The problem is that every Stalker can choose when a fight begins (his stealth cannot be pierced by anything beyond 10 feet) and he also chooses when every fight ends (via placate or powers like teleport and restealthing). Placate is autohit and nothing in the game protects against it, so there's nothing you can do about that.
Put these two together, throw in damage that can kill a scrapper in two hits while also detoggling him, remember they can open from a position of preparation (yellows, reds, build up) against a target who can't predict the attack, and you realise that the reason your sets don't help you is that you never actually fight the Stalker at all. He just choose when you die. Doesn't work? He just ends the fight and tries again in 20 seconds.
Your sets will help you a great deal if you actually get into a fight - but stalkers simply don't fight. Try and get a brute or the like to go up against, then you should see the benefits.
If you actually want to kill stalkers, then you have to work in a team. It's the only chance you have, because anything else that might work, the stalker can simply avoid forever.
The best way is trickery. Offer them a seemingly helpless target then have several people hit them with everything you've got - and remember they have all the defenses of a scrapper aside from everything else, so you're not going to get very far if it isn't a massively damaging assault.
Defenders can be useful team-mates to have against stalkers. Not all stalker secondaries have repel resistance, for example, so auto-hit repel aura powers can do you some good.

You put way too much faith in Stalkers. My own scrapper can go toe-to-toe with one, even after an AS, and my build is extremely poor for PvP. No, the real buggers are debuffing Corrupters.
Placate is autohit, but not all powerful. It is defeated by AoE attacks, auras, and damage over time. If you are readying an attack when you get Placated, the attack can still hit after the Placate, breaking it. -
It's an equal trade. Stalkers don't fare as well as you will in PvE.
And take other's advice; fight in RV to use your set bonuses, use quills, keep moving. And bear in mind that while it LOOKS effortless playing a Stalker, it really isn't.
You said he ET'ed you, Energy Transfer? Of all the stalkers you could pick a fight with, you choose one with the best single-target damage in the game? And of an unusual type, no less! They're talking about buffing the other sets to match Energy Melee's awesomeness, or (less likely) nerfing EM. Y'see, it's one of those sets.
If you really want to win at PvP, rethink your build with it in mind. This is hardly ideal, everyone (devs included) would rather that not be needed, but it's true. Spines are arguably the best anti-Stalker set, so you have a head start. -

That's rather old news
The crit multiplier on Heroes (as in, AV equivalent) seems a little steep - 10% of their total health, before res debuffs and outside damage buffs? Heck no.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not that bad. Remember, for a Stalker to do an AS, it has to be hidden and must stand next to the target for about three seconds. That's a fair risk given all the AoEs some of the stronger Hero-class NPCs have. Plus, such an insane hit would earn you the agro of the Hero, meaning you need to leg it, and FAST. There's Placate I suppose, but the agro will still be there once you've waited long enough, to say nothing of the possibility of the Hero getting off just one strong attack before the Placate takes effect. All things considered you won't be AS'ing very often at all in an epic Hero battle, so every one has to count.
I've seen AVs go down very quickly as well, on CoH and CoV. I'd be suprised if a stalker got any more than two AS's off in that time.
The figure may need to be reduced a tad, but it's the right ballpark. -
I don't think you can slot damage in the Mires. My combo ALWAYS involves Dwarf Mire first, then a macro to turn off Dwarf and activate human Mire at the same time. I've only used them out of order once since I set that macro up. If you went that route, you'd only need to slot Dwarf Mire for accuracy, as the ACC boost the mire itself gives would assist the second mire.
But yeah, three recharges, must. Hasten too. -
Cyberknight: Trade you one Cytoskeleton Exposure for one of my Enzyme Exposure (ToHit debuff / Def debuff / End redux).

Info for any mod (ie Bridger): it seems Lui was present at this raid. Harmless to the raid itself, in my opinion, but there was a lot of name calling from pretty much everyone, and petitions everywhere. S'gonna be a tough tangle to sort out...
-
Yeah, it was mental, people dropping like flies, three (!) milto teams, people slamming fulcrum shift / kinetic transfer, that nuke going of... Still, good fun.

See if you can find yourself in those screenies! I diddn't trudge through at 200% detail for nothing. -
Hamidon is dead. I'd say the raid went awesome! The fact I got a DMG/Acc has nothing to do with it, of course... >_>
Whatever happened to Heyman? Thanks to Mr. ? for leading the raid well.
Oh, and someone needs to make it a bit clearer how much kinetics is loathed in hami raids. -
Oh yes. Full 200% detail on everything, full shader effects, highest quality textures... If it has an option, it's at max. 4x antialiasing and 16x anisotropic filtering, 1280x1024. CoH can't look any better than this!

Scrapper. BS/Inv if it matters. Been to one raid before. Should be taking an AR/En blaster friend of mine too.
-
What good does Damage/Range do for a scrapper? I've got like, one ranged attack - Energy Torrent from Body Mastery. There's no damn way I'm wasting a HO on that.
-
My 50 could do with going there. I'll try and take part, if you'll have me.
Never done Hami, but I've read the guide and have the gist. -
You know when you're a Peacebringer when... you get hired to do a fireworks show.
You know when you're a Warshade when... you think you're a necrophiliac. -
Erk, thats not what I meant... this time last year? My head no worky. >_<
Rather, twas this time two years ago (started on the US servers). I1 days, when the men were men! (And so were the women >_>. I actually missed Unyielding back then, because it had +root. Whats the point in mez protection if you cant ruddy move?
-
The Huge sound is damn embarrasing. Its almost like an angry "MOOOOO!"
-
Hope you don't mind, but my scrapper is 50 now.
Necrobond / Broadsword / Invulnerability / Body mastery -
I know i'm not very active here, but... Yay, my first fifty!
Started my Necrotron scrapper about this time last year, got it to 50 as Necrobond few minutes ago. Is that one of the longest times ever?
Got a level 6 WS too, seems... spiffy.
Now all I needs to do is do a Hami raid... was on holiday during the last one. -

Then I saw a 32 Katana scrapper do 432 damage with Golden Dragonfly (also PBAoE), no buildup, no buffs.
[/ QUOTE ]
Golden Dragonfly is NOT a PBAoE, it's a narrow cone just like Headsplitter.
In fact, it's the Katana version of Headsplitter with slightly faster animation and recharge, lower end cost and damage.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh. My bad. Still, my headsplitter diddnt do that much damage. It did uh, 300-odd, also 3-slotted damage. -
Okay, i'm a BS/Inv scrapper (worst type i've ever seen), and my Whirling Sword PBAoE attack does roughly 140 damage against reds at level 44, without build up. Thats with three green Dmg SOs. Then I saw a 32 Katana scrapper do 432 damage with Golden Dragonfly (also PBAoE), no buildup, no buffs.
...What the hell? That was higher than a Nova! -
Why is everyone mocking my primary build?
BS/Inv is a very simple, rugged set, which needs quite a fair bit of endurance management. Put one end redux in most things, three-slot stamina, and you can even Fly with full toggles and not lose endurance. Add in say, focused accuracy to break the defense of purples, and you'll need either conserve power or some accolades to keep things peachy.
People say BS is boring, and yes, they're right. But it more than anything else defines the word SMASH! for me. Truly, if you want something dead, it dies without much fuss. There is an almost silly amount of single target damage, and theres a fair bit of AoE in there as well. The final, most powerfull attack, Head Splitter, is actually a very narrow cone attack, hitting anyone in a straight line with its full high damage. BS has plenty of knockdown / up in its later powers too, and with Air Sup in your chain, you can even keep bosses bouncing around, unable to attack.
Inv can be seen as equally no-fuss, just hit the toggles, dive in, and so long as you stay away from Psychic enemies, you (mostly) wont die. (Dont dive in while your teammates are planning, for petes sake! You are NOT a tanker.) Theres also Unstoppable, but there seems to be a huge divide between the pro-MoGers and the anti-MoGers, with me being one of the former. On a scrapper, you dont have to deal with tanker-agro, so the fallout from Unstoppable isnt as dangerous as people think, so long as you have dull pain ready. Myself, I cant pass up having my damage resistance capped out.
This no-nonsense approach to defense, packed with auto/toggle powers, means you can concentrate more on attacking, unlike say, DA. I suppose that compensates for BS's long animation time (and I still feel Disembowel needs to be looked at).
Combining the two can help with ToHit, as Invincibility will boost your ACC while your BS attacks lower enemies DEF. This pretty much gives you a free accuracy bonus on this build, meshing well with the added damage of BS. You do admittedly need to take a lot of powers to get it to work at its best - taking all of them cant hurt.
The best way to picture a BS/Inv scrapper is a panzer tank. Slow to attack, petrol-hungry, but very well armed and armored. -
Here is a picture of a base I made during the beta. I polished it a lot more after I took that screen dump, but thats the only one I have. Its not really that great, but it shows you what kind of layouts you can make.

I read a guide about bot masterminds, and apparently in the time it takes for Upgrade Bot to recharge you can Equip the rest of them. That would take ages...

Let me tell u from experience i had with my MM...(i had ZOMG Greek level 36 3 bars away from 37 Bots FF MM)
Drop maneuvers and get assault for that little extra damage and dispersion field asap...photon grenade and the attacks u have from primary u need drop as they only waste endurance and not really good damage plus unwanted aggro...try take the medicine pool asap for that extra heal to your bots and PFF asap...PFF is a multi tool with it u can even tank AV's if u get the trick how to do it effectively and fast enough....
[/ QUOTE ]
I've taken photon grenade in my bots/FF build, and will most likely respec out of it when I can. But it IS fairly handy; lob a nade into a large group when teaming (not as an alpha strike! Dont go agroing everyone in teams for petes sake), then whack on PFF. Voila, 5+ enemies all shooting at you, with great futility. A nice way to pull agro off of headstrong Stalkers, or indeed your own henchman. With this, you can stand in the middle of them and not get others to attack them, holding the agro and keeping them out of the fight. Even with a single DO in defense, against oranges and reds (and even purple bosses), I just dont get hurt. -
He's talking about enhancement diversification. For the most part, this means anything which buffs the effect of a power to over 94% becomes basically wasted, and no amount of extra SOs will help. 3 SOs fall into that category, as they would normally buff to 99%.
You're using DOs, and to get the same effect you would need to 6 slot, giving a 99% boost, which is reduced to 94%.
More specifically, it works like this: 33% for one SO, 66% for two, 94% for three, 96% for four, 98% for five, and 100% for six. Thats why anything above three SOs is wasted. You'd best read States's description of ED for the full details.
