  1. ((I want to talk to you both. I made a Soul of Neutropolis character (since using Spirit is one character too long). I want... to know if I can have permission to play him. If not, that's no worries, I'll just reroll him with a new name. Oddly enough, he's very close to your description. I modeled him after the reactors.

Any thoughts? >.> *knows he's probably getting ahead of himself*))
  2. ((I want to make a Spirit of Neutropolis. I have an idea for a costume already. Unfortunately Spirit of Neutropolis is one character too long, so I reserved the name Ghost of Neutropolis. Something.))

    RIP, Aaron.

Kudos to the writers on that arc... I've never been so moved by a video game character.
  4. The costume creator is my biggest timesink, as well as my biggest source of inspiration. I create things in it that, for me, pushes the envelope as far as combination of parts is concerned. I also listen to music when I craft outfits. Interestingly enough:

    Metal yields demon/magic/villainous
    Electronic yields mutant/robotic/cyborg
    Orchestra yields demon/heroic/mysterious
Hip-hop yields occult (blame Tech N9ne)

Maybe that'll help. I find that after listening to the music, crafting an outfit, I sit down and ponder a name. When the name hits, I immediately feel how the character came to be. Mutations, deals with the proverbial devil, a life of crime, a freak accident, determination.
  5. ((When I read your work I want to make a Spirit of my own. x.x

Darn you and your support of my altitis! :P

Plus I don't know if I can, if there's an application process or... you know.))

You aren't entitled to make that call and are incredibly arrogant for thinking you are.

If you don't like it you can put me on ignore, urge the devs to get it together or leave yourself. Those three options suit me fine.
I think most of us would prefer if you left. We're fine with the content. You're not. You're with the outliers. If you don't want to fund it, don't. If it's really such a problem, bail out and find another game to criticize ad infinitum.

So your original post suggesting they're covering a loophole is moot, right? Will this be a significant issue for you? Can you find yourself not wanting to agree to the EULA, a document you agree to upon logging in?

It should be noted that Jimmy is (as Arcana pointed out) using it incorrectly. Munchkin is an insulting term implying that the person's sole interest is in winning and becoming more powerful than everyone else and is perfectly willing to break the rules to do so. The related terms min-maxer and power-gamer are also not entirely applicable to the sort of people who want end-game content (although they are closer than Munchkin). End-game content does, by it's very nature, require a certain degree of min-maxing since the devs are bound to select a "base power level" that is somewhat above average. But it's perfectly possible to want challenging content without being interested in min-maxing.
    Thanks for the info.

As for your last sentence, yes it is. And it's not unreasonable. And yet, no one seems to care about either of those two little things for the sake of being an ignorant crapwad on an internet forum.

Yes, we have all been incredibly busy working on I20 and beyond. Those in the I20 Pre-Beta have seen more of us in their private area of the forums than the rest of the forums have, and that's been noted by you guys (as evidenced by this thread). In 2011 we'll try to do a better job in posting outside of the "private" areas as we want to remain visible and communicative.

That said, the studio is off next week (well, there will still be board moderation), so there won't be much posting ANYWHERE from the devs for a week or so.

    Have a great holiday!
Thanks Posi. Keep working hard; contrary to all the crap in the forums, the people who are grateful for your work are NOT the minority.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and all of Paragon Studios.
  13. Side question: When the crap did the term 'munchkin' spring up in this game? I didn't think I'd ever hear a more inane term than 'nub' but clearly I was wrong.

By the way, you forgot something:

If you make player characters 5% more powerful but make the enemies 400% more powerful, you didn't really make player characters more powerful AT ALL YOU ONLY MADE TANKERS MORE USELESS.

    Glad to be of help.

My first 50 was my Dark Melee/Dark Armor Brute.

This was before the endurance reduction in DA. Before the happy fun changes to Siphon Life and Midnight Grasp. But the hardship was totally worth it.

Altitis is a progress-crippling condition, as you can see. I have about 27 level 35+ characters.
  20. I would take it if there was a /vomit emote.

    Whirlwind for about 10 seconds...

    /vomit
  21. It's used for Assassin Strike and turning the big-bad away from you. It's extremely helpful. Try it in combat a few times and I think you'll get a feel for when and why it's used.

Wonderful screenshot is wonderful. Can I steal this and photoshop in targeting reticles? The feel of this capture reminds me of running AS the War Walker.

I find that /Kin works best either with Hover and Siphon Speed allowing you to zip around while buffing and attacking at range or use Combat Jumping for the immob resist and play up front and personall dealing massive damage yourself.

If it's the former I'd drop Stone Mastery and pick up a ranged Epic like Fire or Psi.

If it's the latter I'd get Combat Jumping for the Immob resist and Earths Embrace for the extra survivability it provides.

Also why have you got Recall Friend, you have no rez or such?
Teleport Foe would make more sense as you can teleport a held mob near the squishies and use him to heal them.
Ill/Kin plays very much like Ann Heche's relationships: I'm out, I'm in, I'm out! You start off outside of battle, sending in PA and Spooky (thanks for the term, Local) and then run in to cast Fulcrum Shift. You then run out again to hold, blast and debuff as needed.

Recall Friend has always been more helpful to me than Teleport Foe.

May I suggest Power Mastery for this build? Power Mastery has a beefy 42% S/L resist power in Temp Invulnerability, as well as Power Boost (which can turn your heals, endurance changes and recovery boosts into MEGAHEALS/MEGA-ENDURANCE/MEGA-RECOVERY).
