Fixed an issue with the front leg during the sit animation. -
Quote:The Babylon 5 novels that deal with the telepath war and centauri prime. So the wife and I are heading off to Cuba next week (yay!) to a nice relaxing resort to unwind, looking at bringing on some reading material.
Anyone have any favourites in the Sci-Fi genre (never been much for swords & sorcery etc..) that wouldn't be too deep or heavy, not looking for any depressing end of the world type of stories, just some light stuff for the beach.
Roger Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber, starting with Nine Princes of Amber
Star Wars: any book written by Timothy Zahn, start with the Thrawn Trilogy.
Also the Enders' Game books -
Okay that trailer contains even more awesome then the USA version
I looked at some of the extra Loki army scenes and I get more convinced that he has somehow taken control of the Frost Giants OR they are the alien race from Ultimate Avengers. I'm leaning more towards the aliens as Marvel movies tend to mix in elements from the Ultimates series at times and we already have Loki causing the heroes to team up like he did back in the 60's. -
Quote:Fitness turning inherent was a blessing for many altsIm also seeing that Tough and Weave powers appearing all over the place. Are they actually necassary for a truly sustainable build? I've really liked having to take powers just to make you more rugged, just like I hated having to take the Fitness pool before it becmae inherant.
Im liking the Non tp builds!
On a stone tank you can hit the beloved Smash/Lethal resistance cap of 90%, or very close to it, without Tough. T3 or greater Cardiac provides more resistance which will bring you to the cap. Weave of course is nice as more defense is usually a good thing and Weave can slot an LOTG recharge booster and a Gift of Ancients run booster.
My own stone tank doesn't have tough/weave and is capped on S/L resist and on S/L def.
Stone Brutes on the other hand usually need Tough to make it to S/L resistance cap. -
Quote:Hello!
My main toon is a Stone/Stone/Stone tank named Rockshock. Hes always been a bit of a soloer and his build is built around that, but ive noticed that he just cant keep up with a large team or other tankers. I cant stand toe to toe against most big guys for long, and if I do survive their attacks, I dont dish out enough damage to over come their regen.
I prefer not to be in Granite Form hence the focus around the non granite defense powers, and I refuse to take rooted as a power. Ive always hated it and im not going to start loving it now!
I know this build is missing a few IO's and stuff, but this is how it looks at the moment.
Please can someone take a look at it and tell me where im going wrong?
]
Okay for starters as others have said, you really need rooted. Believe me I understand the speed penalty can be a drag and of course the lack of jumping, but a keybind or tray button to shut down rooted and activate super jump or super speed can be handy. Rooted provides a 90% run speed penalty, granite is 70% penalty and they stack when both powers are on. If you can use IO's to compensate and boost run speed, then you could either seriously reduce or eliminate the penalty from rooted. Still can't jump of course but that is an unavoidable penalty unless you have about 100 kinetics all hitting you with inertial reduction
Here is the link to the old guide I wrote for how stone brutes can boost their speed, the builds in it are blueprints only so feel free to modify them for your own use and the guide was written as I recall before fitness turned inherent. The builds in it can be adapted to stone tanks.

Some more Whedon comments as of today:
"With the superhero epic nearly complete, Joss Whedon continues his media blitz, this time with Total Film Magazine. Courtesy of a detailed article summary at Comic Book Movie, Whedon speaks to his initial pitch for the film, why it's the definitive Hulk movie and subtle references to the comic book source material.
"This isn't the kind of movie where we're going to wink at the audience," Whedon told Total Film. "There's a great deal of humor and there are a couple of things where people will go, 'Oh!' if they're very into Marvel. Here and there I've thrown references, tiny things I remember [from the comics], but it's not one of those things where you look at and go, 'Oh, that guy and that guy! It's not 'Where's Waldo?'"
The director further clarified his goals for Earth's Mightiest Movie, saying he doesn't intend for "The Avengers" to merely be a first movie in a series.
"We DO give a nod to a greater problem than the one solved in this film," he said. "I'm a great believer in the idea that if you make the first one to be a 'first one,' then you have already failed. As much as we want to service the idea of a film in a franchise, I want this to be a satisfying film experience. I don't want people to go out saying,
'When's the next part?' I want people to say, 'Oh, I want to see that again!'"
He also definitively and completely debunked rumor of a Spider-Man cameo in the film saying, "There is no Spider-Man cameo in this movie!""

Hm a nod to a greater problem then the movie's main threat.... the tesseract is lost in the final battle but after the credits we see THANOS of Titan finding it? A skrull armada coming to Earth? Kree armada? Can't be Galactus as he's a Fantastic Four problem first and foremost. The time traveling warlord Kang? Ultron?

Per Joss the movie should be 2hrs and 15minutes in length, he has cut about 45 minutes of footage to bring it to that length. No plans for a "director cut" dvd so hopefully all the cut footage is on the bonus section of the DVD.
Minor spoiler: he confirms the attacking army are neither Kree nor Skrulls.
Speculation: the Phalanx? or one of Asgard's enemies?
Expect plenty of Marvel easter eggs in the movie, don't expect easter eggs or references to Joss' prior works. -
Quote:Hm, so that's how....I may try that. For now I simply lowered the floor, installed the TP units, increased the ceiling and then put the 6 beacons on the ceiling above the TP unit.Yeah. The trick is to position a Cubicle where you want the beacons. The walls of the cubicle act like valid mounting locations for the beacons.
Still it's nice to go from 9 tp units to 4. 3 Hacked units for the regular zones, 1 hacked unit in a separate room linked to the hazard areas and one raid TP unit. -
Quote:It's true, the old Men in Black comics depicted them as an organization that handles all manner of threats, be it alien, demonic etc. However the old comics eventually revealed that MIB was out to reshape the world into their own image via their actions. Agents severed all ties to their previous lives when they join MIB and they are authorized to use any means including murder and destruction to achieve their goals.Wait what? They use to kill witnesses! Wow that kind of sucks. While I would like to go see this the likely scenerio will be I will have to wait for it on dvd to watch it.

Needless to say, the movies made a few changes such as the neuralyzer for memory wipes instead of killing people, and they only deal with aliens and extra terrestrial problems and of course the humor. -
Latest news was that Mickey, Peter and Michael will not be attending the family memorial for Davy. However this is due to the family requesting that it be a private family function only, and they are respecting their wishes.

Perhaps it is time for a catastrophe to occur that wipes out the PvP zones, their entrances become closed off and the zones become Echoes in the Ouroborus zone? Players could still pvp in the echoes as well as get the pvp badges of course.

Quote:Loki has control over Dr Selvig from THOR and apparently also gains ahold of Hawkeye and uses them to get the tesseract. The tesseract apparently emits low level gamma rays but SHIELD is having some trouble tracking it so they send Natasha to get Bruce Banner since no one knows gamma rays like him.I didn't read that link (yet)... but here's what I already know...
Loki is attacks earth with the intention of ruling the world (and probably bating a trap for Thor.. cause why else would he do that?)
SHIELD tries to form the Avengers.
The Avengers don't get along.
They eventually decide to team up because Earth needs them.
They save earth.
There's room for a sequal.
Ok... now I'm going to look at the link and see if I'm surprised. -
If you do not want to receive some major spoilers about the Avengers movie then DO NOT click the link below. The pics and data are from the Avengers movie storybook.......
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansit.../news/?a=55882
Of course temptation can be a hard thing to resist.
Still here's a minor one: the skirmish that we see in the trailers with THOR attacking Captain America is the basic "hero meets other hero, they misunderstand each others motives and have a brief fight before figuring things out." -

IMDB shows he's still active with movies so I'd guess he wasn't available or just didn't want to come back.
I suspect Tommy Lee won't be in much of MIB3 except for the beginning and the final few minutes and that getting him back for the role cost a lot.
So, how many time paradoxes are going to be in MIB 3?
History changes so that K is erased, how J remembers him though is a mystery until I see the movie. So J has to go back into the past and fix things so that K lives. J possibly also helps shape the early MIB organization into what it becomes in his time. From that scene in the trailer when young K hands J a gun, it is a bullet shooting gun and not a ray gun. So does J help introduce some tech to MIB such as ray guns and the neuralyzer? The old MIB comics showed that MIB killed witnesses so perhaps J will teach them a better path with the neuralyzer?
Also not only must J save K, but that would mean that K will have to be on the lookout in the future to make sure he meets J and gets him inducted into MIB so that J can go to the past and save K and so on...... time loops, gotta love them and hate them at the same time. -
-
OMG that was hilarious! Great Andy Warhol joke. Also I noted that young K gave J a regular gun. A nod I suspect to the old comics when the MIB would kill witnesses and eliminate rogue agents.
I get the feeling that J going to the past is going to help shape the MIB of the future besides saving K's life. -

Well it shows they have someone paying attention at times I suppose, still the Futurama and Firefly cancellations will likely never be forgiven despite Serenity and Futurama returning.

Seems he did have it in an issue of the comic and that it wasn't just one of Adam West's many Bat-gadgets. -
One of the few times I'd agree with Fox cancelling show.

Interesting read, he even gives a few kind remarks about the Stallone Dredd movie, while acknowledging that they got a few things wrong with he feels it got a bad rap....hm.
I agree with him that Stallone would not be the first choice, then of course there is the rule about Dredd's face is never to be revealed which was pretty much tossed out. -
True, but still better to lose a penguin then a deadly snake. Hope the Penguin is safely returned.
-
Quote:Well better to lose a Penguin then to have a dangerous cobra escaped like one zoo had happen last year. Luckily after a few days of bait setup in assorted locations, it was caught and returned to the reptile exhibit, no casualties. The funny part is that the zoo didn't know it was missing until -another- zoo emailed a pic of it swimming outside. Amongst the zoo social network it has to suck to be the guy working at the zoo that lost the penguin - he'll probably never live it down.
Clearly Kowalski gave Skipper an option that allowed him to jump the wall...
Still for the Penguin, turn on the Bat-signal!
