One of my Vg memebers says there is a badge called Chosen One but I cant find any info on it.

Has ANYONE ever gotten the Villain badge?????????
I have way out leveled whats his name in Nerva who wants you to kill longbow but I just want to knwo what I have done wrong.
I am level 39 and have killed countless Longbow and have never gotten a badge for Longbow aside from unlocking the warden gladiator.
I have issues with much of the contact, mission badge system. But I really think that if they want to add "unlockable" contacts they need to make them non-level capped. People who dont read the forums religously will probably not know you need to kill Scrapyard Ghost by X level to open Y contact befopre you hit level Z -
Just wanted to see if this is a bug, if there is a solution and warn others of the problem.
If you use the ADD Wall function it doesnt seem to let you ever select the wall again to remove it. I believe I have been able to do this once but 99% of the time it sems once you add a wall it can be permant. Only way I have found to correct it is to delete the entire room. -
I gave the example in another thread that ist like a carnival game. You know they show you cool prizes and you play and then they give you a 3 cent plastic snake... Collect 10 of those and you 50 cent minuture stuffed bear and so on..
Its really discouraging to earn badges for weapons that cant be place for months.
There is too much waiting and saving for something that isnt that cool and way over priced.
The devs have also FORCED you to have to upgrade and add rooms you might not even want or need. Like only allowing 2 teleporters in a pretty big room and requiring 8 rooms for raids or only allowing 2 tables in the workshop. Then charging 100K to even do a raid
My VG signed on to this game because of bases and PVP. They are slobbering to do base raids. I estimate it will be a minimum of 25-32 weeks to have a base that is the modestly defensive. We are talking well over a year to have a pretty good one.
Bases could have been a super cool addition to the game that would keep people ineterested in the game but it looks like its just a big time and money sink. A lot of effort for not much in return.
Charging 600,000 - 7 million to place items we have EARNED the schematics for and EARNED the salvage for and EARNED The room it goes and EARNED the plot upgrade is just not right. A device costs more than the freaking plot!
We were discussing this tonight. Its costing us at least 3 million just to do the Catherdral. And for what. An Item which gives us a 1% increase in something. For that money we could just buy everyone a life time supply of inspirations that will have basically the same effect.
We are all 40 or about to hit it and were going to focus on the base. Right now all we will be doing is twidling our thumbs waiting for I7 and hoping people dont get bored and move on to another game. -

No he is up North next to Magus.
His story arc deals with helping me make Archanos like me again.
First part ends with facing Indigo -- the spy chick from Founders Falls. Pisssed me off because it was a TIMED Mission and got to the end before finding out it was a HERO. couldnt get a team and failed the mission -

I am wondering if they changed Lore Keeper. Took a VG mate to get it. we followed bot and in-game map and the vidiotmaps.com series that I used to get it a while back. He went to each plaque twice --- one in VG mode and once not --- and he did not get the badge.

I had Lore Keeper the first few times I spoke with him. That didnt unlock him. Was doing a paper mission and earned both the Soul Binder and Weed Wacker a couple of minutes apart. After that Taraxis would talk to me --- though I had outleveled him.
The others seem to be kicked in by one badge so I can only assume that it is just the Soul Binder or the Weed Wacker.
At this point I am assuming that Weed Wacker is for killing Succubi. -

I didnt get any temp powers or a badge for doing Crimson's series. Just had the fun of fighting Back Alley. Did it with VG and we racked up about 60K prestige from it though. So I think these may just be fun mini-arcs with no rewards Did get souvenirs for those interested in that.
I'm doing the Johnny Sonata series tonight and will report back. -

He is on top of the first story or second of a multi-tiered buildng near the Crey Building.
He will give you a mission to take out Mynx (EB) and Back Alley Brawler (Hero) so be sure and bring a team. -
I got BOTH the Weed Wacker and Soul Binder badges yesterday... but my time of usefulness to him has passed.
I have polled the level 20's in my VG and none of them have the Soul Binder yet, let alone Weedwacker.
Going to see if he'll talk to me mal'ed -

It just makes no sense. Not from a playability standpoint or even from a content standpoint.
I shouldnt have to LOWER myself for content. The content needs to RAISE itself to my level. There should be no caps.

Agree completely. I really hate that in order to get the most plot (missions), I basically have to avoid teaming, skip TFs/SFs until I can auto-exemplar (or whatever the villain version is) for them, and in some cases stay in perma-debt, and still I miss things.
Exemplaring down to join someone else for the content is not the same. You don't get the clues, you don't get the full dialogue with the contact, and you don't get the souvineer.
I hate to bring up That Other Game, but it's one thing Blizzard did right - quests I'd outleveled showed up in the list as gray, I didn't get exp for them, in many cases the mobs were trivial, but I could still take them and complete them.
I don't care if I'm level 25 and fighing through a mission filled with level 10 Hellions, I want to do the mission.
I understand the mission level caps were put in to keep people from complaining about missions filled with gray-cons (I think there was a dev post on this waaaay back). You know what? I'd wager there are more people that would rather wade through the gray-cons to get the plot than would complain about it. Especially if on outleveled missions the contact said something like "You'll probably find this pretty trivial, and you likely won't gain much, but if you really want the job just on principle..."
And a lot of us want to take the jobs on principle. Especially themed characters, or obsessive completionists. As for anyone that may be upset by taking an outleveled mission by mistake, it's a heck of a lot easier to solo out an unwanted mission full of gray-cons than an unwanted mission with an AV.

My point was the SHOULDNT be grey cons. The missions should always scale to your level..
For instance you encounter CoT from levels 10ish on up. You fight Mooks at the beginning that are really no different than the Marcone you face later on. The only difference being the bosses might change a little. From my perspective as a player, the level of the mobs is of no consquence. I only pay attention to its color. Yellow, Ornage or Red is all I care about.
I think the devs need to break away from the mind set that this mission is only for Levels X-Z. They should let players expeirence things at their own pace.
I mean in reality all they have to do is even just up the levels for the contacts by 5-10. Most people would finish the arcs by then any way.
I think with the unlockable contacts they especially need to give missions more leeway.
You know what else bugs me.... when you accept a mission and then level before you do it and all the mobs are now lower. Thats the dumbest thing ever. But if missions always sacled to your level it wouldnt happen. -
I had the samee thing happen when I started Nerva.. One wouldnt talk to me at all...One dropped me after a couple of missions and the other I am scared of losing at any minute. But I'm not yet high enough for them to send me to other people.
I think all the contacts need to be shifted up about 5 levels. Or just make it 1-2 paper missions to unlock.
Something is just wrong when I have outleveled everything in Port Oakes before even unlocking the contacts. Apparently once you "get off track" it will just continue.
This is also effecting my badges. Since I'm missing so much content and not fighting certain groups, I am having to resort to street sweeping Mobs that I am levels above.
If the CoT can be in the game from the begiining to the end there is no reason the other villain, hero groups cant scale either. Yet I have had a couple of contacts that havent dropped me but the spawns are all green or blue on the map.
The devs really need to overhaul the mission system.
In another week, most players will have outleveld everything. 1/2 the People in my SG will be 40 before the weekend is over. -

The Weed Whacker badge is for CoT Bosses that are CoV-ONLY (otherwise those stinkin' Heroes could get the badge!).
Unfortunately, most of those bosses are level 30+, not a good requirement for a contact that is only level 25 to 29.
So we are changing the badge required to unlock him to something that is attainable once you get into Sharkhead. The badge will no longer be Weed Whacker to unlock him.
This is in a build being made today, so it will be a week or so before it gets to the Live servers.

Um..Posi, have you forgotten about the CoT Bosses that hang around in the lower right corner of Mercy Island? They are all over the place, with their wicked rituals and bad breath. THe ones I saw were all around level 10.

Also a little side note to those of you doing the ghost if u are level 15 or under, after u stick 8+ ghost in one trap they will spawn elites bosses. Most of the ghost that pop out were level 15, same level as me at the time but one of the traps spat out level 10 ones.

Yeah, I'm not sure how that works. I assume it's suppose to be the trap overloading based on the graphics. What I can't figure out is if there's a way to avoid this? Like does the number decay and reset to full room eventual?

Nope but u can notice the trap getting full, the green ghost graphics escaping the traps become more n more.
I did it by myself and at the time the lvl 15 elite boss would woop my [censored]. They don't seem to despawn either. So what i did at the time, since no one else was ghost trapping, is that after they spat out the eilte bosses, i would just use a different trap.

Yeah, it's sad those Elite Bosses don't despawn. It kinda seems like something with the potential for greifing. Filling up all the traps and letting him out and just watch him stay there forever. Mess things up for a lot of people.

Taraxis is a Go See contact for a couple of things. Your contacts says Go see Tarxis and he just sends you to actual mission for someone else. You also go speak to him on the Respec. -

Thanks for the fix, but Posi we are the weakest of all ATs. It would take a major increas in our damage output to make us too powerful.
The PVP Robot bug is still there though. I tested it earlier. Lasers fire, the victim does the animation of being hit but NO Damage. I can not PVP. This is a PVP game and I cant PVP. There are rewards for PVP I can not recieve. Part of the game is essentially shout off from me. We need this fix REALLY soon. -

I dont have my notes from beta but techinally that is true. In the 30s, fully slotted with SOs the drones most powerful attack was its stock [censored] slap. Followed by its stock laser. The heavey laser did LESS damage than the stock. And the upgraded pulse did even less.
SO yes, you were actully doing less damage by having it cycle throughn less powerful attacks. The most effective use was to put them in melee range and just have them beat targets.
I stopped equiping and upgrading drones all together.
I still think we need MORE damage overall.
