  2. Here is a build I've been working on. It's soft-capped to Smashing/Lethal and very nearly soft-capped to Melee (before Guarded Spin). Energy Resistance is, of course, maxed. I also like the debuff Melt Armor gives me, though that's purely a playstyle choice. I don't feel like I'll miss Fireball, as I've already got plenty of AoE and Cone damage, and between Energize and Power Sink, I can't imagine Endurance will be an issue. Any and all feedback is welcome.

  3. Nevermind. You meant "ATO", which, coincidentally, I was also completely ignorant of. Thanks for posting, this is all very interesting.

These two sentences brought up something that I've somehow managed to stay ignorant of. The first, "enhancement boosters", I was able to look up on Paragon Wiki. I'll definitely be taking advantage of that. However, my search fu fails me on "Corruptor AIO". What did I miss? I'm not familiar with the term.

    Thanks in advance!

  6. Crap. Okay. Thanks. I'll try to figure out the interference thing. I can't seem to locate the drivers, but I'll keep looking. I've written an e-mail to their support. We'll see what they say.
  7. Hi, guys. I recently purchased a new wireless keyboard and mouse by Digital Innovations after a horrific coffee spill on my old (wired) keyboard and mouse.

Very regularly...in fact, several times daily... the keyboard will suddenly start malfunctioning. Certain buttons will all of a sudden change their functionality for no reason. For instance, the issue I just experienced was that any time I pushed "1" (and this started in the middle of a mission, mind you), instead of executing the corresponding power in the power tray, it will bring up some Windows 7 function, asking me if I want to allow Microsoft to make changes to this computer, blah blah blah, which of course brings me out of the game until I click on the game screen with my mouse and go back into the game. Of course, now I can't press "1" or the same thing will happen.

The issue is rarely the same issue twice, however. Sometimes, in team play, "TAB", which I have set to highlight the nearest enemy, will instead highlight the team leader. This happened once for a period of a few minutes, then the issue went away. Most frequently, however, and this is most infuriating, I will all of a sudden lose the ability to enter text in the chat bar, which destroys my ability to communicate with my team. The only way to fix the issue is to reboot, which of course pisses off my team because I had no way to communicate that I was going to have to drop suddenly and reboot.

This happens regularly, and it seems to affect my mouse, as well, in that when I click on desktop icons directly after leaving the game with the aforementioned issues, the left click will suddenly act as a right click, etc. It seems to happen only in CoH, though that may be because I've been spending a lot of time in game since I bought them and haven't given it time to happen elsewhere.

Has anyone even heard of an issue like this? It's starting to make the game unplayable, and I don't really have the money right now to just cut my losses and buy another set of keyboard/mouse.

Any and all feedback is most welcome and greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I guess it depends on wether or not you ever solo or are just building for maximum team friendlyness, but I'd definitely consider going with Electric Fence slotted as an attack. If you swap World of confusion for it and slot it with Thunderstrike, you don't even lose the defense bonus.

You also skipped the AOE immoblize which, I feel, is a big mistake. If you plan on incarnating, and going with an interface that has a dot...your AOE immobilize will suddenly do OMGWTFBBQ levels of damage, to the point of wiggling down entire spawns' HP to nothing in seconds.

Speaking of incarnating, Clarion is a much better choice of mez protection imo - first of all, it is perma without needing to dedicate any slots to it, unlike indomitable will, and much higher mag protection. It also leaves you free to choose another epic pool.

I think 3 pure end mods in conductive aura is a bit overkill, I'd put the 3rd into Stamina. Hasten is also perma just with 2 recharge IOs, so you have another slot to spare.

Do you stay much at range that you need it capped? I find that 32% on ranged/meelee is enough, with Time's Juncture's providing the debuffs to put me at proper defense cap (or to cap with a small purple in emergencies). But then, I play my Elec/time as a scraptroller and charge into spawns.
Thank you for this. There's a lot of really great ideas in here that didn't occur to me. I didn't realize Clarion gives you perma mez protection. If that's the case, I'll definitely want to go that route and probably switch epics. I also wasn't taking into consideration the damage potential of the AoE Immobilize. I never selected it because I didn't feel it meshed well with the AoE Sleep. I actually do a lot of soloing, which is frustratingly slow right now, of course. I'm hoping Psionic Tornado will speed that up once I hit 48 and can slot it.

Thank you to everyone for your comments. A lot to consider.

I will say that Malaise's Illusion gives me both a Recharge and Ranged defense bonus, which is why I selected it. I don't know...

Awesome. Thank you for the feedback. I have not tried WoC. In theory, it sounded like it would mesh well with my other powers. I'll take a close look with that in mind. You're absolutely right about the Numina Proc. Thank you very much for your thoughts.

I've never tried posting a build on the forums before, but I'm really enjoying my Elec/Time Controller (got her up to 43 now) and I'm hoping to maximize my effectiveness. I came up with this build on Mid's and would very much appreciate any feedback.

I chose Burnout because it has come in very handy on multiple occasions when I desperately needed certain powers up...kind of an "oh crap" power.

I chose Psi as my Epic because I absolutely can not STAND getting mezzed. I carry lots of break frees, but it doesn't lessen my frustration, as Elec/Time is so dependent on those toggles being up.

One more note, I plan on upgrading Posi's Blast to the Purple equivalent when I have the funds or the time to wait for the drops. I was basically going for Range defense and recharge with this build, the philosophy being that most anything that comes into melee range with this toon is done for anyway.

Thanks in advance for any and all feedback.

edit* I changed the three End Mod enhancements in Conductive Aura to three regular lvl 50 IO's.
  13. Wouldn't the secondary effect be similar to Ice? It seems that it wouldn't make sense for Brutes for the same reason that Ice doesn't. Counterproductive to building Fury.
  14. Okay, good. I just had to ask. This toon has had an unreal time trying to fill out his power trees.

    Thank you for the response.
  15. Not to be a conspiracy theorist, (I fully admit that it could just be extraordinarily bad luck) but I seem to remember reading some time ago that there was something bugged about the drop rate for Masterminds in the trials. Is this true? I only ask because I just completed a marathon trial session on my Bots/Traps MM, and after 12 hours, I ended up with a grand total of 2 rares, 1 Uncommon, and somewhere between 12 and 20 Commons. This is just the capper to a week of similar results. Before today, I had only been casually playing for an hour or two. However, in all of that time I have never gotten a Very Rare on this character.

On my other toons, I seem to average one or two Very Rares a night.

So, I'm just asking... is something bugged? Or is it just extraordinarily bad luck???

    When Playing CoH

Almost always The Cape. If not that, then Houston Sports Talk Radio 610.
  17. I see. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I appreciate it.
  18. The average wait listed in the "LFG" tab is always 1 or 2 minutes. I've been waiting on Virtue during peak time for over an hour. Am I doing something wrong?
  19. Good call. I think I'll go with Cardiac. Thanks!
  20. Hi, guys. Running a search hasn't yielded my admittedly weak Search Fu any results, so I was wondering what the prevailing opinion is for the best way to go forward into Incarnate Land with my Electric Melee/Shield Defense Brute?

Right now I'm sitting at %58.01 Melee Defense and %53.64 Ranged Defense (with my handy Shield Drone pet active), so I don't think I need more in that regard, though I could be wrong.

I do run into endurance issues if the fight is particularly prolonged and I don't have any blues for some reason, but that is pretty rare. At this point, I'm kind of thinking it's between the Cardiac Slot and the Spiritual Slot for more Recharge.

Does anyone have a particularly strong opinion? I'd be very interested to hear from anyone of the same AT that has tried one or the other slots.

    Thanks in advance.
  21. The King's Speech will win Best Picture.
Collin Firth will win Best Actor
Natalie Portman will win Best Actress.

Those are the only ones I consider locks.

It can still fit because performance enhancers are very real, unlike say a true super power like flight or laser beams from the eyes do.
Speaking as someone who knows Tom personally, I think he's going to be a fantastic Bane. He's not a very large dude in person, but as he showed in Bronson, he can pump himself up and the camera can work wonders in making someone look a lot larger than they really are.

I'm really excited for him and can't wait to see what he does with the role. Knowing some of his personal history, the idea of seeing him play someone with an addiction to the serum is going to be really special. It was very cool to see him kick so much *** in Inception, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing him kick Christian Bale's *** in DKR.

I can tell you one thing, though. No one is going to work harder, and no one is more about the process than Tom Hardy. Going after Heath Ledger's Joker is not enviable, but they couldn't have made a better choice, IMHO.
  23. huh....didn't know that. Thanks to the OP for asking the question!
  24. Best of luck in all of your endeavors, Ocho.
  25. I'd probably grab my Elec/Shield Brute, then gather:

    1) Me
    2) Stone/Fire Tank
    3) Fire/Shield Scrapper
    4) Ice/Storm Troller
    5) Fire/Dark Corruptor
    6) Fire/Storm Corruptor
    7) FF/Sonic Defender
    8) Rad/Sonic Defender

I'd require that the Scrapper had Phalanx Fighting to stack with my own and with the bubbles. The troller is for the slows, Freezing Rain, and because Ice Patch is effective no matter what the level-difference. The corruptors because of the sick mix of AoE's and debuffs. The defenders because, well, I've always found them ridiculously effective in the hands of anyone semi-competent. The tank for Granite Armor, obviously.
