I'm not the one with "lemon chicken in mouf" all the time "Smallz" ies!

Epic pics from Masque are epic.
Thanks so much, it makes this more fun already!
  2. Hami raids take 15-20 minutes after monster defeats, no escaping the blooms these days.
Incarnates are making a lot of the old hard content quite trivial...

    Agreed.

You can get one Alignment Merit for 50 Reward Merits = 1 Sister Psyche SF or 1 Lady Grey + 1 Renault. Redside gets rooked but that's about two hours of game time and two days of grinding alignment missions for your second Alignment Merit.

Now...you can get 3 Empyrean Merits per day, in about an hour or two depending on your team speed. Some teams just blitz the BAF and Lambda while others struggle with basic aspects. C'est la vie.

I'd wager that it will cost about 25 or so Empyrean Merits for "the good stuff" meaning PvP IOs or Purples. That's about a week of grinding trials, in which case you're probably clearing several hundred million (?) just by selling your crafted drops anyway.

    One question remains unanswered:

Why oh why won't the Devs just put the damned high-end shinies IN A STORE at a set inf price? I imagine they don't want to elminate the markets completely, or they don't want to set an actual 'cap' in prices by making, say, a Grav Anchor worth 100,000,000 or whichever. They could survey the Market and state their prices as per the EQ price, but that seems...like a little too rational and balanced for the Dev team. No offense to them, but they have taken the path of most resistance most of the time.

Good stealth, good perception, 53 kb protection (with no acrobatics), good enough recov and regen, 1700 hp, self heals, phase, 3 good range attacks and 2 good melees (of which 1 will be especially useful). I think the only thing I'm not satisfied with would be movement speeds, but those are kind of hard to figure up with DR, so I just heavily stacked runspeeds over-cap hoping it would be roughly the right amount.
Do you have the Immob? It used to be super broken on Warshades, lasting well beyond two seconds. That and Starless Step might give you mini-sandboxing in some maps,

So, we have an AV who will be pounding us that we can't attack/fight until the end? I see a lot of nerdrage coming
Sounds like a great job for Detention Field, Sonic Cage or Confuse powers, the latter which does not generate aggro.

Looking forward to the new trial, if only to gain iXP in all my slots.
  6. Their statement says you can use them to get Very Rare (?) and PvP IO recipes.

It depends what they view as a "good price". If they feel that purples going for 100,000,000 to 500,000,000 is excessive, they might make a purple be worth 5 Empyrean Merits and a PvPIO 10-15.

We'll find out soon enough I guess, seems to me just one more currency that won't make marketers or casual players happy.

    Issue 20.5 Overview:

Invention Origin Recipes: Get those Invention Origin recipes that you've always coveted! Buy Rare, Very Rare and PVP Set Invention Origin recipes that are hard to find or inconvenient to obtain.

So...gonna ballpark 10 to 15 Empyrian Merits for a purple, 30 for a PvP IO?

    Thoughts from ebil ones?
  8. Fire for sure. More damage, Fireball, etc. etc. Just a great pairing with Traps.
  9. I run +1/x5 on my Kat/Regen, though to be fair I run mostly Morality tips, preferring the Knives of Artemis or Rikti ones.

  10. Roll a Mind Control/Cold Domination and the whole world will love you.

Seriously, I tell them to read the mission text and to do some of the more important arcs like Midnighter Club and so on. Find an active SG that doesn't require prestige grinding and go with them on tasks.

Try a little of everything the game has to offer.
  11. Not in the least.

I got my namesake PLd from 44-50 so I could get an Epic AT, same with my Nin/Nin Stalker, who is now permashelved.

I've overjoyed new players get new toys at level 20, that hopefully keep them interested in the game so that they spend an extra month or two here tweaking their new shinies.

    Viva la (V)eat.
  12. My namesake is a Mind/Bubbles.

When I read allowed enhancements, I thought you HAD to have one of each kind so I had one Accuracy, one Range, one Hold, one Damage, one Endurance Mod...I never killed anything, I was so frustrated...until a friend with an account saw my toon, laughed at me and helped me out with it.

As long as we get challenging stuff to fight, I welcome the grind ahead and the additional powers.
  14. You could make a go of a Bane Spider maybe...you could use Surveillance and Executioner's Strike to hit targets pretty hard, as well as Poisonous Ray for debuffs and you have the advantage of having VEAT perception. Pretty sure Web Grenades are available somehow which are good in zones...

If you just want something to mess around in zones, try a Gravity/Trick Arrow or a Rad/Therm Corr. You can proc-gun Neutrino Bolt and Heat Exhaust is always popular (though with the + End epic, maybe not too useful?).

Maybe this is one of those actual gameplay VS numbers/mechanics deals that I would have to try out for myself. I know when I have seen bubblers since i13, if I didn't kill them after popping Aim, they were usually open to a spike from a team roaming around like a group of sharks that smelled blood.

At least VEATs aren't hit as hard with the defense DR curve as others, I may need to look at a Soldier instead of playing out a Bubbler. Thanks again for the great info.

And no, I do not miss 2-3 Forts perma MLing themselves and fighting off 12 heroes and winning
Bubblers can be a massive pain in smaller Arena maps. You get to KB people for Stalker spikes, Force Bubble detoggles non-stop but has a nice repel factor and the ranged/end drain resist isn't too bad. That's a really controlled environment though with two Empaths and a bunch of Blasters.

VEATs are nice. I just finished my Fortunata for Boot Camp,44 pts of KB protect + Indomitable Will = 54, nice range on Blasts thanks to Centrioles, Mind Link, good perception and some nice status effects. Yum.
  16. FF Def would still be good. The shields are ok and Force Bolt and Force Bubble can be a pain, PFF is always good!

At worst it's a "fun" toon.

This confirms my testing last night.
On a lark, I went into RV with my Ill/Emp Controller and fired off Tier 3 Barrier (+Def/+Res). My Res to all (with Temp Invuln on) went to 50% and my Defense was around 18-19%, noting I do have some +Defense slotted already.

Anyone else miss the days Fortunatas never got hit?

Not to get too off topic, but you have to wonder if ingame "authorities" have noticed THE GIANT FLIPPIN' ROBOTS ACCOMPANIED BY NOTABLE PRAETORIANS INVADING PARAGON!!!! One thing I've always disliked about these things is cities look the same afterwards...would be nice seeing a broken Atlas Park for a few weeks.

My point was more to how sustainable it is.
If you split three million by 15, that gives you 200,000 accounts.
Now...chances are there AREN'T 200,000 accounts. I'd gauge it at closer 110,000 to 125,000, more or less and declining. That isn't terrible by any means, but you'd have to think they can't keep all these humans employed and new content coming out for free for an indefinite period.

Maybe F2P with bonuses isn't a bad idea?
  21. Is one million US per month even enough to pay the Devs' salaries?
If I recall what TheNet said on that Ustream, they are working out of a warehouse, not offices...looks like the beloved game might be on its last legs after all.

I view pvp as a combination of build+playstyle+skill+luck, so for this challenge I want to see people get into a pvp mindset when they are building and talking about strategy.
I'd say it's more skill + build personally. There really isn't that much luck once a good team is against a good team, you either lock and drop or you don't. You either phase and pop greens or you don't.

As to your questions above, don't think the KB powers DR themselves (much) if at all. I know my Mind/Cold's Levitate is around 30ish + and it doesn't decrease all that much in PvP, but since 41 points of KB is DRd to around 10.7 in a zone/Arena, Levitate probably drops to 9-11?

For the movement speeds, I remember them saying in I13 Beta that they wanted powers to be close to Sprint + while under TS, but it's been awhile and those forums are long gone...

For Defense, pretty sure you have lower Defense in PvP to start with (that changed around I6 if I recall) and you get crushed by DR pretty badly. I know my SO slotted SR goes to 23% or so Defense in RV (actually let me load the client dum dee dum...)

Ok so my admittedly not well-slotted Spine SR has +99% enhancement to jump speed from basic IOs and 30% Defense Range/Melee/AoE from Red Fortunes and Gifts of the Ancients...

    ...Entering Warburg...

    23% to same Defense values
    71.30 mph from 14.32 base, 22.81 Hurdle, 62.07 SJ, and 3 x 0.72 movement bonus...

    Outside in Kings Row...

    78.18 mph Jumping from 14.32 base, 24.37 hurdle, 70.98 SJ and 3 x 0.72 movement bonus...
  23. NM. Poor form on my part and very unreasonable.

All the best on your channel Mrs. P!
  24. Just wanted to apologize for not coming back for mentoring last night; lost conn around 10 PM and never got it back...hopefully will be better next week.
  25. Getting access to the Euro servers is like getting 48 extra slots, so awesome.
