Darn skippy. If it doesnt scare you, you arent ready yet for kids. Fear is natural once you realize just how intensive kid care is.

The worst thing about kids is that they can bring you to the lowest low and the highest high in a really short time frame. Emotional rollercoaster. And when you get more than one, they can tag-team and either make the lows lower or the highs higher, and sometimes they take turns on each end balancing each other's actions out. Go in with an open mind, do your time, and dont get too attached to them cause they'll be gone before ya know it. Until they hit 18 remember you are the adult/parent first and thier friend second. Dont screw that one up (we dont need more whiny/emo/angst-ridden Gen Y'rs).

And yeah Ill get bathed in naptha for this, but step-parenting sucks. Big time. Especially when they get older. Im yet to meet someone in person that has happy things to say about it. You had better REALLY love your spouce if he/she has kids already. Just a friendly warning from some who is there now.

Its not so much a factor of time (check state laws on statute of limitations for civil cases) but more a factor of proof. Only documented procedures, injuries, etc are usually accepted for these sorts of cases, so unless there is a good deal of documention about what went down and why (there may have been a legitimate reason for not using the forceps) you would be high and dry. A lot of this would depend on what got stuck and where. Usually its the shoulders that get stuck and the tongs are used to gently pull the head, but if its the head that gets stuck, the tongs are useless because they cannot get around the head in the first place. Forcing them runs a high risk of injury to both mother and child, and thus hands are used as best as possible since it is a very serious condition that needs to be remedied fast.

You can always schedule an initial consultation with a personal injury law firm to get an assessment on your case as they would better be able to advise you based on the laws of your locality. (Initial consultations are sometimes free and usually (if not free) fairly cheap compared to immediately opening a case file.)

Without some physical therapy... yes. Is it healthy.. no. He really needs to be extending and stretching that arm to regain 100% mobility with it. There is the rare possibility that there is some residual damage that prevents him from extending it fully (neither of my elbows lock out, but they have always been that way). But likely those muscles got "comfortable" in the cast and it takes some work to stretch them back to where they should be (im guessing its the bicep thats stuff and causing the extra resistance).

Well thats your loss then because lots and i mean lots of TFs get formed on BMT. Yeah lots of idle chatter in there, but it does serve its purpose well.
