I like it. It's a very powerful-feeling animation, much in the way the animation for Howl is, and the animation for Fearsome Stare/Terrify.
I'd personally love to see the animation for Howl used on powers like Shiver, Static Discharge, and maybe even Frost. -

Quote:Can I see those macros? I'd like to use them for converting purples. So, in short it has been both nerfed and buffed.
I don't like the nerf part but I can certainly understand why.
I guess one thing that is being overlooked is the actual damage potential of a brute.
That's one thing mid's doesn't cover: the use of reds
I have some macros setup to convert inspirations into reds. When I am mobbed up insp drops regularly, showering the reds upon my brutecake of destruction.
It's the use of those reds for that damage potential that makes the "nerf" not so noticeable.
I think it's an even trade. -
Setting your baseline at Malta and high-level Longbow as well as Arachnos is sort of like starting off with a motorcycle before you know how to ride a bike.
Arachnos, Malta and Longbow have damn near every trick in the game up their sleeve. Try a +2/x8 against Council or any other villain group. Start slow. My SS/Elec can to +2/x8 Malta with trouble, and +2/x8 Council with no problems. It's a matter of what you're facing. Punch the punching bag before you punch Tyson. -

Quote:Sometimes people's head shape don't agree with the glasses themselves; I had an old pair of glasses (prescription) that would give me one monster of a headache if I wore them for more than an hour.Sounds to me more like a personal health issue for you, then . The animated movies i've seen in 3d were just what I said, mostly decent movies that the 3d didn't hurt and in some cases made for some cool effects, but then I don't suffer headaches and whatnot. I have no idea how the glasses are getting dirty while you're wearing them though.

Quote:Assassin's Shock at 38?Here's a build a guy posted a long time ago which I saved as a good middle-of-the-road build. I modified it a little back then for him. Obviously now fitness is inherent, so you can add in caltrops and kuji-in retsu and one other power pick. The build does have one purple set, Coercive Persuasion, because it is both on the cheaper side and gives 5% ranged defense. This build is pretty good for a mostly non-purple one.

Quote:Hey, you know there's this other place on the forums for talking about Stalkers? This I dont believe for one second. If it were really true Castle wouldnt be so scared to buff stalkers. Back in the recent beta I made the post about wanting stalker changes and he reposted his response in the live forums. For some reason the devs are seriously out of tune as to what the game problems actually are. He thought one of stalkers main problems was shared aggro on teams when actually thats like the very least of our concerns. I know in that thread pretty much everyone said that was the last thing stalker players worry about. Our issue is the lack of AoE and not having single target damage strong enough to warrant giving up said AoE and certain defensive powers.
So unless we get a stalker revamp that either gives back all the missing powers or they raise stalker and blaster melee mods (yes blasters dont do enough damage to justify their squishieness too) to the point way above scrappers and give them the real build up instead of the watered down version all the other classes get, I dont see stalkers ever really benefiting the team. Some would aggro the stalker team crit buff fixed this but to me it made the problem even more noticeable. Stalker only really see a benefit if there is a melee heavy team, but if you already have melee damage why do you need a stalker in the first place? This is why I felt the buff should have been what the old sidekick range was so that stalkers could always benefit from it no matter the team composition and at the same time keep stalkers from wondering off from the team getting themselves kill.
Here, I'll give you a link. -
Nalrok_AthZim once wrote a guide in less than an hour.
No @#$%, that's where my Electric Armor guide came from. I'll do another guide on another powerset I've played to 50 in 40 minutes or less if someone bets me I can't. -

- Umbral, with all of his suggestions and complaints about powerset design, has taken himself to his own version of CoH that he wrote and coded himself.

Quote:The whole anger part is dumb. Not to mention the obsession now with framming out every single enemy on a TF for shards! You would not believe the sheer amount of confusion players display when I try to explain that running a Task Force Normally, you know, "like you normally would" will actually net better rewards than farming.
- I try to explain to players that completing a task force or event will net the equivelent of 4 shards, either directly through the Hamidon, or indirectly through specific incarnate salvage.
- I try to explain to players that if the defeats per second is constant, then they will defeat the same number of enemies in each TF, and thus have equal chances to obtain shard drops.
- I try to explain that fighting more archvillains or Hero's net higher chances for shard drops.
I've actually had somebody tell me that the only task forces they run are LGTF and ITF, they won't do anything else so there's no reason for them to run TF's normally, and they were going to Fram Fram Fram.
Seriously, if I wanted to do a Task Force where I defeated everything that moved, I'd go do a Dr. Quarterfield.
There's a REASON "nobody" runs Dr. Quarterfield on a regular basis. It's BORING. Whacking the same enemy over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, isn't fun. Well, not to me. I'm sure there's some frammer out there that would love to argue on that point.
Anyways, I don't understand the O.M.G. I must get incarnate slotted NAO attitude. The next batch of incarnate stuff probably won't be hitting until January at the earliest, so what's the point in rush, rush, rushing the stuff today? Neverminding that the Incarnate TF's, specifically the Director 11 fight, really seem to be balanced against having more Incarnate Buffs than are currently available in game.
I really don't understand the purpose of making an Alpha-slot enhancement, just to make an enhancement. I see no reason to waste resources on making a cardiac boost when I'm looking at the spiritual tree.
So, sorry, can't explain it to you, I don't understand it either.
However, wanting more than one Alpha just to have it? Why the heck not? I currently have a Cardiac, a Spiritual and a Nerve on my main Brute, and being able to swap them out depending on situation/mood is quite nice.
Besides, I personally love the new "flatten everything" mindset for TF's. More money, more drops, more chances for shards. -

Dark/Dark/Soul Brute, the very same as the one in my sig. After a recent respec, he's pretty unstoppable (even more so than he was before). The key was leaving the portals alive. Dark/Dark benefits from being surrounded. Granted I died a few times, but Dark Armor is the armor you have to kill until the player gives up. I used Soul Transfer a total of three times during the fight, and I found Holtz to be easier to fight than The Honoree.

I know they're not the full bore, but taking both on at once has to count for something.

Can we get an Ocho wall graphic? Imagine how nice my neighbors will be to me when they see the Mod God staring them down from inside my house.

It's a balance. I don't know how many times I've had to freaking post this but it's a balance.
Brutes now fall between Tankers and Scrappers. In the low levels, the Fury change will make your tasks trivial and your damage incredible. In the high levels, you'll still feel that Fury pounding but not as much as before the change. For me, the change was barely noticeable as far as generation. Fury retention is much better; no longer do I need to speed through spawns in hopes my Fury will stay up. Surprisingly, this has offered me less downtime and has sped up my kill rate. When I can charge in to a fresh spawn with ~65% Fury, the bodies fall that much quicker.
It's a balance. Forum search tool helps also.
