  1. Cant remember if its Dominate or Blind that does only check on Psy Defense.

  3. My point is:
1- If you need the defense Empathy is better.
2- AP can reivialise a tricky situation, no MM or Corr primary can.
  4. Shield can also cap DDR with a ton a better utilities.
Tho, SR is very one on stalkers because you dont have to focus on getting def caped and can only go for more recharge, procs, damage.
  5. 1- Controllers cant be pain. Illusion is godly for a bot.
2- Defenders cant be pain. If you only care about buffs Defenders are the best.
3- Corruptors are strictly inferior as bot, the hybrid nature of corruptors make them a very active AT.
4- MM could be good with a very passive secondary but after a certain level of difficulty keeping pets alive requires very tight management.
5- As for buffs stricly speaking. I think Pain would be better to support a def focused melee toon and Emp for a resist focused melee set. Overall Pain is more damage.
  6. If you play solo+bot nothing beats Ill/Emp

Adrenaline Rush + Fortitude gives you everything you'll ever need and PA let you through pretty much any kind of problems. Only other match imo is Ill/Cold because of -rege -special but empathy is so very better on anything that is not high regen AV.
  7. So I'v been playing my brute lately with both CoF and OG.

    Cloack of Fear
    Pro:
    - It works incredibly good with an Illution troller poping Spectral Terror
    - It debuffs tohit (and can recieve niffy accurate tohit debuff sets)
    - It accually works quite nice with Oppressive Gloom. Feared foes dont move, even stuned, they start wandering when the fear is "broken" with damage but since they cant hit back they return to "feared" state fast.

    Cons:
    - It tends to be counterproductive with Death Shroud

    Oppressive Gloom
    Pro:
    - HP loss is negligible
    - Stun is hard CC and isnt messing with Death Shroud
    - Since I am TW I really KD a lot, it really help a lot with the "wandering" stunned foes.
    - It can carry purple sets but also works good without any slots (light endo)

    Cons:
    - Without any kind of snare/root the scatter can be annoying, mostly on high speed mobs like Council wolves or Speed drained Tsoos.

Surprisingly after 50 level of Dark Armor I am not asking myself if I should pick one or the other but if I should pick both or none, not sure I'm anywhere close to a decision...
  8. Nightchill_EU

    My 4th slot

What is +to hit worth compared to +Accuracy?

For exemple, is Kismet unique better than a 4th LotG in a defense power or is it just a 3% waste?
  9. I dont understand why almost no scrapper/brute/tanker take it? Im absolutely new to Dark Armor but it "seems" to me that stun is a more reliable CC than terrorise and the hp loss doesnt seem so great. What have I missed?
  10. Nightchill_EU

    So TW/DA

Yeah we end up with something quite close but my interrogations really on the close details of procs and utilities.
  11. Nightchill_EU

    So TW/DA

After having both at 40ies Im finally going for DA over ElA. I ended up with that idea:

I am still very unsure about KC in FT + recharge proc (could put more accu and rec or end) and Purple x5 in RA or Purple x5 in FT and KC + Achile Heel in RA.

Mind that it has only Agility sloted as incarnate, other obvious should be Ageless.
  12. I fail to realise what is the real impact of procs on overall DPS.

1- Is a proc (what proc? Purple?) better than a damage enhencement?
Does it depends on what attack it is slotted?

2- If not, how gimped is my attack if I only use 5 slots and no proc or if I build around global bonuses and save slots?

3- Are -res proc better than damage procs? Are Psy procs better than Lethal procs? Why?

Which would be also very good for anything else, probably even more for a weaker AoE set like DM?

Pull and Herd with Darkest Night? Also "some" mobs will actually last longer than 2 AoEs.

btw how do you overcome endo drain as TW/DA? I mean like Arachnos heavy Mu or Freakshows?

I'v red earlier that brutes are better than Scraps for TW/-, I understand why for Elec (higher res cap), I still dont get why for DA.
  16. Nightchill_EU

    Tw/ ?..

Seriously? No Follow Through? There's something I'm missing in the TW mecanism I guess.
  17. Sorry to disturb, why would the power benefit more to SS?
  18. Nightchill_EU

    Tw/ ?..

My main issue on Dark is that its pretty much impossible to run or even pick Darkest Night and I have the feeling ElA or WP WITH Darkest Night would be tougher than Dark Armor without.
  19. Nightchill_EU

    Tw/ ?..

    About the TW/DarkArmor.
I cannot judge without playing it but I have the slight feeling that this build wouldnt be solo sustainable even with T4 Ageless (mostly on the sacond half of the duration) without buff. Of course I cannot see the impatc of x3 perf shifter procs.

When missioning and traveleing packs to packs it should be ok, but dont you end up with troubles on high melee uptime fights?

I also wonder what is the real impact of damage procs and, moreover, of -res procs. TW has plenty of attacks to carry Achile's Heel. Your build has very few damage proc, how much do they imact overall DPS?

I'v been toying around and had this (disclaimer: I still think your build is better!)

    About the Elec build:
Is it THAT important to focus on end cost (both attack slotting and EPP) if you reach perma Energized?

I have the feeling Darkest Night + Agility would be better than Energy + Spiritual.

Do you think you benefit more of End more IOs than Proc shifter in passive End toys?

The build is already quite expensive (Glad +def pretty much already cost more than the whole rest), maybe you can have use of some Hamies and Purp up at least one of the Oblit sets.

    Personally I'v been thinking of

  21. Sorry for the so few details.
Its not for PvP at all, its for general PvE.

What seems to be strong in ElA is end management and innate haste. BUT it has the Toxic hole.

Dark on the other hand has amazing heal, crowd control mitigation and starts with a little defense. It also doesnt have resist hole. The main trick would probably be endurance (and TW is pretty heavy already).

Of course I could just go for Ageless but Ageless also means no Barrier or no Rebirth. Would Ageless Dark be tougher than Rebirth ElA? I'm unsure.
  22. TW:
    - Elec Armor
    - Dark Armor

    ?
  23. I dont really get it. Lets say I'm an Earth troller.

I cast Stone Cages (AoE Immob) on a pack, it does damage so I have a chance to proc Immob or Fear... right?
If I cast it again while they are immobilised, I have 100% chances to stun them? It sounds too good.

But it is much, MUCH better on brutes.

I have multiple inv scraps, and my inv brute is...better. A lot.
    Genuine question: why?

I have the feeling FA and ElA are better because of the self 90% res but Invul hardly goes passed 70%. Scrappers dont lose anything due the class design on Invul, do they?

As for the topic, I have a slight feeling that Invul may also perform good on accucary hungry sets like TW (most likely running Cardiac or/and Ageless).

However sad it is, you are right. But Dark Armor doesnt come with "minimal effect".

She can. I asked her she said she doesnt want to melee and is not interested in damaging in general. But that left a lot to deal with.

    I tend to play a plant/dark controller.
Thats what we ended up with. Shadow Fall and Fade puts you to nearly 40% Psy res and Seeds pretty much covers anything that isnt boss/AV (this power is... I dont know, amazing? Broken?).
