  1. Sometimes you can easily survive a challenge but have a hard time beating it down. It is then a matter of patience.

    Sometimes you can easily beat something down with a big IF you can survive it.

    The latter is what counts as being fun to me.

    One character can stack taunt using different powers. Taunt compels npcs to attack that character. It can't stack with other characters as an npc can't be compelled to attack other characters at the same time. Either the threat of one character outweighs another or it don't, unlike with holds. 2 holds by different sources can compel an npc to be held by both holds and then stack from the same source too.

    It looks wrong what Circeus said, I remember Bridger from the forums looking at it as a good guide, knowing Bridger and his knowledge of the game I took the guide onboard. I didn't know CoD took info from files, it wouldn't surprise me now if alot of the unexplained figures that have been given have all been hacked.
  3. Best team I've been on was completely made up of scrappers and we did the first all scrapper stf. The level of cooperation in that was unbelievable by any standard and we almost Mo'd it.

    I'd team with them players no matter what they're playing.

    I got a reply from high up on the matter. CoD pulls info straight from the .def files.

    Likely that most everything is fairly accurate unless changed.

    The answer that I am looking for, therefore, would be that Circeus' guide to taunting wasn't wholly correct at the time. Either that or this is misleading:

    At the time going by CoD Blazing Aura, Icicles, Mudpots, Chilling Embrace would of all stacked with themselves.

    Believing that Circeus would of had the guide Dev checked this led to confusion because when reading the CoD I considered the possibility that the power didn't need the text to say that it didn't stack with itself.

    Edit: Even when trying to character copy onto test from other computers other than my own the character copy tool part of the forum times out. So still have yet to to see things for myself as I need to do.

    I treat Scrappers as reasonably self sufficient but what do you reckon to this?

    Also have you seen anyway where a Dev says that the taunt aura is bad due to WPs other strengths? Or where a Dev said it stacks? How did people work out it stacks? It should count as 2 powers by stacking.
  6. Do an attack chain planner inclusive of effects. You got to work out say if the endurance used to do more damage per end is going to be less than it would be without Melt Armour. I didn't like it, from a numbers perspective and thought that with a team assault might be better. Res to placate from assault is pretty nifty if you can't put too many slots in taunt.

  8. They're gonna make fitness an inherent! I wouldn't even need a respec with my pure builds and so what was situationally fun will now be more fun XD
  9. I can see how people who do not have aid self might get it.

    Extra travel flexibility might be handy too.

    I might pick up CJ, Hurl and..Handclap for bad pugs, hell if they don't want mobs tight then we can do that!

  11. Try concentrating just on smash and lethal defense. Damage types can be a mix, ie Fire/Lethal, Cold/Lethal so the lethal defense will help avoid them. The few positions/damage types you aim to softcap the easier it is.

When it comes to testing in the EU, most people give up on the prospect, lets face it, we are few and far between compared to the US and we get the call at different times so that when we do enter the test server there is almost no other bugger on or there your level. Tests can be boring and slow then.

    With the US starting before us, which I think happens, you end up behind on patches, which I think happens and half the probs you might come across seem to of already been discovered. In a nutshell I just think I'd sooner be new to any fixed versions when they come out live to save wasting a horrendous amount of time, being alone, trying to get around annoying bugs that ya just have to wonder got through the first beta when Paragon Studio employees look at it which I think happens.
  13. Crumbs when it comes to respecing I am glad I got some staminaless toons. That'll save time. I've always thought characters can get tired too quick from firing arrows or shooting a gun.
  14. Having logged into my Willpower Scrapper with leaderships instead of fitness pool I thought, bonus, running this concept would be so much easier.

    I use no rule as rule. I am read peoples builds, look at enemies powers, see how people play, determine who is going to get aggro and who isn't, seperate who actually doesn't need it from the list and apply it to those remaining.

    Often a tankmaging defender, pre emptive controller, blasters and some suicidal maniac gets the power on them and the order runs from the top of the team list to the bottom eventually. As long as I rarely have to heal I am happy.

    FF needs love

    If repulsion field didnt cost more end for each foe in pve I'd be happy. I got two bubblers neither of which have the power but as the rest of FF looks alright to me I can't complain about anything else.

If I am being attacked by 16 on my own I could aoe immob them all say and then move to only have line of sight with one who will then get mullered by me, keeping that aoe there and only having LoS with one at a time will hopefully allow me to comfortably take mobs out 1 by 1 in theory. Ofc really you could use chains to help effect mobs around corners, the ones you dont have LoS too. Its a key power to me.
  18. Not reading through it just picking up the CM lasting 60 secs thing. It is meant to be 90secs. I regard this as one of the greatest powers because someone allowed to aid their own survival should be better than someone held taking knocks of which the dps is surpassing my hps (rare cos I AP). I couldn't leave it late on any character. I'd proactively use it, if necessary on a full team, 7/90 secs is np.

    Then CoD is inconclusive, powers with taunt prior to i8 are said to have taunt durations which don't stack with themselves or from the same source and yet with sets that came before i8.

    My mindset won't change with scrappers, if they charge off they charge off, I can only wish they don't find that they've been stupid and bring anything back to an already preoccupied team.

    I'd tank an STF AVs with a sodding WP scrapper (Did mention it to my french mate, be nice to be doing one with a french team) I am just interested in what the auras are currently doing and the actual thinking behind why they are the way they are.

    It's never been shot down, it just hasn't been ranked as a priority on a todo list. Didn't you say something about how the Devs would never be so stupid as to let Heroes and Villains cross over before? Or has someone just made that up and put that in their sig?
