    *sigh*

Let's take the basic loadout of all Brute Armors:

    Fiery Aura
    Dark Armor
    Invulnerability
    Willpower
    Regeneration
    Stone Armor
    Electric Armor
    Shield Defense
    Energy Aura
    Super Reflexes

Now, let's pit them against Psi:

    Dark Armor
    Willpower
    Electric Armor
    Shield Defense
    Super Reflexes
    Regeneration (via heals)

Stone, Invul, Fiery and Energy are out as they have no resistance to Psi (unless you decide to toggle out of Granite and turn on Minerals).

Let's pit them against endurance drain:

    Dark Armor
    Electric Armor
    Super Reflexes

Shield, Regen and Willpower are out because they don't have the huge drain resistance (or the defense to just avoid the drain). The remaining sets will eat floor after that Sapper decides to ruin their day unless the Fiery Aura Brute is quick on his Consume and the Sapper's hold misses.

Which of any of the aforementioned sets can go from 1 health to full health in less than a second? Dark Armor. Which of the aforementioned sets can stun an AV? Dark Armor. Which sets can, with a single IO, fill their endurance bar AND their health bar? Dark Armor.

Give some credit where credit is due, man; there are things Dark Armor can stand up to that no other sets can (like the Sapper Onslaught in Dechs's first video, or a wall of Psionic damage, or DEATH), and it even has resistance to Toxic Damage.
  2. Well done, sir.

DarkGob, give my build a perusing (link in sig) and tell me what you think and if it'd work for you.

You can't kill them with fire since your fire tank is crappy.

I mean, that's what you always say right?

Accessibility is king in MMOs. A great chunk of the playerbase doesn't want a WoW situation where endgame content is a chore rather than a fun experience. Keyes, to a lot of players, wasn't fun. It's changed. Get over it.

I keep seeing this argument, and it's pretty hollow. What's the point of putting things on the market if A) they're not desirable, B) they're priced so the playerbase laughs at them, and C) they ultimately won't make Paragon as much money as anticipated? At first I was buying every new thing that the Market spat out. Now I'm just sort of twiddling my thumbs and going "Well that's boring" every week that doesn't have an SSA, a nice aura, or a powerset.

I had the same train of thought, Bad_, until I decided to run it for kicks and see what the changes brought. I highly recommend you give it a shot.

And I will continue to be happy with it as it was a piece of sludge before the changes.

I swear, with all the thread necromancy around here the forums will look like a zombie apocalypse.
  9. I ran with a league and the leader wouldn't shut the hell up about "OH GOD THIS IS TOO EASY, WTF WHY DID THEY NERF IT SO HARD, THIS IS JUST ANOTHER ITF, SCREW THE DEVS" while the rest of the league was too happy with the new run to tell her to put a freaking sock in it.

Seriously, devs, you hit the ball out of the park with this one. No more wasted hour and a half dying at the hands of a green death pulse.

  11. Lost my job a while back. Future wife lost hers. Desperately trying to get back in the financial stability region and right now some good RP would really help.

Tier 35 Rewards, 5 year Veteran enjoys long walks on the beaches of St. Martial (kicking Wailers in the jaw), in-mission RP (especially during fights), and the opportunity to kick a great deal of butt both red- and blue-side and be able to enjoy the spoils of in-game war with a post-battle RP session in a cool part of an outdoor zone.

Anyone interested? It could be just the two of us, or we could form an entire team if there's enough people. I really just want to RP some great concepts I've made recently and flesh out some characters who, until now, have just been really good-looking XP sponges with semi-written bios.

So, Virtue? Are you up for a new lease on RP?

I don't care for the animations of Super Reflexes for this theme, would rather stay away form Fiery Aura due to thematic reasons & excessive clicking, and am not too excited about Regen for the same reasons as Fiery Aura.

Thoughts between Willpower and Invul? I like the potential of Invul, but the self rez in WP is tempting...
I'd go Willpower. The self-rez is a handy "Oh I'm not done YET" power that boosts your damage and ToHit for a while, and the layered defenses of the set are pretty phenomenal. If you just build for as much HP as possible you'll be able to regenerate whatever hits you.

I'm very aware he's a rogue operative, and I can read. You might also note that his description says Paragon has asked Recluse to clean up his mess. Would it be out of the question for the Phalanx to say "Well this is all your fault anyway, Steffan!" and just go for it? Tempers are high, allegiances are breaking, and everyone over in Paragon just found out Alexis Cole-Duncan is dead. Somehow I doubt rational decisions will be made.

Except if you play the villain arc, and read Marshal Blitz's info, Arachnos and the Rogue Isles DO have their hands in this. Paragon still considers Warburg to be Arachnos property, asking Recluse to get Blitz under his thumb again or face the consequences. And the player, a Rogue Isles villain, may be the one who killed Alexis (depending on your choice). Besides, she has Statesman's blood in her. Who says she won't get mad and march down her own warpath?

Blitz still has his own ideals and his own nasty cancer. Longbow or not, Blitz would have sped up his operations regardless of what Recluse told him.

I don't know about that. I didn't get that vibe at all; I got the vibe that he's just as much of a cog in this machine as Malaise is, and not the machine operator.
