Just a few ideas for an actual speed melee set:
---
Tier 1: Rapid Jabs
In the blink of an eye, you unleash several punches and pummel your enemy. Your movement is so fast it may disorient the enemy.
Damage: Minor, Recharge: Very Fast (DoT, Smash, Chance for Stun)
6 ticks of X smashing damage over 1 second
Tier 6: Natural Speed
You can accelerate your body for brief periods of time, allowing your attacks to recharge faster.
30% Recharge bonus for 60 seconds, recharge 180 seconds
Tier 7: After Images
You can piston your arm so fast it will create temporal after images. This punch is so fast it can actually occur multiple times in one plane of reality.
Damage: Superior (DoT), Recharge: Long, (Smash/Stun)
3 ticks of XX smashing damage over 2 seconds
Tier 9: Momentum Transfer
The Earth is rotating at over one thousand miles per hour. By using your abilities to transfer all of your foe's momentum into the earth, you remove them from Earth's own rotation, causing them to be crushed by speed and thrown into turmoil.
Damage: Extreme, Recharge: Long, (Smash, Lethal, 100% chance for mag 14 knockback)
Sound interesting? -

Just ignore Johnny; he'll be dissatisfied with the state of the game even when they give him GM privileges and affix the title "King of CoX" to his characters.

I'm sure you all remember seeing Manticore and Ghost Widow in the GR cinematic trailer. They were accompanied by text suggesting that "allegiances will change" and whatnot.
What I think most of us (if not all of us) gathered from that was, Manti and GW would be switching sides. I mean, we all know that Statesman is a giant jerkwad to Manticore on a regular basis, and we also know that GW really resents Recluse for all the crap he's put her through with her own spirit and Wretch.
Unfortunately, that's all that's ever happened regarding Manti, GW and Going Rogue. Was it just a temptation? Were they never really slated to switch sides? Was that a story line that got pushed to the side because of the Incarnate System? -

Do you have a trackpad? If so, click with two fingers on it.
If not, try clicking on them with the mouse and only using your right-most finger; IIRC Apple mice have the ability to sense fingers. If your mouse does not, there should be an option in your general game options to reset your trays. -
Sam, all I can say is that you've admitted the problem is you; why is it on the shoulders of the devs to fix that? Why have you gone around telling the forums that everything should change, that you want the game to be different when the problem isn't the game? I'm not trying to rally up a personal attack here, I'm genuinely baffled. The most recent posts you've made in this thread clearly point out that YOU have the problems with the content, YOU are the one refusing to "grind" and accept the new trials, and that YOU are the one with the problem and not the game itself. What's the point of pushing for change and different methods when you already know you won't be satisfied with anything the devs could do?

I'll wait and see it, then. But I repeat, if the trials at MAX take an hour, then I can manage that. If they took a week to complete I'd probably be a little more ornery.

Quote:Back off. Seriously. This is the internet and you're not about to intimidate me or make me change my opinion.This. Is. Not. WoW. We do not care what WoW does. Nobody cares if our endgame is less grindy than WoW's. I care that it's grindier than this game has ever been thus far.
I'm thankful this game isn't as grindy as WoW and used it as an example of what the devs COULD do with the new systems/trials. I would much rather have an hour of BAF than a week of Ulduar. I will be thankful for how FAST this system is compared to other games in this market.
I'm allowed to do that. I don't need your permission. -
Where are you getting this Random Reward thing from?

Quote:I've gotta ask, have you raided in WoW? Compared to the Incarnate Trials it's like a homework assignment. 4-6 nights a week, 3-8 hours a night? For the CHANCE at getting one piece of reward equipment off of... 8 bosses max, if your guild is that good? The difference being WoW's raiding tends to make you focus around one, maybe two or three main characters.
We get 36 slots in CoX and have had what, seven years to build up a variety of level 50 characters. All of which need the axe, saw, chainsaw treatment to progress.
Everyone in the trials gets progress toward their rewards at a much greater pace than other MMO's. -
The Cabal bosses creep me out; those women have abs like a bodybuilder. A male bodybuilder.

Quote:That doesn't apply to this situation at all (and good lord is that analogy morbid).I don't mean to pick on you specifically. I've seen this sentiment a couple times recently and I don't really get it.
Just because you could theoretically be running over my grandmother doesn't mean I should be grateful you're only kicking my puppy.
Try this: I'm glad I'm only trimming one shrub and not cutting down six trees.
And to cut down the trees I first need to fell one with an axe. After that, I get a saw. I have to use the saw to fell two trees, and then I get a chainsaw to fell the final three.
That's what it's like to compare CoX's trials to WoW's raiding. -
Quote:Thanks for taking a big steaming crap on the thread, Venture.I'd have to say teaming is one of the least interesting aspects of the game. Aside from the usual PUG problem of having to work alongside people I'd usually much rather shoot, the PCs get stupidly overpowered once buffing and debuffing builds start accumulating. Developer tactics to cope with this (rather than just fixing the damn problem) tend to be cheesy and unfun, like Battle Maiden's insta-death attacks.

Never having to see "You must be facing your target" when I hit an attack.

There is no 'complaint in this thread.' The thread was an inquiry to the players as to whether or not they feel there's an upcoming grind ahead. After having played WoW (also known as the DEVIL) for two years and running raid after raid after raid after raid to get what I want (see: 202 runs through MC just to get my Might gear back before Burning Crusade pissed all over raiding guilds with the Arena system) I can safely say I will NOT find the new trials to be a grind. If they really will take about an hour, then bring it. I can manage something like that. Screw these 4-hours-a-night-5-nights-a-week raids in other games.

Quote:It's really funny you suggest Grav/Energy. Every Grav/Energy I've made hasn't made it past 10. xDEnergy. It's really a very good set for Doms. The soft control of knockback really helps your survivability before you get Wormhole and Singy, and afterward, the melee powers synergize strongly. Wormhole + Total Focus is a Mag6 combo outside of domination. Also, the slow recharging, hard-hitting nature of the attacks really helps with the animation bound nature of the dom. Power boost is nightmarishly good, once you've tried it, you'll wonder how you ever managed without it.

Just as the title says. I've tried (sort of) /Elec, and I'm just now trying /Fire. I want a Gravity character soooo bad but I need a secondary I'm going to enjoy with it.
Anyone have some Grav/* experiences they'd like to share?
