Quote:Yes, you can do that. You are Auto-Exemplared as a default to the team leader when no mission is set and you stay that way in the zones. This means a level 1 can run through PI SSK'd to 49 and get the jetpack in the Shard if they choose to, however, make sure you have at least 10,000 influence before you make that run.And hmm...does this mean that while my better half is standing in WW for hours, If I am teamed with him, I can go to The Shadow Shard and kill Eyeballs for the Sword???
Need to experiment.

Quote:I did find something likable about the change. I don't think I read enough of the patch notes however let me relate the moment I basically peed myself last night.
We were having difficulty with an arc in Faultline due to a couple players having to AFK and one having to leave for 20 mins (he was playing at work... I'M JEALOUS!) so I got out my level 39 tank and had them exemplar me so we could take care of the problem we were having.
Then I dinged. I hit level 40. My opinion currently is now, screw it. If I can play any toon at any time on any team and get experience, whatever. I'm good with the changes.
Man if I'd have known that's what WHF meant by preventing the matchmaking issues, ahhh....
Screw it. My friend doesn't need to catch up. This is now too cool.
Yes, well, now we can play anything we want (aside from 50s) and still level up, which I think is the best feature in the game now.Don't worry, Friar, your friend will catch up just fine.
Check the auto-Sk sliders in the Options window. Setting them does work, thank the Lord. -

Hopefully, they will give us the freespec a couple of days after I16 goes live as the usually do. No big deal if they do with it, though.

Well, no subscription fee does make it something to try out, regardless of who makes it, I must say. Not to mention the whole superhero theme. If there is one thing that could pull me away from CoH, it would be a better superhero MMO.

Well, it might not be so bad if they are actually using a language I can understand.

Quote:Honestly, unless you really enjoy playing your 50 to the exclusion of all else, IOing it with anything at that level is pointless, aside from building for PvP. Not that PvP is all that much fun anymore.I don't know if people knows this, but you don't have to buy purples. You can get them on drops. And no, you don't have to farm a mission for'em either. Of the seventy that I've gotten on my main, I've only gotten a handful from bein' on a team, and it wasn't a farm team. And no, it doesn't involve the Wall in Cimerora. So no, you don't have to pay top prices on the Market, nor do you even have to participate in it.
As for the PvP IOs, good luck with that. -
You know, I never thought I would agree with Elf on anything, however, I have to agree with him on most of this along with what Ace said.
Nerfing the hell out of the game at this point is not a smooth move, what with actual competition out there and all. -
Thanks for the reply, Wyatt. I saw Aion in its closed beta form for a few and never did get the chance to check. The game does look like it would be enjoyable though.

Did anyone find out if we can turn off that inane squealing and squawking the character does in combat nearly every time you click a power?

Quote:After reading your sig, I would say you could do 5 MMOs.It looks good, a couple good coh friends are planning on playing it,so I might play Aion. But I'm uber worried about the time sap. I'm finally finding room to do other things in my life and don't want that taken away! Needless to say I don't think I could do 2 MMOs

Thanks for the info, Niviene.

Quote:The best thing that can happen to this game is having Champions Online and the possible DC MMO live.I halfway agree with you, though I think it will last at least three years, barring unforeseen meltdowns.
To counter that games launch, these guys did offer closed beta spots for Going Rogue to everyone who just keeps a paid account through Oct.
That's what competition does.Competition only makes this one better.
