Im sure I got hacked then.
I did get a message about trying to change my email. No clue how they hacked me.
But I sent 3 messages due to frustration with the subject. I'll just wait now. But I hope they can do something about it.
Regardless, this spells bad news for it possibly in the long run. I still want to try it out dangit. -
If CoH survives, I promise to grind up an AR/fire blaster and not power level it once.. .

Quote:GW2 has sold out. They stopped selling digital copies of the base game. You could still get it from retailers but Arena NEt/NCSoft had to stop selling the game.
One of the reasons is it over performed estimates. That's why you are having issues with support not responding in a timely manner. I think they will be fine for a long while now.
It just looks boring to me though. Tor is too. I keep thinking stat sticks for all item drops. Enhancements were too, but made it hard, for me, to think of them that way.
I played to 12 with a defender. It looks great, don't get me wrong. What the problem is, is its a copy. Rehashed with new cool visuals. And when you copy something and make it cliche, it gets old in the long rune. Basically, I dont see the game having life longevity at all. Once you do it all, thats it. The community wont be as close as they could be,either . Its basically a solo person's game. Which CoH did the MMO thing right, these new ones are not.
Its new and exciting, so yeah its going to be sold. I mean it looks beautiful.
And the pvp is done very well as it needs skill. It will eventually end up like Guild Wars 1 did after awhile. Just my opinion of course. -
Quote:Either way this is literally bogus. Making us move to their new shiny games. I mean think about it, these games are fantasy lore only. That lone loses people. So did the super hero thing, I get that but thats bsides the point. Now with these MMOs they are basically the same thing, rehashed. Same basic principles. No customization for a fresh experience. Just a set order of things to happen, rinse, repeat. That, gets old over time. And which is why MMO's are on a decline.I'm not seeing anything about this in the press. Most things I can find are related to them trying to slow down sales while they ramp up their server capacity to handle the massive demand (apparently they hit 400,000 concurrent users on before the actual launch.
Of the people I know that are playing it, they're absolutely loving it, with no complaints at all.
As for not getting a reply... I'd figure a long holiday weekend just ending (I'm not sure if they had reduced staff for it... it'd seem fairly crazy in this situation), plus a major game having just launched, they're likely extremely swamped (every new game launches with many bugs or oddities, not to mention PEBKAC issues).
Maybe im just ranting but none of this makes sense. If they're trying to push people to their new games and expect to last years and years with continuous income, I feel they are doing this all wrong.
I see this eventually panning out to pulling out of the west. In the distant future. -
Quote:So why give up? From a business standpoint and the current fan movement of a game not entirely seen before, wouldn't that set in stone a success for CoH2?It was suggested to me that it was far enough along that had we made it into 2013, there's a pretty good chance we might have started getting teasers about it. That could still be years away from full launch though.
If they really invest all of their time and money into these fantasy MMO's, well, they will eventually just pull out of the west because of the current decline MMO's are going through. -
Well GW2 isnt off to a good start.
I bought it on launch, installed it, and played it. Got to 12.
Next day my email isnt recognized. I have been waiting 3 days for a reply. Its tuesday now. Nothing. I've sent 4 support questions and still nothing. Last one I told them about giving my a full refund so I'll have to wait and see what they say to that.
GW2 is also not doing as hot as they planned. I feel like they will lose money and definitely fan base over this whole ordeal. Lots of issues going on that i've read.
So if you wanted to focus your future on games that are failing, by my guest.
Some people don't learn unless they fall. -
I've been saying 2012 is just a time frame of change
And lots of change is going on
Aye... I take it all back now.
Tony, you're doing a great thing man. I respect ya greatly. -
Quote:Hell yeah you can!
You suck so bad.
I don't know, but I pointed this out and the brain trust will work on it.
Also, I really appreciate all of your kind words and support, and I'll never turn down a compliment. But can I get a "HELL YEAH!!!" for Guy Perfect and Codewalker? I'm not kidding, pour on the love. These guys (Guy Perfect for this particular utility) are geniuses working 14 to 18 hours per day way beyond any crazy skill level I've ever seen before right now. They're both paranoid headcases and won't give me their addresses or else I'd post them so that you could shower them with stuff. You know, maybe a measure of paranoia isn't a bad thing in their cases...
Thanks for the work guys. I wish I could be of more use than just a guy to spread the word and offer funds.
I am not touching my characters. Just give the word on the tool being uploaded.
What people don't know much about is the fact City of Heroes is now going underground.
Could possibly make video game history as well. -
Quote:[union roleplayers]@tyrannical: Still, let's all just hope -somebody- buys coh, and hopefully valve
[union roleplayers]kiiierkitty: Ncsoft won't sell it
[union roleplayers]kiiierkitty: It's not going to happen, the only way is people make a new server or a new game with the same 3d files etc
[union roleplayers]lightning blast eu: That would be highly stupid. They are in debt
[union roleplayers]kiiierkitty: They would sooner die than give up face
[union roleplayers]@katrianna: Huh?
[union roleplayers]kiiierkitty: Google why ncsoft doesn't sell off it's failures
[union roleplayers]kiiierkitty: Article from 2009
[union roleplayers]you were silenced in channel 'union roleplayers' by @night.
Scumbags would sooner see the game die than admit they are wrong...

Quote:It's Corporate greed.I didn't miss his point. I'm trying to put this in perspective. This is very very bad. Nobody's winning here and some very good people have lost their jobs.
BUT... and my point remains - we had many more years of pleasure than we might have because at one point NCSoft stood up and did the right thing.
That doesn't excuse how they are behaving now but it does take out the "Oh noes, NCSoft is ebil" line.
Of course it's evil. -
CoH cant go down like this.
It started the super hero MMO. Those knockoffs arent even up to par with it.
Please, NCSoft, don't make the world about fantasy lore only. -
Quote:Hahaha I called that. I called you were going to post some. You and your damn notepad.[Broadcast] Gimpology: cover, you lasted longer than markin's mom
[Broadcast] Gimpology: but you still died XD
[Arena] Boomba Rass Clart: hybrid is the dumbest stupidest thing since frost markins in a kb with an ice blaster
[Arena] SupremeNY: frost markins please stop talking as if you were once upon a time good!
[Arena] Cover -Girl: FINE lets duel Markins! Pick the *** graveyard map so you can spawn your mom.
some of my favorite Frost Markins memories <3
The only good trash talkers in the game were tribute and such. Everybody else just flat out sucks. Using the same stuff repeating and not able to conjure up anything original.
I'm going to miss those dimwits.
Also, what server did you decide on for GW2? I still am having issues logging in. Some how it says my email is not attached to my account but on my registeration it says it is. So GW2 just got 1 strike already from me. One night I got to lvl 12, the next I couldn't log in.
This is so stupid. I hate fantasy but I got nothing much else to do at 10 pm at night when I get home from work. -
This really does feel like the end of high school all over again where its the last time you see your friends before they go off to different colleges.
I will miss this game a lot. It has been a big part of my life growing up. I've met some awesome people along the way and have many of memories.
Freedom was always my server since day 1 when I got the game and created Frost Markins, an Ice/Ice blaster. From there spawned Next Spirit, my peacebringer. Both of these characters had a bit of my personality put into. From that, I felt a connection to them. And on August 30th, a part of my childhood dies. Fade out to black.
We can only hope this phoenix will rise from the ashes in its full glory to reign supreme once again. Till then i'll be on the fighting side.
Thank you to everybody who I have met, teamed with, pwned, got pwned by, power leveled, got farmed by, gave me advice when I was in a low spot, and everybody that simple lent a ear for me to speak my mind where I would have no other place to do so.
It was a great ride. I'll never miss all the hami raids I was a part of or lead back in 2005 and 2006. I'll never forget the first time pvp got introduced to the game. We all rushed to the test server and became to pew pew at eachother, kick back, and have a very great time.
The devs did a great job with COH Freedom. You guys were pretty down to earth. Many thanks for your work.
Good bye Freedom. You were my second home and never will be replaced. There will always be that CoH void for me. And if you see Next Spirit in any game in the future, you know who that is.
GG
- Next Spirit
PS - I'm not really a sensitive type. This out of nowhere action made me really look at the past. Im gonna miss this stupid game. -
I to, will help with a business plan if need be.
Anything to keep this alive. And to make is successful. -
Well. They wont get those 60k. They'll be lucky to get a quarter of them, which is still a significant amount. The reason being the fact they pulled this out of nowhere So they could push us into their new games. Not everybody is a sheep.
Thus beginning the decline of their other games. -
Next Spirit will be on top of the atlas globe flying with his arms cross and eyes flaming showing power
Too bad I never got ahold of the celestial armor pack -
I just have a hard time trying to find the logic in all of this.
Regardless, if the rights do get sold, it might be possible to keep some stuff.
You know that demoplayer editor program whatever for coh? Well I forget what its called but you can code it so it would look like the game is doing what you told it to do. Back engineer that. -
Quote:No, this is strictly business.Dammit, I'm doing it again. Trying to educate the financially illiterate. I'm out, please resume incomprehensible conspiracy theories.
You have 2 points to the balance system.
A left and a right.
Comic and Fantasy
When you eliminate one side it begins to tip and thus is unbalanced. It's all downhill from there.
Without the comic MMO what is there? DCUO and CO dont make that much revenue to be a huge money maker. CoH has that potential being the first to kick off the MMO balancing for comsumers.
It's all about the people. That's the issue with the Corporate World. It's all about the money. And with money comes greed. And with greed comes consequences over time.
Their consequence will be a dying fan base and lack of interest. -
Loss over time. They will have to keep trying new things to get going. I honestly feel the MMO world is on a great decline. This just bruises it more.
-
Quote:Sorry, I was under the impression NCSoft pulled the plug."Reality check on aisle two, we need a reality check."
CoH has very little to do with NCSoft's bottom line. And yeah, they lost some goodwill. But honestly, I'd be shocked if the number of people who will actually boycott NCSoft reaches 5 digits.
It's not boycotting in actuality. Its the idea that no other game will offer what CoH does for people. It's all the same ole ****, again.
Which gets stale after awhile. I am predicting a loss of a lot of money.
