Quote:+1 Which is why I have little respect for alcoholics, chain smokers (or any form of tobacco addict), and drug addicts. How you get repeat customers. People who use pills to cope with everything in life. As Calisto on Xena said, "I like to live life in it's full agonizing glory." Otherwise just seems you'd end up dependent on emotional painkillers.
Anyone smell the Eugenics Wars coming? Maybe about 20-30 years late, but still with all this talk about using science and medicine to genetically "enhance" humanity lately.... -
Nice to see a Beetleborgs reference, lol.
-
Yes, let's remove possibly the number one thing that stops a lot of people (though not all obviously) from doing a lot of very stupid things.....

I've always heard good things about MHC, and actually ordered a comic from them over ebay recently. They are VERY fast in getting those comics to you.

Went with a friend and her family while she took her daughter T&Ting. Was fun, went as Captain Adam *scrambled* of the starship Endeavour.
I'd like go as myself (points to avatar) one of these days if I can get all the materials together. -
I haven't seriously watched a Transformers series since Beast Machines. Looks like one more I probably won't watch.
On another note, I don't know why people are comparing Beast Wars CGI to TF: Prime's CGI. We're talking about an almost 15 year gap between the two, I'm quite certain CGI tech has improved a lot in that time...
*EDIT* Holy ****, it's really been that long!? O.O -
Howdy neighbor.
And I've never even heard of the place. Hmm... -
The last time I seriously touched my Xbox was when Reach came out. Jumped on to watch a DVD or two, and ran a quick race on Forza cause my buddy hates PC gaming, but other than that I spend all my time on PC. The games are better, and I much prefer a $500 system I can upgrade over time than a $500 one that'll only last a few years until the latest, greatest $700 replacement comes out.
As soon as I get a 360 controller for my PC, I'll have very little reason to keep my console or buy the "720" when it comes out. Since most 360 games that have piqued my interest are also available on PC. Those same games tend not to stress my computer nearly as much as they do my 360. -
I'm all for Welling continuing his role as Superman. I could see Hamm as well, but he looks a bit old if this is supposed to be a re-launch.

I believe he's said before that the only part of Star Wars that's canon to him is the movies, and that he's yet to read any of the books.

Quote:Get a truck and you won't have that problem. That brings me to one of my peeves I've just got to deal with and that is; trucks, suvs, cuvs, and minivans (cuvs and minivans to a lesser extent). When I'm driving I tend to look as far down the road as I can and that includes looking through the vehicle in front of me (no, I couldn't give a damn less that your picking your nose and your signnificant other is resting thier head in your lap) I'm more interested in planning to rather reacting to traffic and the problem with big o'l esseuvees and big ol'honk'n pick-up trucks are that they block your view and ytou have to slack off so that you can plan rather than react and this again leads to numbskulls jumping in your space.

Quote:Change that to Schertz, TX and that's my situation. My friends have been getting all excited about Jack@$$ 3D. I told them I wasn't going to waste money and time on that when I can stand on 3009 (a road here) and see a bunch of jack@$$es in 3D for free.I've just come to the conclusion that with the exception of me, no one in north Florida can drive right.
There are too many things on the road that I hate to list here, but slow drivers and people who tap their brakes constantly going 5 under with no one in front of them top the list. Oh and already slow people thinking they have to stop because they see a cop sitting on the side of the road. -
Quote:ROFL, that was great.I still prefer this version.

Not surprising. There's always going to be doubt in this area. I'm sure there are going to be those who doubt until they're on a space ship floating above the planet. We still have people wearing tinfoil hats claiming we never landed on the moon.
Btw, on the self-hating topic, take a look at what's going on in Chile at the moment. Yes....we are such a horrible species.... -
Yeah, GT sucked. I do agree it might have been better had they done the series based on Goku Jr. Thankfully, as I understand it, Akira Toriyama doesn't even count GT as canon.

Is apparently a new NBC channel primarily for kids (so the ads say, anyway). Where I live it's the next channel after the Science Channel, so earlier today I was skimming through looking to record Sci-Fi Science, when I saw "Batman" listed on Hub. It didn't show the original air date so I'm not sure if it's TAS, The Batman, TB&TB, or what.
I later saw Batman Beyond (w00t) listed, Men In Black, and the best surprise: Transformers (G1).
Anyway, just thought I'd mention it. -

Quote:Yes. Sadly, we believe it may also be inhabited by a race of sparkly, emo, bloodsuckers. This planet would not be a good second home, in fact, I suggest we just avoid it altogether.I'm guessing that the habitable region of this planet will be called "The Twilight Zone"?

I'd been hoping for this since they started the mini-series. -
Quote:Me too.Humans must thrive and expand through the galaxy...period. I'm kinda getting sick and tired of the self hate...
I'm also getting sick of the "it's too dangerous, send robots" and "that planet is too far away, we'll never ever see it" crap as well. While those things may be true, barring the invention of time travel or advances in cryogenics, that kind of thinking isn't going to get us anywhere. Neither will the "we suck" thoughts. -
I have very little hope for humanity, but good lord people, lol. I don't believe that we should just stop what we are doing in terms of progress (especially in space) just because we have flaws that any aliens out there could also have themselves. It's going to take a long time and something cataclysmic to make us the perfect little humans we see in Star Trek.
Personally, I believe that's more reason for us to explore the stars. I can almost gurantee that the day we find out we're no longer alone in the universe will be the day humanity grows up.
Also (I'm not sure if I posted it here or not, I've discussed this same planet discovery in several other forums), this has me excited for the future of inter-system exploration. -
Again, sorry I missed this one guys. My job's an over-night job, and usually I don't work Wed night/Thurs morning, but this time I did. I didn't wake up until 10 PM my time.
