesser degree. I could go for capping S/L but that would come at the expense of most everything else- Hardly seems worth it. Instead, I am thinking it is best to try to enhance its strengths and shore up some of the weaknesses without building a lopsided toon.
My preliminary goals for my PVE build-
1. S/L to 30%, N/E to 20%, solid resist values, some status protection
2. ++Recharge (for healing flames, consumption and my attack chain)
3. + Regen & + HP
Here is what I came up with with about an hour on mids? What can i do better?

I will let the experts chime int but will make a couple suggestions from a quick glance-
1. Post in build in the correct format (see other posts) so people can help you better.
2. Include the data chunk so we can load it into mids and see all the variables
3. I never put stealth in tanks b/c I don't want to have trouble with aggro although some will disagree. Your call. However, note that the defense you see in mids only exists until you engage in battle...then that number drops.
4. I am confused by your defense goals. Why not focus on typed defense vs. Positional. This may explain why you wasted so many slots on teleport and team teleport. BOTz are positional. Also same for Touch of Death vs. Kinetic Combats, Guassins vs rectified reticle. I think if you shore this up you can move your slots to better places.
5. If I wanted more defense, I would go with maneuvers and also get as assault....but thats me.
6. I am sure I could offer better thoughts with a build but thats a couple of glaring things. I am curious about your resist values too.

Quote:Well finished version 1.0 of build with IOs. I have 20-23% defense to all positions. 10% status protection to stuns and etc... 96% global recharge, perma eclipse, near perma hasten and mire. However in real world applications it is perma b/c my +recharge procs fire off enough. So far I love it and only had to really mule one power. Instead of slotting gravimetric snare with damage, I used enfeebled operations for the tastey bonuses. The good news is that I do like gravimetric snare as a mag 3 hold...especially now that it lasts 30 seconds lol and recharges in 1 sec.those are some great def numbers.
mine are not that high, but i sacrificed for recharge and recovery
Anyway, I have run a few TFs with the build and it is perfect for me. I want to play it a few more mishes before I share it. -
Quote:That would be great. Having played this build extensively with only regular IOs at the moment (at level 49), I do think getting some ranged and melee defense would really be nice. If I could keep my global recharge up, perma eclipse and get melee def near 30% and ranged in the 20's%...that might really be a nice indestructable build. I took my old builds down b/c that is what I am working out at the moment. I have found ways to get the def up but am running into slotting issues as you can imagine.I shall once I get my new computer (a few days).
I'm currently on a mac and as such cant use mids.
I'll be getting mids in a few days and be happy to post my build.
Thanks again. -
Quote:Do post your build then. I would love to see it. TY.Once I get mids i'll post a little more on this topic, but imho your recharge times are both waaaay too low. 87% will be enough to give you perma-eclipse, but a humanformer can get perma-hasten and near perma-mire if you work at it hard enough.
Also please include defense numbers.
Resistance does not mean much from sets... its the defenses that count. -

Exactly my thinking. I just flinched when I thought my two beloved secondaries were getting nerfed. I can understand sheild charge...but Invuln no way! The individuals that mentioned it quoted Castle but I have not been able to find any such comment.
I hope as all 3 poster mentioned that it is BS. -
I have been hearing some broadcast chatter about shield charge getting nerfed. However, this past weekend I heard that invulnerability may be getting nerfed too.
Does anyone have any info or links to info on this topic? -
Question- Not an exploit, but I am a reasonably fast farmer and able to get 1500 tickets (ticket cap for 1 run) with my fire/rad or fire/kin in about 15-20 mins by doing solo runs. That ticket average drops like a lead weight when I add even 1 person to my team.
Are there better ticket farms? If somebody could respond or PM me I would appreciate it. -
Okay so made version 2.0.
My global recharge outside hasten is now 86% but it took slotting stygian circle with 5 doctored wounds to get it but I was able to find the slots without much cost. Also, I have 3 +recharge procs so I think I have a nice real world margin of time to keep eclipse permanant when I need it. Presently it shows my Eclipse recharges in 85 seconds without the Procs firing off.
Regarding KB and added slot for resist. I had to put something in those 3 shields and i figured 12 KB made more sense than added resist since I aimed for perma eclipse. I tinkered around with slotting on other powers too and even found a slot for Kismet +6% to hit IO.
Take a look and tell me what you think. If there is a way I missed to get the global recharge up without placing 5 doctored wounds let me know. The only other option I could think of was to adding dark detonation with 5 positrons blast instead of my fire/cold/toxic shield...not sure I like the KB from that power.
Thanks

Wow- that was really helpful. You have given me some specific things I can take a look at. I will post an updated build later today. Thank you!

Hi All,
I have been hording purples and saving merits to outfit a Kheldian so not worrried about the cost of the build. I rolled this WS about a month ago and have refused to look at mids until I got him into the 30s and I had chance to get to know the powers. Surprisingly I am familiar with most of them from use of Dark Melee and so on...He is lvl 30 now exactly btw.
In any event, I have learned a great deal about my Kheld and hope to have a fun one soon. I know general requests for help get you pointed to the guides. I would rather somebody give me specific feedback. I did this mids build quickly to get the feedback more specific rather than general. Take a look and tell me what you think.
Edit- build finalized. Old draft removed. -

Quote:If you really, really want to gain even more appreciation for a Fire/Rad, run a team of them. A team of Fire/Rads is sickly overpowered. Stacked AM putting the team at damage cap, Recovery cap, Recharge cap, and with stacked Choking Cloud and Hot Feet. A ton of speed capped/damage capped Fire Imps acting like Locusts. Alternating Flashfire+Fire cages in pairs will stun everything in sight and hold it in place. If the team stays together, everything melts in no time. This is the fastest, most overpowering team in the game.
Oh I am down for that! I know they run those teams some times but I have not been lucky to be able to play on one yet. This toon is on freedom so I will have to look for one. -
Hi All,
Some observations on my first fire/rad. I have completed several TFs, AV arcs and am now in the mid 40s. This toon has leveled really fast because it is easy to find a team with it and I find you can play some really difficult content with the debuffs.
I have a few 50 Trollers including a couple of F/Ks and this combo is just as fun. The only funny thing I have noted is that people ooh and ahh when you drop Fulcrum Shift as a /kinetic, but the vast majority of people you play with have little appreciation of what the major debuffs a /rad can do. Not that it matters, I just find it funny to observe as I play this toon. Little do they know lol.
The other thing I have noticed is that power choices are somewhat different on the secondary /rad than my 50 ill/rad. I never take choking cloud on my ill/rads but it is a dream to run with hotfeet. flashfire, debuff, then run in with choking cloud and hotfeet (maybe firecages for added damage) and watch a mob literally melt faster than it would with a F/K.
Anyway...loving it. Cheers to all Fire/Rads out there!

Hey its a fun combo. I would suggest looking at some of the guides and playing the toon (off a farm...no powerleveling) to figure out your playstyle. This is one AT that has so much written on it that you may not get a response...Good luck and have fun.

Hi All,
I wanted a non-cookie cutter AT combo troller... I have plenty of those. So far, I think this could be quite a versatile team toon. I expect solo work might be a bit slow but on teams this toon seems like a champ.
Anyone have a high level mind/sonic troller? Care to share perspective?
