    The Boot Myth

I have never been kicked because of my build despite the fact that like the OP I take powers for the concept I have.

I run teams all the time on Defiant and I've never kicked anyone for their power choices/slotting, however that being said perhaps it's reflective of the player numbers as often the teams can be a little unbalanced due to the available AT's online. In fact recently I invited a player to my team of 5 who said "woah huge team!"

For me it's about having fun and not just steamrollering through enemies.
  3. The EU continues to have Superior Invisibility toggled on....sigh

I wasn't suggesting more servers...just give us more slots - it's only fair.

If like Minotaur above players have moved stateside to get more alts (something that I once considered and I know players that have), then this disadvantage doesn't help our population in any way.

Just to illustrate the point, when you first join the game each server comes with 12 slots. Based on English speaking servers that's 24 slots for the EU and 132 for NA. I have paid out for 20 extra slots (at a cost of about £25), yet despite that I'm still 88 slots behind those that our American friends get for free.
  8. Would be great! I'm not a fun of the glowing feet, so this would need to get rid of that. Some sort of motion blur would be awesome but not easy I'm guessing.

  9. Nice work, I'd love it if you had a go at my main:

Another factor to consider is character slots, both english speaking servers are full for me and I've bought extra slots in the past, where as NA players have 11 servers and therefore tons more potential alts. Yet I pay the same subscription rate, how is this fair in any shape or form? Yes I love my alts.

Most MMO gamers in the EU are very net savvy and comfortable purchasing/downloading online. So NCsoft sells online because that is how more and more people are buying games, and we do get most of our new players from online distribution. War Witch

I can see the logic in this however it still doesn't help our population (or get you more subscribers), can you tell us if an online advertising campaign for the EU is going to happen, perhaps on a few key European sites?

Also as the expansion for us is a digital download only, is there any way it can be sold on retail sites such as Amazon and Play over here, as I feel that would surely raise awareness.

    You can quote me

I want a villain who says things like this:

    "Thou burly-boned bat-fowling clotpole!"

    "Thou bootless swag-bellied hugger-mugger!"

"Were I like thee I'd throw away myself."

    Yes I love this site - http://www.pangloss.com/seidel/Shaker/index.html?

Patently I need to find out whether she's single or not before wooing can commence!

Any advice appreciated. I also eat lunch here, so I have to be able to keep going there if the wooing plan fails.*

    She's European, btw.

Talk to her, if she rejects your advances - just use confuse, that should work for a while

    Noooooooo!

To be fair, if you read my post I wasn't suggesting a mission fail in the true sense. I merely suggested it might be interesting to have some different spins on missions. Meaning that well written missions/arcs could perhaps add some sense of drama.
  16. Night_Hornet

    Noooooooo!

“Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.”

I was thinking...I want more grief, I want unhappy endings.

All the best superheroes/villains are born out of tragedy and misfortune, what if the game offered some more of this. What I’d like to see is more missions that you fail at, and not just being kicked out of the map. After all winning all the time is boring right? I know the game has a few elements of this but I’d love to see more, all the best characters are fallible after all.

Simply make specific arcs/missions which are set up to end in failure and script them in such a way where heroes can feel a sense of injustice and likewise villains feel a sense of justice. This could be done in many ways without any real major game changes other than making new arcs, I’m not suggesting multiple endings or anything.

    For example:

Arcs/missions could feature escorts or allies that you simply cannot save at the end (no this doesn’t have to mean death, perhaps the npc is lost forever or turns into a villain/hero), perhaps stories could be a NPC is your No1 fan/ex team-mate or perhaps a wanna be sidekick but importantly your hero/team will fail to save them at the end (of course normal mission xp etc will still apply). Villain missions could mean that they are double-crossed or perhaps...dare I say it, do something good by mistake. Perhaps subsequent arcs/missions could follow some of this up with badges or some reward if you finally avenge or get revenge!. There are a so many ways that you could go with this.

It could even go further as perhaps at mission exit your toon gets a temporally debuff (due to the emotional distress), or perhaps a tough ambush awaits them due to the perceived crossing of the line – “there’s Night Hornet, get him”

NPC chatter could help set the mood, along the lines of “leave Night Hornet alone he’s had a bad day” etc.

Of course some of this could be done in MA, but being out there in the game world - now that would be good. Maybe...just maybe there’s some of this in GR?
  17. Mutant would be the next one logically.

There is already a Mini Booster: Temporary 30 Day Jetpack BTW.
  18. I'd love to go but seeing as it's 6497 miles away, sadly I won't be able to make it...

Funny that and there was me thinking it was just people who care about the game...
  21. Im my opinion without a boxed edition or any advertising the EU polulation will continue to decline or at best remain stable.

GR we are told is a major expansion and yet I wonder if anyone other than current players in the EU will be aware of it...

I'm personally not bothered about having a box, however having people to team with that's another matter.
  22. Based on the sexy water effects it looks like it could be, but as said above it may not have been wise to post it.

    Want it now though!
