Forgive me if I missed something, but... just what the title says.

Quote:Most folks on my friends list. I could PM you a list of the names, as well as additions of people I know left with the AE. I still talk to several of them.I haven't seen any "loss of a great many players". Several folks on your friends list, maybe. But that's not an accurate sampling of overall figures.
Just because you didn't see it doesn't mean it didn't happen. I'm sure Virtue's population is grand, but people DID leave. -
Quote:Except, they kind of do have a gun to every villain's head when it comes to the lore. That gun takes the form of:No one has a gun (figuratively) to villain's head forcing him to save the world. If your villain doesn't want to save the world, don't. You're a villain, it's what you do.
- The Rikti winning.
- The Fifth Column winning.
- The Praetorians winning.
- Snaptooth winning.
- Lady Winter winning.
Until the SSA, Villains could help the Heroes (directly or inadvertently) or not run the content (which is BS no matter how you look at it). -
If any of you end up working Christmas Day, please PM me your personal Paypal information and I'll buy you a beer for being awesome.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Joyous Holidays to all of you working so hard at Paragon. We love you. :3 -
Quote:The true villainous path would be to let that someone else finish the job, then crack them over the skull with a cinder block and take over the sweet, sweet operation they unwittingly set up for you.Saving your own skin and making sure someone else doesn't takeover/destroy the world isn't exactly heroic.
Quote:In the case of the ITF, it's in your best interests NOT to let the timeline get too effed up, otherwise you may stop existing. Plus, as Imperious says, it's a fine excuse to spill some blood.
Quote:Lastly, he's indebted to you. Being owed a favor can be a very valuable thing, not to mention the Roman armor you get from the deal, which you can flip in the present for quick cash.
Quote:I'm sorry, but I fail to find a problem in this for any of my villains and their varied motivations. It's always a fun time beating down some primitive screwheads.
This is also the first SSA. I'm pretty surprised no one has realized that Blueside will almost assuredly get their place in the spotlight returned to them (major emphasis on that) when the next SSA is released. -

None of that has to do with lore, which is what I was referring to. Yes, we've gotten some fantastic in-game additions over the past years, but as far as lore we're still crapped on. Even going to the RWZ, Cimerora, Pocket D, and Trials we're FORCED to do heroic acts as part of the storyline.
For once we're getting to be VILLAINS, not off-side lackeys or this whole "do the right thing for the good of everyone ever or else" crap that's been in the game since the RWZ went co-op.
A real villain would do as Wade did with the heroes; hit the mad god where it hurts when he isn't looking, strong-arm him to his knees, and take full advantage of his pain and confusion to gain the upper hand. -
Quote:Funny how people react when they have the floor dropped out from under them.Right now the arcs have us bluesiders running around like chickens with our heads lopped off.
The mystery architect (remaining nameless for spoiler purposes) has done one hell of a job hitting the heroes where it hurts. Yes, you're running around like chickens with their heads cut off; this is because the mystery architect has already chopped off said head. From here on out it's just a matter of waiting for the body to stop running. Then the job will be finished. -
WAAAAAAAAANT.
Also want a rod of pure glowy FX. -
The SSA arc is called WHO WILL DIE?
In the arc, A HERO DIES.
When a HERO DIES, VILLAINS are involved.
When VILLAINS cause a HERO to DIE, villains are victorious.
I'm sad no one has said this yet, and I'm even sadder I had to spell it out for you. If the arc was "LORD RECLUSE GETS BEATEN TO DEATH BY A BUNCH OF HEROES" the redside arcs would be every villain character getting crapped on in every arc. And as for 'throwing heroes a bone'?
No. For once redside is getting some love and you have no right to get your undies in a wad over it. -
Shame on that person, and shame on those who believed them.

Your best source of information on Ghost Widow can come from playing her Patron arcs and the level 15-19 arc from Seer Marino in Mercy.
Ghost Widow USED to be played by a Dev years ago, she would almost ALWAYS be on in Pocket D 1 on Virtue and was quite the roleplayer. -
Quote:I couldn't care less about the min-max kiddies and AE babies that exploited the AE system. It's the people they drove away that were the big issue for me. The AE was wildly exploitable, and we ended up with Tankers who took almost NOTHING in their Primary, Controllers with a Boxing>Kick>Ranged Blast>Jump Kick attack chain, Blasters using the APP Bonfire EVERY spawn, Scrappers with almost no attacks, Defenders with ONLY attacks, Masterminds who relied on their ranged blasts, and the list goes on and on.This is probably not the part that is regrettable (if AE is regrettable).
Brain dead locusts might be good for quick infusions of cash (I don't know), but like your description implies (locusts), they are not sustainable, you can't retain them. If given everything they wanted, many of them would have left soon thereafter anyway, quickly becoming bored with it. Those people are a good target audience for the Xbox, not a subscription based game like City of Heroes. Positron never had any inclination to invest in that crowd (using AE). Maybe because they're a horrible investment.
It was THAT gigantic cloud of idiocy that drove a lot of really good players and RPers off of Virtue for good. -
The AE. Undoubtedly.
The amount of people Virtue lost after the AE babies swarmed in like a cloud of brain-damaged locust is staggering. Half of my global list back then sent emails saying "The game is a joke now, peace" and I never heard from them again. -

YES SIR! Because I miss Recluse actually... DOING things.

I'm gonna have to agree with you here, Sam. The hit delays and misaligned arcs are something that should be fixed. I remember how quick the changes to Dual Blades' hit times were (Vengeful Slice, most notably) when it came out, so hopefully the devs can fix the times here quickly as well.
EDIT: You forgot one MAJOR thing with Arc of Destruction (No Momentum): Watch your character's left forearm and tell me just how they were able to follow through with the rest of the attack. During the downswing, the left arm seems to either rotate and break the character's arm, or the arm resets itself and passes through the weapon. There's no way you could wind up that attack with your left forearm twisted around 180 degrees.
EDIT2: I meant left arm. Oops. -

In case you were around in D1 around 10:45 PM PST.
Mondo called me Mondo, which isn't true, I'm not Mondo. Mondo is Mondo.
