    Pros and Cons of Stone:

Pros: Has lots of resistance and defences, arguably the strongest when it comes to survival
Cons: Reduced damage, reduced recharge, reduced movement speed when using tier9 granite mode, many stone toggles cover costume, granite replaces it completely

    Pros and Cons of Energy:

Pros: Defences can be softcapped, multiple tools to recover endurance
Cons: Light resistances, toxic and psi holes, stealth toggle hides your costume
While it is true that Stone Armor has some cons, the cons can be easily compensated for with certain IO's. My stone armor alts all have at least 70% recharge bonus from IO's which negates granite's recharge penalty, and my two brutes have about 90% run boost and my stone tank has 100% run boost which greatly reduces the combined 160% run penalty from granite+rooted. Also they are nicely defense softcapped and are all working on getting Agility for their Alpha so they can remove Cardiac.

Right after Loki says "I have an army" pause it fast and you should see a nice closeup of the face of one of his soldiers. Resume playing for Stark's already classic response "We have a Hulk!" and then smile as Hulk pounds on the enemy.
  3. I enjoyed this nostalgia as well. Now here's a question for us all:

If you suddenly got rich (lottery, lawsuit win, inheritance, found gold or oil, whatever) and you decided to sink some of the money into salvaging a network that really needs to return to its lost glory, which of the two would you choose:

    1. Cartoon Network
    2. Sci-Fi Channel

Yes I spell it Sci-Fi because that is how it SHOULD be. SyFy indeed.....bah! A network run by people that don't like sci-fi....ugh....

Maybe they are still tripping on the Brotherly Love badge?
I'm running into a similar situation but it is only Gate Crasher.

My two badgers would've been done a day sooner but I spent time sending them after the new badges that must be played to be earned vs. parking for almost a month. Still it's nice to be caught up again except of course for certain unattainable or broken badges.

Also second crop of retired alts have wrapped the new DA DJ. Crop 3 and 4 this weekend.

What's it all about? Well, when the Doctor introduces us to them via the TARDIS, I'm sure we'll all know.

There has to be other intelligent life out there, otherwise the universe needs a design overhaul. If the Doctor and his Tardis aren't available then lets get Dr. Jones and his Crystal Skull to aid us.

For what it's worth I fully expect that sometime in the future after the US military finally withdraws from Afghanistan there'll be a modernized version of M*A*S*H set in Afghanistan. We can only hope that when that happens the makers of that show will make it as socially relevant and thought-provoking as the original M*A*S*H. Either that or they'll portray the Taliban as zombie hordes and make some kind of Walking Dead crossover out of it.
Before wishing for a new M*A*S*H series, remember they had........After-M*A*S*H....
  9. This is one movie I'd be glad to see. Also seeing Santa in action in the trailer made me think of Robo-Santa from Futurama.

OMG....that video was hilarious. Marauder would make a nice vehicle probably more for the Punisher then Batman though.

As I recall, wasn't Quetzalcoatl more of a "benevolent" deity? If such is the case and it is marked to return, then it could be a good thing.

Presuming that said deity exists at all of course. Call me understandably skeptical.

Home electricity generator? Again, blizzards or ice storms. We were without power for a week one winter due to a massive ice storm. Wouldn't want to go through that again.

Granted, there are people who go way overboard, like that Doomsday Preppers show, but a little preparation at the least can be useful for other situations. Besides, better to have something and not need it than to need it and not have a chance at getting it.
Sure, and I always keep some supplies on hand in case the weather turns rotten or there is a power failure. How many people went to extremes? As I recall, portable power generator sales boomed and one person that used to live in my neighborhood at the time had stockpiled about 10 portable generators and a lot of fuel for them. Not to mention all the guns and ammo and food supplies. For the record this neighbor was a war veteran and I respected his service to the U.S.A, but also he had lingering PTS problems and didn't always see things in a.....rational way. I even triple checked all his computers that he had and assured him that they would handle Y2K with no problems and repeatedly assured him that he had way more then enough supplies and should consider donating some of the generators and fuel to neighbors that may want or need them. I didn't want to try to get him to get rid of any of his guns as I knew that would be bad and some of the neighbors likely wouldn't be able to handle some of his guns anyway. Anyway, long story short, Y2K didn't trigger the end of all things and he felt rather foolish for having hoarded so many things. It took him awhile to get rid of all but two of the generators and fuel and a few years later he moved away for whatever reason.

  17. From the first Men in Black:
"Humans for the most part don't have a clue, they don't want one or need one. They think they have a good bead on things. Why the big secret, people are smart they can handle it. A person is smart, people are dumb panicky animals and you know it. 1500 years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. 500 years ago everybody knew the Earth was flat. 15 minutes ago you knew that people were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow."
    ______________________________________

Some people are likely going to get all worked up into a state of panic that will be reminiscent of the panic over Y2K. Everybody remember that little panic fest? People hoarding supplies, portable generators, etc. etc., all believing that some catastrophe was going to sweep over the planet. Guess what? No catastrophe, what a shocker....NOT.

There have been prophecies of doom and destruction spouted off by people over the centuries and guess what? The human race is still here. Then what makes me laugh is some of these crackpots that spout prophecies of doom attempt some lame "reexamining" of their data or visions or whatever (ill interpret it as going back into a medicinal/drug induced haze) and then come back with a "revised" vision of doom, and people still form up on people like this, donate money, time, whatever is needed to help "warn the masses" or "build a shelter" to ride out the doomsday scenario.

Now granted I'm not too keen on how the human race has treated planet Earth over the years, much less how the human race treats itself, but I honestly don't believe anything that says December 21, 2012 is the day humanity pays for its evil or any other such nonsense.

Once December 21, 2012 passes and we move into December 22, 2012 there will be someone, somewhere, that will state the Mayans miscalculatd by a day or a month or whatever, or they will come up with some tripe about an ancient Egyptian or Sumerian prophecy of doom that will be even worse then what the Mayans thought would come.

As far as this "documentary" that is being filmed......anyone else here remember Geraldo Rivera's "riveting special" about the locating and opening of "Al Capone's Vault"?

Remember the old saying "Nothing like the FACTS to get in the way of a good panic"?

A Batman in a world realistic enough to calculate how much he costs will not continue working to The Dark Knight Returns age. He will physically give out long before that point. And, of course, all of this isn't even beginning to consider potential psychological trauma.
Indeed. In terms of trauma, Bruce is already wrecked from seeing his parents gunned down when he was eight. Now factor in how quickly it turned into an obsession to see criminals caught and punished, then the ten years (roughly) that he spent traveling the world under assorted fake names to learn skills from everyone imaginable, toxicologists, detectives, race car drivers, mechanics, martial arts, etc etc. That is a lot of knowledge for one person to learn much less practice and retain.

In terms of age and physical collapse, Bruce trained himself to near human perfection but he's still only human. If you go by Batman Beyond we can see that Bruce kept going as Batman to the point of making the bat suit to augment his speed, strength, senses and even giving him flight capacity and he kept on going until his heart flared up while in battle. After he unmasks we see his hair is mostly white with some black still in it, so I'd guesstimate that he pushed himself until his mid 50's before his heart flared up and he was forced to use a gun to scare that criminal. How many Bat-men could really go from age 18 or 21 at the start of their bat-career and last into their 50's?

Terry McGinnis started at around age 16, already physically fit and with some minor training already before he grabbed the batsuit which augments him to superhuman levels. How long before his heart flares up from all the physical exertion plus possible side effects of the bat-suit?

Realistically, Batman just can't be done. Neither could the Punisher, while he may not be as hi tech as Batman and he scavenges money and weapons from crackhouses that he takes down for example, Frank should have been fatally gunned down long ago, or else his health should have failed.
  19. Tech and cash problems notwithstanding, how often would also have to replace one of your Batmen? Injury, age, killed in action....not to mention ensuring that they stay silent and don't start telling secrets to the media. Bruce Wayne trained since he was eight to become the Batman, so he's spent his life honing his mind and body and he has the zen-will to keep on going. How many people like that are you going to find?

    "NINJA TURTLES

Yes, the title is correct. Michael Bay has revealed the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" remake will now simply be known as "Ninja Turtles." On the Shoot For The Edit forums, Bay commented on Paramount's decision to change the name and how it might affect the film.

"Paramount marketing changed the name," Bay said via forum post. "They made the title simple. The characters you all remember are exactly the same, and yes they still act like teenagers. Everything you remember, why you liked the characters, is in the movie. This script is being developed by two very smart writers, with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles. They care very much about making this film for the fans. Everyone on this team cares about the fans. Just give them a chance. Jonathan the director, is a major fan of the whole franchise. He's not going to let you down."

    Opens Christmas 2013"

Sure there might be a time in the future when some version of the Stooges might be able to tackle an Osama-like bad guy, but I think the whole terrorist thing is probably a little too current and sensitive to be given the Stooge treatment at this point.
Oh I expect this movie will be very generic in terms of Stooge plot. As for terrorists being too sensitive for Stooge treatment.....that didn't stop the originals in the 40's with a certain german But yeah it is a different world, so we likely won't get Stooges vs. the terrorists.

This. I've already converted some non-Gladiator IO into Gladiator def procs, but there is still one that I want to convert that took 10 converts just to make it a gladiator IO, and after 8 attempts so far it won't turn into the proc.
