    Also, if it's not their skill, then what is it that makes the best better than others with exactly the same build? Backhanders to the GMs?

    And I'll say it once again, travel powers are the only thing that make CoX PvP fun.

    As for the whole "imbalanced" thing... what's to stop you from making exactly the same or similiar character to "the best" and then beating them if it's 95% AT and they have no skill? I would agree with this argument if people were allowed only one toon per server, but they are not. They are allowed at least 8, which in my opinion leaves room for a couple of PvP toons easily.

    You might want to PvP with your concept toon but I'm afraid just like most things in life, it doesn't work like that and it shouldn't. Certain things are better at certain jobs than others, but this does not make them worse, infact it makes it better. It adds a diversity to this game which allows for people to have multiple versions of the same AT, e.g. an ice blaster and an archery blaster, with an actual point, rather than just having different FX. Ice Blast has better single target damage/activation whereas archery has quite devastating aoe damage (albeit sometimes resisted).
    This diversification is allowed in PvE, I don't get why it shouldn't allowed in PvP.

    I'd hate it if team tactics were reduced to AT rather than powersets, as this would oversimplify team pvp and turn it more in to RPS than I would like.

    But then again most people with arrogant and uninformed views on PvP will ignore these words and simply cry out "OMG X IS OVERPOWERED BUT I WANT TO WIN IT WITH MY AR/TRAPS RP TOON AT LEVEL 12 WITH NO ENHANCEMENTS" because they got hit in the face once by someone who knows what they are doing in a PvP zone.

    Because he is one the nicest and most experianced PvPers we have.

    No, villains dont get blasters, but they dont really need them. Corruptors are awesome tbh, and in the hands of a skilled played are not easy to beat. Domis are exactly the same. Brutes and stalkers can easily kill a blaster if played well and MMs can just ruin thier day.

    The thing about this game is that it is all skill. I have seen some of the best PvPers on union come into zone on gimped builds and own, I have seen them come to fights out numbered at least 3:1 and still own. And finally I have seen Spag come in zone on a mind/fire domi and kill everything in the zone solo, thats 10+ heroes. The skill required to play PvP in this game is a lot more difficult to pick up than most realise, and even when you think you have your tactics down you can still get owned by something you werent expecting.

    The main pull of PvP in this game is the fast paced action, its whats missing from all the other MMOs. The level of supression that has been suggested is going to kill a lot of the fun for many who have PvPed since the game started. This, in my opinion will not be good for the game, I think the surpression could be handled a lot better with out slowing the game down to a crawl!

I just saw this and feel bad I havent commented now, unfortunately Im at work and cant get access to mids to check out the slotting properly, but, form what I can see there are few things I would change. Ill have a porper look at it mids when I get home, but tbh, at this point, anything that is speced up may not work as intended when i13 hits. But I will make the build with the i13 chnages in mind.
  6. FFM you really dont understand how fast paced PvP works do you? If you did, you would realise that supression, even for a second can mean death. Now I understand they are making everyone have better resistance in PvP and lowering damage so that may not be so true, but the issue is that being slowed to a snails pace, doesnt really seem fitting for a game like this. And my personal issue is not with the supression, but the amount of it! Coupled with all the other nurfs, it just seems to me that balance will shift from ranged attacks to melee!

Basically the way I see it, is this movement suppression thing is gonna be the kicker, we already have teams for stalkers tpin for multi AS, this is gonna be the same but worse, because you wont ever be able to get away from them. But if you manage to attack them, you wont ever get a kill, what with TP being the only unsurpressed travel power. IMO either find away to surpress them all or dont bother, beacuse tbh, I can see this tp thing sucking really hard!
  8. The things is, its seems to me like the balance has switched from ranged attacks to melee. As rooks said ealier, all I can see is a see of brutes, tanks, scrapper sat under the globe 1v1in'. The supression plus the -range from taunt, imo is the thing that sucks. I can see they want to try and level the playing field, but to me, its just being tipped in the other direction!

    I would like a detailed report at the end of each fight, something similar you to what can be found at the end of a game of halo. Would love to see the kill/death spread and who killed who most, how many assists, whats powers you got most of the kills with, that kinda thing. Would really help evaluate a match at the end.

  16. I see where your coming from, but tbh doubt it. I know for a fact none of my team would drop so low as to force a restart, for us this about player skill and fun. So win or lose we here to the death.

    And really, if your getting kicked that bad after 8 mins, whats the point in a restart?

    Its only worth it in an even match and you dont get a running score so cant be sure who is in the lead. So whats the point. I thought this whole thing was about getting some really good PvP going and to have fun at the same time. The fear of DCs n this rule IMO is counter to the original aims of the competition.

    S4 wasn't 20 minute matches though so maybe it does want lifting up a bit, say double it to 4 minutes.

    Well I have to disagree there, we gave the biggest kicking, infact I killed the entire team within 10 secs, they didnt have a single DC.

  19. Tbh that DC rule sucks. There are issues with the test server build and some peoples PCs, resulting in almost regular DCs. This rule has, IMO, to be looked at and rethought. I understand the DCin could be used to try an force a rematch but I dont think its fair to penalised team due to the tech.

    But in all honestly It was a very fun game, I know exactly how it feels to get beaten that badly, but I'm glad we all kept up the name of fun!

  21. Thanks alot draxion, we did indeed do a lot of prep. Even though it was a white wash, I think there are some point you did well at that you can take away. Your tanker for one had me taunted quite alot, it was just unfortunate he had no psi resistance.

    GG anyway guys, if you would like a practice session anytime I'm sure we could slow things down a little to help you get to grips with targetting, taunting, healing. Anyway if interested you can get me @Nicky.
