Take Hurl. Hurl has -fly. You don't really appreciate it until you start using it on flying mobs. And hell, you rip up a giant chunk of floor and hit someone with it. What's not to like?

I distinctly remember something about Ghost Falcon not being able to handle our mac issues any more, but I'm probably wrong. I'll send him a PM and see how it goes.
Quote:Before you go off on some half-cocked tizzy, just remember they bothered creating the Mac client at all. As much as we love our platform, it is a miniscule market share. They didn't need to bother with the Mac, just like most major games.
So while we have issues and need to push to get them fixed, you should also be thankful we can even get to play the game at all on our Macs.
Quote:I have not given up on getting an improved Mac client for CoH. Keep posting to the "Crashing Often?" thread, it's our best chance by keeping the Mac related problems in a nice, convenient place.
I'll PM Ghost Falcon. -
2 or 3 recharges. That's all you need.

Quote:Keep in mind that the ambushes will afford you extra XP!
For a while now, playing a low-level Praetorian has annoyed me because of the constant ambushes, but I think I'll be able to handle it now. Every time I get beset by another ambush spawn, I'll just say to myself "Hey, at least it's not a running boss!" and, believe it or not, that will make me feel substantially better about just having been curb-stomped by five ambushes at the same time.
God damn I hate running bosses! And man am I glad I hadn't met one long enough for me to forget I ever had!
They also (in a way) train you to be ready for them. You get a feel for how long you have until they arrive, how you should set up, how you should position yourself. They add a level of... well, conditioning if you will. -
Quote:Prove it. Furthermore, I didn't buy the wedding pack. Still haven't. So I did not pay for VEATs, and unless you show me the redname who said we did, we didn't pay for VEATs.Uh, newsflash: we did pay for VEATS. The money gained from the Wedding Pack went directly towards VEAT development. The developers even stated as such.
Quote:We also paid for the Incarnate System, as that was part of the Going Rogue expansion.
In addition, subscribers to that other game receive a C-Store stipend each month, essentially giving them a new free costume set each month. While it may not be much, it can not be said that everything new in that game is in addition to the subscription fee.
The C-Store has over 70 things you can purchase, including but not limited to (purchasable in-game for CoX highlighted in red):
- Powers
- Travel Powers
- Costumes
- Character Slots
- XP bonuses
- Money bonuses
- "Resource" Bonuses
- PvP Ranking bonuses
- ARCHETYPES (wtf!)
- 15-second shrink/growth powers (also available in infinite duration for 3 times the cost, when we pay 10 bucks for the science pack and call it done with, and the powers in question CANNOT BE USED IN COMBAT)
- Respec Tokens
- Costume Slots
- Temporary Sidekicks
- Temporary Powers
- Team Teleport Powers
- Healing Powers (purchaseable green insps)
- Energy Powers (purchasable blue insps)
- Might Powers (purchasable red insps)
- Story Arcs (not like AE, actual story arcs. Imagine if you had to pay for Darrin Wade.)
- Market Slots
- Salvage Storage Slots
- Useless non-combat figurines
- Inventory Slots
Come on.
EDIT: I understand that "powers" and "temporary powers" can be purchased in CoX too. However, 4 new powersets came with GR, which also afforded you Praetoria, side-switching and the Incarnate System all for 30 bucks (or 20 if you went the non-collector's edition). Don't try and argue semantics on those. -
Quote:I'll enjoy it. It'll add more things for me to RP about.
How do you feel about the powers themselves based on the information that has been released so far, including in the sneak peaks and threads about them (here's a decent one, here's another, there are more), in terms of gameplay and how you feel about your characters having them (regardless of the lore)?
Quote:How will you feel about your characters when everyone else has a significant number of extremely effective and visible powers that are similar or identical to yours? (If you are choosing to skip these powers, please instead say how you feel about everyone else having the same or similar powers)
Quote:How do you feel about the lore concept that Incarnate powers are not really yours, but granted by/stolen from an entity that has been stated to be insane (in the issue 20 overview)? How do you feel about your fellow heroes/villains being given/stealing these powers by/from that entity? If you plan to ignore the lore for your characters, go ahead and say so, but give your opinion on it too if you have one, please.[*]Do you believe that character diversity is an important part of this game in general? If so, please say why, and from the information you have so far from the sneak-peaks or the threads about them, what impact do you feel the Incarnate system will have on that diversity, and the game as a whole? If not, why not?
As far as the Lore pets, my character contains endless amounts of devoured souls. That said I'll probably pick a human Lore summon, and explain it as a manifested soul he devoured in the past. Tech characters can explain it as a hologram, magic characters can explain it as an apparition, science can go the dimensional/rapid cloning route, and natural can just say they turned that summon to their side through some means. If you can't explain it you're not trying hard enough.
My chosen 50 for Incarnates is the most obvious for me; I want him to be insanely powerful. He'll do that through whatever means he has available. If that means siphoning power from a crazy water fountain, so be it. I'm going to love it no matter what. -
By the way, Interface adds secondary effects to your attacks. So, depending on what you pick, you'll see it.

Quote:The slotting I used on my Rad/Fire for Hot Feet is as follows:
Just don't slot Obliteration in Hot Feet... that S/L defense is not worth the huge end drain because Obliteration has very little end reduction. I slotted three Dam/End IOs from different sets and an Acc/Dam/End and that works well for me... ED capped damage and endurance reduction and a bit of accuracy (plus a ton more from the inevitable Thunderstrikes in my single target blasts).
Pacing of the Turtle: Accuracy/Endurance, Damage/Slow
Tempered Readiness: Accuracy/Damage/Slow, Damage/Slow
Scirocco's Dervish: Accuracy/Damage/Endurance, Damage/Endurance
Works great. Frankenslot! -
Try Thug/FF. Without question, the henchmen of both yourself and your friend WILL be softcapped to anything, and you guys will have immense defense as well. From there, it's all smash and flatten.

No. Look at the PlayNC store, and then look at the Cryptic Store. There are infinitely more things on the so-called 'C-Store.' If the PlayNC store had as many booster packs as the C-Store has items, we'd have had to pay for EVERY SINGLE new costume set since I8, the Invention System, the RWZ, the Faultline Revamp, the VEATs, the AE, the four free costume change emotes and the Incarnate System, our Pool Powers, any proliferated powersets, and every freespec we've ever had.

I liked you better when you had actual information about the game that other people wanted to know. Lately you've been kind of a jerk about... everything.

If this happened I'd finally roll up a Gravity dom past level 6.

What redname is responsible for communication with the mac folks? I ask because we really, really need some sort of contact with Paragon Studios as far as the current state of the mac client.
I know it's transgaming, I know it's not directly PStudios, but dammit, the mac client is a piece of crap. Memory leaks, assertion failures, lockups, black screens, constant use of /unloadgfx...
Are we just left behind? CuppaManga, do you know who we talk to? I'm this close to letting my account deactivate because A) I refuse to waste 30GB of my hard drive just to dual boot for one game and B) it feels like the devs/community managers just don't give a crap about mac users. And for all we know, they don't. -

Good lord.
Thank you Devs, for the new content. -
Quote:The Fury changes allow fury to be generated independently of being attacked. It's been proven with video documentation that a Brute can reach maximum attainable Fury while just beating up the Vanguard dummies. This may have already been addresses and I'm still reading through the thread but this really stood out to me...
Brutes rely only on *ATTACKING* and/or being *ATTACKED* to generate Fury, not hitting and/or being hit. As long as an enemy targets you with an attack, you get credit for Fury whether or not it actually hits you. -
Quote:We can wrap it up when myself and players like me are damn well done with it.
The rest? Praetoria, Well of the Furies, Praetoria, Well of the Furies....and no mention of the next Incarnate slot at all. Yawn. Can we wrap up this evil goatee universe and move on to something cool?
On a more positive note...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHH! -
Quote:I follow the tanker. If tanker runs in just ahead of me, chances are his taunt aura will take effect a split second before I hit Hail. While that Archer is busy pulling his six arrows back and the Munitionist is lining up his rocket, I'm busy pulling the triggers and spawning hordes of orange numbers. Not to burst your enthusiastic bubble but, if you've waited that long the Archer has all ready destroyed the spawn from range with RoA, AR player is just finishing up full auto, and the munitions user launched LRM from snipe range a long time ago.
You could potentially cause a problem for the devices player who is in the middle of setting up time bomb but that's about it.
DP/Kin/Mace, 35% defense to S/L.
Besides, 1.40x Accuracy in HoB. Free IO. -
I don't understand how this zone is "too small" to be a regular zone. Click those screenshots people. You can see a door on one of the cargo ships; characters cannot be bigger than those doors, at least as far as height goes.
This place is PLENTY big. -
This probably isn't a question for the Virtue forum.

Quote:Oh, no question. I assumed we were going on primary alone. With SOs this may be true. When you factor in high recharge builds, your secondary and patron/epic powers SS blows them all away. Sure DB has 3 AoE attacks they can chain together. With high recharge, you can chian together Footstomp, Burn and Fireball. That tends to do a bit more damage compared to a high recharge DB build.
