  1. My first villain is a bot/poison with all badges up to ish 20 and is a Tier 4 Alpha (starting to work the new slots).

A splash AOE affect to Envenom and Weaken would be great. Neurotoxix breath is fine.

Why does a POISON set have a resurrection power? Doesn't poison KILL? Replace this.

Poison Trap is a sleep gas, not a poison gas like the traps set. However it seems that this was migrated to the Noxious gas power. If BOTH the Nox Gas and Poison trap were poisonous then Poison may become a bit overamped. So does Poison Trap become the same as the Traps set and Nox gas get changed/nerfed? Or does Poison Trap get changed to something else?

Now for the big question: which is worse for griefing: the new Mo badges from the Trials/Apex/Tin......or the Zero Death Mo badges?

On a Mo STF run the other month and some blaster in the last mission who WAS cooperating/behaving up until the last mission began to argue that the flyer had already respawned despite the fact that the leader and I were tracking spawn times and knew that it had a few minutes left. The leader tells the person to settle down after wasting time arguing with us like some stupid troll. The AV's were neutralized at this point, the flyer respawns upon which other teammates rubbed that fact in the troll's face. We all then shoot down the flyer. The leader gives the Relcuse attack plan and as some keep Recluse occupied and the rest start attacking the red tower, the troll proceeds to park their alt RIGHT WHERE the Flyer will spawn and thus instantly see them and attack them, proceeds to set their alt to a dance emote and that they must then go AFK but that we shouldn't worry because they were "leet" had "uber defense slotted" and that they would be fine. Not to mention also the fact that if Recluse got free of the taunt aggro and locked in on them that they would be fried.

Well needless to say, no one on the team took a shine to this bout of extreme stupidity and the person was immediately BOOTED from the team. They then begin to pout to us in chat and on the server channels. The rest of us polished are shiny new MoSTF badge and set to ignore the troll.

So....which MO badge is worse to grief?

At first I thought, "Why does she need three costumes?" Then I thought of my wife, and all her clothes taking up 3/4 of our closet (I'm grudgingly allowed the remaining 1/4). And her clothes in the hall closet. And those in the other hall closet. And the ones taking up most of the room in the closet in my son's room. And the ones in the two cedar chests. And the clothes in the armoires (stand-alone closets). Oh, and her clothes in the dressers in our bedroom. So yeah, we're lucky there are only three costumes!
Well Lynda Carter WW also had the swimsuit costume, and technically wearing that star spangled cape made it a third costume and there was that season 1 ep that Roy Rogers was in where she wore more normal attire, apparently as they didn't want her wearing the WW costume around all the little kids that were in that episode. Four costumes.

Because I don't generally have names on the minimap and the offender was too far away, we couldn't even say who the offender was. The real shame was that we had Marauder down 18% in under 5 minutes at that point.

The last attempt we waited until there was about a minute left and 23% health before using the grenades.
This is why I endeavor to remind people to pass their grenades to the leader of their team. Granted there will be hold outs or those that can seem to figure out how to give the grenade....

Still if each leader holds onto their 10 grenades and understands not to use them and you have enough debuffage for Marauder then it should be a Mo win.

  5. While building a functional replica of an AT-AT is cool, I have a hard time picturing those 4 skinny legs as being able to support the behemoth and provide decent mobility, plus the possible fuel requirements could be prohibitive as well.

Also let's not forget the classic line "use your harpoons and tow cables, go for their legs!"

    Quite true.

Now if the devs could kindly debug the coding on the grenade badges in Lambda so they can be worked one at a time vs only getting them all at once that would be great.

But you're outta here, so it doesn't matter.

Everyone else: Ran with another PUG Master BAF on Tuesday. There were about four or five friendly faces, the rest were as random as you can get 'em, but fit the bill for general concerns (the first qualification was general AT, which suited pretty much all the needs). Kudos to that team, I forget who organized it but it was nice to see a completely PUG crew basically get asked "can we do this as a Master run", and have everyone agree immediately and just get business going. A few stumbles from surprise deaths on the AV fights (from the towers), but everything else was swimmingly smooth.
PUG MoBaf is easier then PUG MoLambda, IMO. While Baf has potential for griefing such as the badge for NOT clicking the gun turrets and some twit decides to click one, the MoLambda needs quite a bit of debuffage to compensate for not using the special grenades, and if someone with a grenade decides there isn't enough debuffage, it only takes one grenade to wreck getting all three grenadge badges as they are currently coded as they only seem to reward if go for all of them at once. Hoping this will be fixed in an update soon thus letting us work one grenade badge at a time.

MoBaf: not hard to secure Siege and Nightstar at their spawn points. One team should be able to handle the reinforcements, at which point it comes down to good timing to ensure getting the badge for beating them both with no reinforcements on the map. No prisoners escaping, good coordination will get you that badge. No clicking gun turrets: easiest one to grief and hard to monitor to ensure no one is moving to click one.
  8. I liked how Simonson shook up the THOR character by bringing in Beta Ray Bill and showing that there was indeed another person that could indeed be deemed worthy of Mjolnir. ODIN's solution of trial by combat for the hammer was mainly to teach THOR humility at long last then employ the correct solution by having a new hammer forged for Beta Ray Bill. It also was then used to strip THOR of the Don Blake identity and remove that ludicrous 60 second time limit THOR suffered from if he was separated from the hammer.

Future writers would bring in others such as the future Thor known as Dargo, and Eric Masterson, though Eric had to be merged with THOR and later slowly prove his worthiness of the hammer's power.

However it made total sense to me back in ish 390 of THOR when Steve Rogers was able to lift the hammer. If the original Captain America cannot pickup THOR's hammer, something is indeed wrong.

I'd like to think it wasn't intentional but the person was lol'ing it up and acting like a buffoon...at least until the league leader gave him the boot before we ended the trial.

    ah well, next time.

The art and story is there, it's just the coloring that holds it back.
Plus it was problems like that that prompted Marvel to change the Hulk from grey to green. Now years later we get the Bruce is a MPD thus we can have both Hulks.

Basically the pacification grenades are like "training wheels" to allow "low" level incarnates to finish the trial. So-called "high" level incarnates won't need them.
Last night we had 3 rads bombarding Marauder and likely would have obtained the win until someone got a grenade from the crate and threw it.......despite being repeatedly told by the league leader NO GRENADES, ad infinitum.

The problem is that normally it takes him awhile to power down when cut from the sun.

When he first fought The Hulk....er sorry I meant DOOMSDAY, after Superman was restored it was explained that during that fight Superman was expending solar energy faster then his body was absorbing it hence why he was killed. However even as he collapsed in Lois arms his body was still absorbing solar power which contributed to his revival.

    1. Kryptonite in all its colors with the possible exception of Blue.

    2. Magic

    3. Mind control either my brainwashing, magic or psionic

    4. Cut him off from the yellow sun rays and he will run out of power.

I mean honestly how stupid can you get.

Whats even worse is his constant ability to overcome these Kryptonite based obstacles, Superman Returns being the most ludacrous of them all, hes been stabbed with Kryptonite, yet he lifts a half/half Kryptonite/Kryptoquartz micro-contient off of the earth and into space.

Having a villain that can stand toe to toe with him on raw power while still occupying that mad brilliant mind niche Lex also occupies will allow for a bit of thrills and waht not, but saying that, the nearest thing to a fight scene between 2 equally powerful entities in Superman 2 was the canteen... and Clark got owned.
It was established sometime back that when exposed to kryptonite that if Superman is exposed to a greater source of solar energy then the kryptonite he can charge up and hold off the effects of Kryptonite poisoning. Also tossing that mountain into space took everything he had and then some as he came crashing back to Earth. By all rights he should have perished from the impact due to kryptonite poisoning and power depletion.

So true. Also with so many people needed to run these it will be....tricky....to ensure that all listen and not behave....irrationally.

Ah well with time and coordination I'm sure they can be obtained. Given how many times one must spin an alt through these just to get the XP to unlock the incarnate slots, they will have many chances for the badges.

I've always thought that the anniversary badges were kind of a bad idea to begin with. Applying "real world player" based badges to in-game characters always seemed a bit weird to me. Why would Captain Amazing flying around in Paragon City care about the anniversary of a real world game and why would he get a badge for that.

Again I'll just say I would not be bothered if the Devs provided a new way to get anniversary badges.
The trick seems to be in convincing them to do it.
Didn't they once say they were looking to make them account based like the Vet badges?

In any event, it doesn't matter. The quick solution would be to turn them on to be awarded during the big 7th anniversary. People will then have another chance to obtain missing anniversary badges. If they miss the login time frame...well that would be regrettable for them.

And even beyond what any player thinks you'd still have to convince the Devs that this would be worth their effort. While they've given us new ways to get many previous event badges they have yet to do that with any anniversary badge. One would have to assume they are generally against the idea. *shrugs*
Yes I expect some would rage-quit over this, or rather this being the straw that broke the back as it were as they had other issues with the game and this would push them over the edge to quitting.

Alternatively as I have stated in past threads about this: the Winter Event login pages could also be called anniversary badges as they were for each year of the event. Yet for the past couple of winter events we could go to Pocket D with candy canes and craft missing winter badges, including the previous login badges.

Thus we have a precedent for crafting/buying missing badges. They COULD add all the anniversary badges to the winter event craft menu, requiring x-mount of candy canes and inf. As the Winter Event is once per year for a limited time, not everyone could craft anniversary badges for all the alts they wanted it on and once the event is closed down everyone has to wait until next year.

Problem solved. The ability to craft the anniversary badges will be there once per year and no one is forced to craft them, purely an option.

Or as an alternative, as part of the upcoming 7th anniversary they could reactivate ALL anniversary badges to be rewarded when alts are logged in during a certain time window. (a week for example) This gives people yet another chance to get missing anniversary badges for their assorted toons.

  25. How about an arc for Blueside Ouroborus since Celebrant was initally blueside only. 5 missions long where you are time traveling back to the time of the first anniversary and you must stop the 5th column from destroying the celebration. At the end of the arc you can receive the Celebrant badge and hence the 5th column gladiator badge. Other arcs could be created to reward other anniversary badges or just have a menu come up at the end of this arc where you can choose an anniversary badge that your alt is missing.
